Mr. Popular by Nicole London

Rule #1: Do not vote for Mr. Popular.

Rule #2: Do not talk to Mr. Popular.

Rule #3: (Most importantly, and above all) Do not fall for Mr. Popular...

Liam 'Mr. Popular' Carter will always be the closest thing to the "walking plague" in my eyes. His cockiness seeps through his every move, and no matter how many state championships he wins with the basketball team, he will forever be a "loss" to me.

Because he's my older brother's best friend, I'm forced to tolerate him, and he's forced to tolerate me. In fact, unless my brother is around, we happily ignore each other every chance we get.

It wasn't always this way, though...

Several summers ago, we both attended the same summer camp. A place we returned to year after year. We became friends--close friends, but right when I thought he could possibly turn into my everything, he made it clear that what we had was nothing.

Now that's he's a senior, and I only have to deal with him for one more year, I've vowed to keep repeating the same set of rules to myself. Especially since he seems so hell-bent on wanting to talk to me for some reason, and especially since he seems to be staring at me every time we're in the same room together...

Rule #4: Always follow rules #1-3...

Rule #5: (OMG what the hell are you doing?) Do not KISS Mr. Popular...

Addicted 2 Romance Review:

*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.*

This is my 2nd book by this author and this is only her second book. It was an enjoyable Young Adult story. It is mostly centered on those high school years. While sex is mentioned it is not very graphic. It really has 3 main characters.

Liam- Mr Popular who really isn't that popular. It is called that because it is a tilte sorta like homecoming king where the student body votes on Mr Popular or Miss Popular. At the start of the book he is dating Ashley who talks all about being Mr and Ms Popular. Liam is best friends with Zach who is also his neighbor and a teammate.

Mariah - is the litte sister. She is 2 years younger than Liam. They are neighbors and casual friends because her brother is best friends with Liam. She has one best friend and is really Ms. Unpopular. She is smart, becomes Liam's partner in an AP class and they had a sweet romance at camp over the years until Liam screwed up. She is very young in this story. Liam is a Senior and she is Sophmore, so around 16.

Zach - is the brother and best friend. He is worse than a manwhore. He sleeps with 3 girls a night. But he is sweet to his sister and a good friend to Liam. He is the reason Mariah and Liam hide their relationship.

As I said this is a high school book. It includes scenes from camp where Liam and Mariah fall for each other until the final betrayal camp scene. Most of the store takes place in High School with Mariah a Sophmore and Liam a Senior.

It was sweet, romantic and took you back to the days. I am in my 40's and I enjoyed it but I think I might have liked it much more if I was younger. Mariah, distrusts, doesn't listen and kinda gets mad at Liam alot and runs from him at times. Liam is very sturdy in his desire and love for her. He really truly loves her and he will really do anything to be with her. Mariah is immature, and she is 16, she is allowed. I felt that at times she didn't know what she was feeling and she jumped to conclusions very easily.

The author did a great job with the writing and the story. It just was very high school and I felt I was too old to be reading this story. I would recommend it to 16-20 year olds. But it really is a very high school story. I really liked the style and how the author wrote this story and things moved really well in the story.
