I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This appears to be a debut book from a brand-new author. It was wonderfully written, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It's a fairy tale story similar to Beauty and the Beast, with an age gap. a virgin and lots of lobsters.

Jolie, the heroine was so adorable and funny I actually laughed so much in this book. Mal was her perfect partner, and I loved all her antics in torturing him with bad food.

In this story we meet the Petit family, they are a Lobster fisherman family in their small town. Jolie is the smart sister who also helps their dad out in catching the Lobsters. Verity is the pretty sister and she runs the family restaurant where they serve the Lobsters. Their dad is broke and takes a loan from the Beast of Calico Cove, and thats how Mal enters their life.

Mal decides that in exchange for the loan he wants Jolie to move into his mansion and cook for him. But no one said she had to be a good cook and so starts Jolie's torture of Mal.

I loved Mal and Jolie together. She was just the person he needed to help him start to live again. She had spunk and an adorable personality, and she brings fun and humor into his life. Meanwhile he also teaches her how to take risks and face life head on.

This was a story I could not put down and I loved that the author made Jolie and Mal face the really tough decisions. Mal had some really serious issues, and it was not an easy fix. Jolie had some growing up to do and I loved watching her turn into this strong woman and get the life that she really deserved.
