ABOUT THE BOOK

Bad boy quarterback Tyler Harris plays ball for a living and breaks hearts for a hobby. With two championships in as many years, Tyler is the best quarterback in the league. Gorgeous and rich, he's at the top of his game.

Women love him. Men want to be him. Only Tyler's not feeling the love. In fact, he's not feeling anything at all. Licking his wounds after a scandal and a breakup with his long-time girlfriend, he retreats to a run-down mansion on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest. Once there, Tyler is blindsided by the sassy redhead next door.

He knows that he's met his match and possibly his soulmate. There's one problem. She despises him. Lavender Mead has a good reason to dislike jocks, namely an absentee father who deserted the family to coach college football.

Maybe that explains her penchant for bad boys -- especially those who play ball. Her new neighbor seems just that type. Yet Tyler's not the shallow superstar she expected, and she's inexplicably drawn to football's bad boy. The two are so hot together, they're combustible.

As the clock ticks down, can they commit to each other forever? Or will they both fall short of the goal at the last minute?

I am a fan of this authors work though I like her older stories, I have never read this series before and this is actually a previously published story she re-did. So for me Tyler is a brand new character. He is a star football player who is hiding from a scandal and a broken heart, he has been engaged and is broken up just barely with his fiancée. They were never in love but she was his on and off girlfriend from college.

At times I did not like Tyler. He said things that made him manwhorish yet he was engaged and with his ex essentially for years. It made him not look that terrific as a leading man for Lavender. Lavender has a dad who abandoned her and her mom is very controlling. Her dad left his family for football and groupies and so that is why she tries to resist Tyler romantically.

One of the biggest obstacles is Lavendar's dad, she think he is a real jerk and well Tyler has a very different opinion. I am not spoiling anymore than that but that  is a huge deal in this story. This is not just a romance it really shows how broken homes can really harm the child and how things might not be as they are.

It is a well written story and I liked the depth of the storyline. My only real issue with it was at times Tyler came off as a jerk,
