Going for the Hole by L.P. Dover

About the Book

Grip it softly.

Stroke it smooth.

And you’ll sink right into the hole. That’s my motto both on and off the golf course. The women come in full supply everywhere I go and there are no complaints. Maybe it’s the size of my driver that gets them going.

I’m Lucas “Ace” Montgomery, professional golfer and world record holder for the longest drive in golf history. The PGA Tour has been my life, but it’s time for a break. A few relaxing weeks of drinking and golf with friends in Myrtle Beach is what I need. However, when a bright pink ball knocks me out on the course, and a blonde beauty comes to my aid, I expect to see a gallery girl, a.k.a a member of the Party Groupie Association. Trust me, those girls know how to have fun. Although, to my surprise, it’s not what I get at all.

Dr. Ashley Locke is beautiful and everything I’d want if I was ever to get serious about someone. Unfortunately, she has no interest in me whatsoever which only makes me want her more. All she wants is to get through her friend’s bachelorette weekend and go back to her life, but after injuring me on the course, I’m not letting her run away so easily. When I want something, I get it.

I’m not competing for money this time. All I want is to win her heart.

“When can I see you again?”
I shook my head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“I took a needle in the ass for you. Surely, that deserves more of your attention?”
Why did he always have to give me that devilish smile of his? As much as I wanted to hate it, I couldn’t.“Why are you doing this? Can’t you find someone else?”
“Of course I can, but I want you. We can have secret meetings in here if you’re still embarrassed to be seen in public with me.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not embarrassed. You’re you, and I’m a respectable member of society.”
He burst out laughing. “Okay, I see how it is.”
“I just don’t want the publicity,” I added. “You can understand that, right? You of all people should know what it’s like not to have privacy.”
His smile faded. “You’re right, I do, but it’s my life. I can’t change who I am.” My body shivered with the intensity of his stare. “For once, I thought I’d found someone who wanted me for me and not my money or fame.”
Guilt racked my body and I sighed. “Okay, I give in. I can see you tomorrow, after I get out of the spa. Maybe we can order in room service.”
Eyes twinkling, he went over to the door and opened it. “Now that’s a plan I can get behind.”
Before I could walk out, he stood in my way, body close to mine. “I’m going to break through that ice wall of yours, sunshine. One way or another.”
I batted my eyelashes in an innocent matter. “Good luck with that.”

This is a standalone romance between a pro golfer, Lucas and a busy doctor, Ashley.

Ashley is visiting a resort locally for a pre- wedding fun with her brothers fiancée and that's where the two meet for a one night stand. However even though they each gave themselves fake names they cannot stay away from the other and the next day they learn each others secret identity.

This was a really fun and romantic story between two very busy and professional people who fall in love or lust at first sight. They have to learn how to make romance work and I loved how adorable they were together.

This was a well written and fun story with a great set of characters and supporting characters.

Save the Date by Carrie Aarons

About the Book

You know that pact you make with your childhood best friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other?

This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to make good on that pinky promise.

Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well, you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone.

But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me.

He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart is starting to cave. For my best friend.

It seems so far off, when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you’re standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

This is the first time I have read this author and it definitely won't be the last. This was a fun, heart warming and romantic story about two besties finding love.

Reese and Erin have been best friends for some 20 years and they both are heavily into the other. But Reese is a guy that always is in a relationship and well Erin is very anti romance. Years before her dad fell out of love with her mom and that has really hit her hard and so she has a hard time trusting in love.

Reese has loved her through everything but when he realized what he was up against he moved away and tried to find love with others but through the years he and Erin have been besties. Now he is up for a job and is planning on moving back home again. When he does, he decides to see if her can date Erin because he knows she is it for him.

This story is how he gets Erin to give him a shot at romance and well it is not easy but Reese knows she is worth it. So he works hard to make it happen and it was a really beautiful to read about. I totally loved every second of this fun romance.

Electric Blue Love by Rebecca Jenshak

Title: Electric Blue Love
Author: Rebecca Jenshak
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: June 18, 2018

About the Book

Court
Here’s a thing I learned a long time ago… guys and girls don’t think about relationships the same way. Especially in college. So, when I caught the girl sitting next to me on the plane reading a magazine article on how to get out of the friend zone, I did something I never do – I got involved.

One look into her electric blue eyes and the darkness inside of me faded.
Light and hope radiated from her like a neon sign.

Guys like me know how to get the girl, but we rarely get to keep them.

Bianca
Girls like me fade into the background. Nice, quiet, smart girls without the latest trendy clothes. My friendship with Court started as an opportunity to get inside the male mind, but it turned into so much more.

His touch sent current coursing through my veins.
His kiss jolted my heart.

But here is something I learned a long time ago… you can’t force people to love you back. No matter how much you long for them.

Flying coach was bullshit. The crying babies and the cramped seats weren’t even the worst of it, although admittedly not a perk. The real problem with sitting in the back of the plane was the comradery among the other passengers. In first-class no one tried to chat about the weather or ask the dreaded “Are you visiting or returning home?”. No, in first class we sat in our large, reclining seats with plenty of leg room, cold drink on the tray table, laptop open, and we minded our own damn business.
I didn’t sit in first class because of some ego trip where I needed to flaunt my better than average salary around. I did it because I preferred the silence. Also, I traveled so much it was almost always a free upgrade. Not today.
At least I’d been lucky enough to snag an aisle seat. Unlike the girl sitting in 8B. She didn’t look up as I shrugged off my suit jacket and placed it with my carry-on bag in the overhead bin. She stared down at the magazine in her hands, a pen gripped in her mouth.
Pink lips were wrapped around the blue pen and her eyebrows were drawn together in deep concentration. The only indication I had that she knew her seat neighbor had arrived was the way she shielded the magazine with an elbow as I slid into my seat. Her stance reminded me of those smart kids who strategically placed their arm around the edge of the desk so that no one could cheat off their test answers.
Intrigued, I settled in and peeked over her arm and down at the glossy pages only catching the headline: How to Get Out of the Friend Zone and Land the Guy of Your Dreams. My eyes trailed up to the young woman so enthralled with such a ludicrous title and I studied her closer.
She was beautiful, but not in an in your face way. I definitely couldn’t see her being banned to the friend zone. Her blonde hair was piled up in a bun on the top of her head, face clear and tanned even in the dreary March weather we’d been having. A faded, oversized floral dress was worn over leggings and sparkly shoes completed a look that was a cross between a preppy sorority girl and an artsy free spirit. She dressed in a way that told me she didn’t know she was beautiful or if she knew, she just didn’t care enough to conform to a style.
Judging by her reading material I was sold on the first option.
As the other passengers filed into their seats, I found myself intrigued and unable to focus on anything but 8B. I glanced over politely, hoping she’d look up and make eye contact so I could get a better look at her. No luck. She kept her focus on the garbage reading material in front of her as the cabin doors were closed and the flight attendants prepared for departure. When we’d reached twenty thousand feet and she still hadn’t so much as side-eyed me, I gave up and pulled out my laptop to do some work.
I stared at the reports in front of me for five minutes, not reading a word, before I gave up and closed the laptop with a snap. She jumped, startled, and I turned to give her my attention. When her eyes finally found mine, I inhaled sharply.
Bright blue eyes were outlined with a heavy hand on the eyeliner or eyeshadow, whatever it was called, in a striking blue. I couldn’t decide if was a fashion statement or a fashion disaster, but her eyes held mine captive and my lips parted to speak, only no words came out. We stared for a moment too long, neither saying a word, until she glanced down at her exposed reading and flipped it shut.

This story was just WOW! It is the first one I have read by this author and I was super impressed. The main character in the story is Bianca, she is a senior college student with a wonderful family in NY who goes to college in CT. On a plane ride from a visit with her family she meets Court, an older man, who ends up giving her advice on catching this guy she really likes, Todd.

What happens is they up being phone buddies and he doles out lots of helpful advice. Along the way the two start to become good friends. But Court aside from his age is very different from Bianca. He is an orphan and he tries to have casual relationship with women who do not have close families. But before he knows what is happening Bianca breaks thru all his walls.

This was a wonderful story with a side story about Bianca's mom who has MS needing help from Todd's uncle and how Court ties into that story will keep you guessing. I loved every second of this story and it is one you won't want to miss.

This is book 3 in the series and one of my new favorites. It stars Richard and Madison who have been together for many years already but just as friends with benefits. But now Richard is ready for more and this is his story.

Meanwhile sports agent, Madison has been thrown some curves. Her dad is sick and she really leans on Richard during this time in her life. I loved watching these two open to each other and their feelings.

This story is not about falling in love, these two have been in love for years. It is about them opening up and taking the love leap and I really enjoyed every minute of it.

The story does have a side Cancer storyline with Madison's father and it was really well done and I learned a lot about that form of Cancer. Kudos to the author for writing this storyline and in such a wonderful way.

The Bombshell Effect by Karla Sorensen

Allie Sutton just got a new job.
Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) ... the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.
Luke Pierson does not want a new boss.
What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.
For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.

"This book is EVERYTHING I love as a reader. It's hot, it's hilarious, it's witty and smart. YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE." - Amazon bestselling author Kandi Steiner
"This book is like my own personal catnip. It has sports, it has tension, and the sexy bits are amazing. The perfect blend of hot and heartwarming." - Amazon bestselling author Amy Daws
"She took one of my favorite tropes and totally dominated it, she killed it. Sorensen is a football junkie who took her passion for a sport and inserted it into a story. The Bombshell Effect is her gaming winning touchdown." - SBR Review

Just before they entered the room, something snapped through my ears at the sound of her voice, but it was nothing I could place, nothing I could pin down with certainty. We all stood to greet her, and as soon as I got the first glimpse of her dress, everything around me slowed to a sluggish, weighted crawl.
It was almost as if my brain couldn’t process what I was seeing, so the vision of her was reduced to blocks of color.
Tan shoes.
Tan legs.
Red dress.
Blond hair.
Red lips.
White teeth.
Blue-green eyes.
When it all snapped together, I lost my breath in a pained whoosh. This could not be happening.
As she smiled brightly at Dayvon, giving him her full attention, I realized she hadn’t seen me yet. My next-door neighbor, the one who had called me an arrogant asshole less than twenty-four hours earlier, was the new owner of the Washington Wolves. And she hadn’t seen me yet.
Suddenly, I understood the rampant tug of nerves and the unshakable feeling that something was about to go very, very wrong. I swiped my hand over my mouth and let out a slow breath, straightening my shoulders and holding my head up high. I could do this. I’d stared down three hundred-pound linebackers who wanted to rip the helmet off my head as they tackled my ass to the ground.
I could do this.
She turned in my direction, and I saw the moment it registered. The hitch in her step, the narrowing of her eyes, the slight purse in her scarlet red lips.
You,” she whispered.
Everything stopped. All eyes turned in my direction. The temperature in the room with that one hushed word from her went from cordial to downright glacial.
“Oh, shit,” I muttered under my breath. She crossed her arms tightly over her chest. The chest I’d ogled while she shoved cupcakes at me.
There was absolutely no part of this that could end well.

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.

HOSTED BY:

This was a really fun story with a football twist and is a great first story in a new series. It stars footballer, Luke who is also a single dad and Allie Sutton, his new neighbor and the two start out as enemies and then Luke also finds out Allie is his new team owner.

It was extremely well done as enemies fall in love and I loved the single dad twist to the story. Many times Luke is an absolute JERK to Allie but Allie rises above it. I loved watching these two get to know each other and fall into lust until well.... I am not spoiling that.

This was a wonderful story that made me fall in love with every single character and I cannot wait for more in this series.
