Blurb: Being labelled a player never stopped me from being successful with women. Until I met Truly Harbury.
Truly was the first girl who ever turned me down.
The first female friend I ever had.
And she might just be the first woman I ever fall in love with.
When an emergency means she needs my help running her family’s charity, I’m happy to introduce her to the glitz and glamour of the London business world—taking her to dinners, coaching her through speeches, zipping up the sexy evening gown I helped her pick out.
The more time we spend together, the more I want to convince her I’m not a man to avoid, that we’re not as unsuited as she believes.
She sees herself as the book-reading, science-loving introvert while I’m the dangerous, outgoing, charmer.
She thinks I love parties and people whereas she prefers pajamas and a takeaway.
What she doesn’t realize is that I like everything about her–the way her smile lights up a room, how her curves light up my imagination, and especially the way her lips taste when coated with tequila.
She’s the first woman I ever fell in love with. I just need to know if she could ever love me too.
*International Player is a complete standalone contemporary romance

Excerpt: In, two, three, out, two. Shit. I tried again. In, two, three, out, two, three. It wasn’t helping. My heart was hammering against my chest, my palms were sweaty, and images of hundreds and hundreds of faces staring at me flashed into my head.
I ignored the knock on my office door. I was too concerned about what was happening to me. Was it possible to have a heart attack at twenty-eight?
“Truly,” a familiar, male voice called.
I couldn’t look up. Couldn’t even open my eyes.
Warm hands covered my knees and body heat radiated in front of me.
“Are you okay? Take a breath.” What was Noah doing here?
I nodded, still counting my breath. As if he was familiar with the technique, he began counting along with me. “Out, two, three. In, two, three. Out, two, three.”
His voice was calming. The counting hadn’t worked when I’d done it alone, but hearing him counting too helped me settle into a rhythm.
Eventually, his hands slid from my knees, and I sat up and opened my eyes, right into his.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his brow
furrowed.
I was such an idiot. A mess. And this was why Noah and I had only ever been friends. He was used to seeing me in no makeup with a smear of kung pao chicken on my face. And now I was panicking about a meeting that he would think nothing of. Yes, Noah only ever saw me at my absolute worst.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. I didn’t want him to see me like this.
“Do you want some water?” He stood and poured me a glass of sparkling water from the bottle on my desk.
“Thanks.” I took a sip and sat back in my chair.
“I came to talk to you. Apologize if I seemed harsh last night. I’m sorry if I made this worse, Truly.”
I cleared my throat. “I’m fine. Just a little . . .” I watched as he slid into the chair opposite my desk, his long legs unfurling in front of him. “I just have a lot to do.”
He nodded, steepling his fingers. “And I’m here to help.”

This is book 1 in a new series about the Assassin Players kids. This is my second book by the author and I have never read any of the previous Assassin stories before. I found it easily stands alone and made me want to read those other stories.

This is the story about Hockey player Aiden whose father played on Shellis' mothers hockey team. He throws a HUGE party and Shelli has always had a crush on him even if she is way younger than him. She convinces her friend to set her up with Aiden and the two have lots of sex but he has no idea who she is, he thinks she is a call girl.

She leaves and never gives him her real name as she is pretty heart broken and leaving town to go back home to her family. Meanwhile Aiden is traded and guess who ends up seeing each other again. The two end up meeting again and that was my favorite scene in the whole book when Aiden realizes who Shelli is.

This was a really fun story and while I did not like the beginning. I kinda was grossed out by the call girl/sex scene and that Aiden does not like to wear condoms. But don't give up then because it get really better after that and I loved how Shelli makes Aiden work for it.

Another character I LOVED was Lucas Brooks as Aiden's dad. He sees how Aiden treats Shelli and I loved how he calls him on it. He was my 2nd favorite character next to the two main characters.

Excerpt

A light sound takes me out of my own head. I look to my left, and what I see robs me of my breath. I stand taller, suddenly unable to remember my own thoughts. A profile of porcelain skin, a sharp nose, and—Jesus—a full red lip claim my attention. Hair the color of amber piled high on her head, soft tendrils frame her face. I want to let it down, comb my fingers through it, see if it’s as soft as it looks…and I keep looking, because it’s impossible not to.
The smooth lines of her nape are set in grace, my tongue already mapping the perfect path down her skin. My eyes keep going because there’s no stopping them now. Moving lower to the dress, the color is a deep red, the neckline plunging. Being six foot one has its advantages. Even from the side, I can see the dip of cleavage. I lick my lips, already begging for a taste, wanting to know if she’s as sweet as she looks. Then I continue on, because wild horses couldn’t drag me away. I need to see more.
Unfortunately, as far as skin goes, the rest is covered by the floor-length gown. Whoever she is, she’s stunning, and I can’t stop staring. She has pleasure and sin written all over her. I’m hard now. My body ready to do what is instinctual to me.
For the first time in…well, forever, I want to be reckless. I want to throw her over my shoulder and drag her to the nearest closet. Sift through all that red, lush fabric and find her pussy. Put my mouth there, sweep my tongue across her clit. Drag an orgasm out of her that makes her see stars, makes her see no one but me. I laugh under my breath because that would be a first.
As if she knows what I’m thinking, she turns my way, and I’m knocked on my ass. My first thought: I want to get down on my hands and knees and thank God for this gift from heaven. Jesus. If I thought she was gorgeous from the side, head-on, she’s exquisite. Her eyes are a moss green. No, no—that description will not do. Because that doesn’t begin to describe soft sage peppered with golden yellow flecks. They’re clear and…wait, vulnerable? Or…I don’t know, apprehensive? How can a creature so beautiful be so scared? The million-dollar question—or in my case, the billionaire-dollar question.
When I realize I’ve been staring too long, I force a word from my lips. Any word will do at this point. “Hello.”
Just brilliant, Jace.
“Hello,” she says back, almost reluctantly. “Can I help you with something?”
“Pardon me?”
She gestures with one hand, long fingernails painted red to match her dress. Red: it’s a bold color, feisty—daring, even. I wonder if she’s adventurous behind closed doors, if she likes to fuck on desks, up against walls. I wonder if she enjoys taking it in what I’m sure is a perfectly curved ass. I sure as hell want to find out. I’d relish the opportunity to have her mile-long legs wrapped around my waist, grinding on my cock.
“You were staring at me.”
And thinking salacious thoughts, but I won’t mention that.
“I was?” It comes out like a question when there is absolutely no doubt it’s the truth.
The corner of her mouth turns up, but it doesn’t match her eyes. What is that I see? I want to figure it out, and then I want to take it away for her.
“Did you have a question?”
“A question?” Did I even ask a question? Why is my brain not computing? I never waver, but this woman is throwing me off my game.
Maybe she can read my thoughts. Perhaps she knows the question inquiring minds want to know: How does she like to fuck?
I’ve been silent too long, imagining all the different ways I could bring her to orgasm, and now it looks like she’s holding back a laugh. I want to hear what her laugh sounds like. Is it high and melodic or low and raspy?
“Yes. Did you have one?”
I can feel the crease slash my forehead. “I’m…”
An idiot. Confused. Tongue-tied by your beauty.
Yeah, that’ll do.
Her eyebrows lift. “You’re…”
I clear my throat and step into my confidence once again. Then I edge closer, the scent of something floral floating under my nose. “Tongue-tied by your beauty.”
She actually laughs, and here I thought I was smoother than that. But hey, I made her laugh, so point for me.

His Little Wife Lie by Sloan Storm

Blurb

IT'S NOT A LIE IF WE BELIEVE IT'S TRUE.

That's what Griff Foster said right after he asked me to be his wife.
Sweet, isn't he?

Let's be real: his proposal had nothing to do with romance. Falling in love isn't in his DNA. With piercing blue eyes and a hard body to match, he goes through women like candy.

But he saved my life.

I promised I'd repay him. I should learn when to keep my mouth shut.
Griff needs a Mrs. Right Now, and he's convinced I'm the perfect actress.

In case I have any doubts, there are seven badly needed zeroes on a check with my name on it to help make up my mind.

Ugh.

We're totally fake. Nothing but lies.
Except the way his lips feel on mine.
Except the way his touch sets my body ablaze.
Except the way my soul aches when he looks into my eyes.

He says that without me, he loses everything.
But if I've got the upper hand, why does it feel like he's in control?

There's only one thing missing from this arrangement.
What happens to my heart when it's over?

That was it!

What kind of fucking game was he trying to play? I made a complete fool out of myself, then he tried to turn it around on me! No one was going to treat me like this, especially not him.

Once in my room, I raced toward the closet, grabbed my bag, and dragged it out. Fuck this place!

Tiny Me chimed in. No, no! Wait! What are you doing? The money!

"I don't care about the money!" I yelped, clutching my fingers into fists. "Don't you understand? I care about him!" Oh shit. No. No.

I sensed a presence in the doorway. "What did you say?"

"Stay away from me." I spun in place, biting my lip and sputtering hate. "I'm leaving. You can't stop me."

He didn't listen. Of course. I mean, why start now?

Marching right toward me, Griff continued, "You said you cared about me. Don't try and deny it."

Yeah, no kidding. You ass. "Of course, I do! Jesus! Do you know how many men I've offered my virginity to? Do you? Take a wild guess."

Griff didn't respond. What could he say? He already knew the answer.

I poked him in the chest. "Just one. Guess how that went over?"

Griff's nostrils flared. His eyes narrowed. I was pissing him off. Well. Good! Now he knew how I felt!

"Move," I snarled, edging past him.

I felt the handle of my suitcase rip free from my hand. By the time I turned to look and see what happened, he'd swept me up me in his arms, racing for the bed.

No!

"Put me down!" I floated in his embrace until he slammed me with a thump, pinning me beneath him. Struggle was useless, but I gave it everything I had, jerking from side-to-side until the instant his lips found mine.

Oh fuck. No! Yes. Yes. Yeeessss…

The passion from his kiss ripped through my body like wildfire, reigniting the embers he left smoldering inside of me with his refusal. Griff's pelvis pressed into me, the impossible hardness between his legs threatened to reawaken my lust into an inferno until my wits returned.

"Stop!" I gasped, breaking my mouth free. My palms went flat, shoving against his torso. "Get off of me!"

His gaze gave me the answer. Never. Griff ignored my pleas and gripped harder, making me feel he'd crush me into dust if I uttered another word. Reaching up, I clawed and scratched, digging my nails into the steel of his thick chest. But my rage only stoked him, and he groaned, his mouth invading mine again, filling it with his tongue. My resistance turned to vapor, whisps of hate floating away from me while Griff took what he wanted.

At last, he pulled away. I looked at him, my vision glassy from the struggle, each of us fighting for a breath.

"We can't." I exhaled. "It's a mistake."

Wait. That wasn't no. Was it?

He licked his lips and sank his pelvis deeper, driving it hard between my legs. I stifled a whimper.

"You're right," he hummed, reaching for one of my tits, cupping it in his grasp. Uhhh. My eyes rolled back in my head, his touch had me on the verge of blackout.

"It's the biggest mistake of all," he warned. "No turning back. No way out."

No way out. His words reached into my soul, giving me the answer my brain couldn't. I don't want one. Don't give me one. If you do, I might take it.

Wordless, Griff moved over me, a shadow threatening the last shreds of my chastity. With my legs spread and my innocence at risk, I inched my mouth toward his lips when he whispered his final threat.

"At last."

This was a really fun book with some big twists in it. I don't want to spoil too much of the story so there are some things I won't spill.

This was pretty well written and edited. Not the best story I have ever read but I did really like the storyline and I absolutely loved the characters. It appears to be a fairly new author and I was impressed and really enjoyed it.

It is a trope about a billionaire who is dying and he tells his grandson, Griff to get hitched or he will donate his company to environmentalists.

Then we meet Lily and Lily is on a  date from HELL and I mean hell, like murder and rape when Griff rides to her rescue. She appears to not like him much even though he saved her and so he thinks that means she is not about money and so he decides she'd make a great pretend wife/fiancée.

But he has to get her to agree and so he is a BIG schemer but with this really great heart and he and Lily really hit it off and before we know it, well love is in the air. But what happens when Lily discovers how he manipulated her?

That's pretty much part 1 of the book. The second part is Griff and Lily in love. But someone is out to get them and that's the part I don't want to spoil. This was not my favorite part of the story but it was a very interesting aspect to the story and really kept me guessing.

Desperately Seeking Roommate by Micalea Smeltzer

Blurb

WANTED: A ROOMMATE
Requirements
 1.     Don’t be a smoker. That’s gross.
2.     Don’t be a jerk. I have no time to deal with your mood swings.
3.     Clean up after yourself. Is it really so hard to put dirty clothes where they belong?
If you meet these qualifications, call me.
Sincerely,
Desperately Seeking Roommate

When I put the ad in my university’s newspaper, the last thing I ever expect is for the star football player to respond.
From what I know of him, Abel Russo is a womanizer and an absolute jerk.
Sadly, he’s the only thing stopping me from being evicted by my annoyingly gleeful landlord.
It should be easy enough—there’s no chance we’ll fall for each other. But then he gives me lingering looks, and I might just be looking back.
All I wanted was a roommate, but I’m about to get so much more than I bargained for.

Abel’s lips turn up but he doesn’t take his eyes off the road. “Like what you see, Blondie?”
My cheeks redden at being caught, but I stick my chin haughtily into the air unwilling to cower at being called out. “Maybe there’s a bug on your face.”
That smile of his widens. “There’s not.”
“So confident,” I mutter, crossing my arms over my chest and staring out the windshield.
“Why wouldn’t I be? You kissed me.”
“I kissed you back, big difference.” I kick my flip-flops off and rest my bare feet on the dashboard.
“Kissing back is still kissing.”
“Ugh,” I toss my hands up, “you’re impossible.”
“Impossibly handsome? Charming? Irresistible? All three? Definitely all three.” He answers his own question.

Hi. I’m Micalea. Ma-call-e-uh. Weird name, I know. My mom must’ve known I was going to be odd even in the womb. I’ve written a lot of books. Like a lot. Don’t ask me how many, I don’t remember at this point. I have an unhealthy addiction to Diet Coke but I can’t seem to break the habit. I listen to way too much music and hedgehogs have taken over my life. Crazy is the word that best sums up my life, but it’s the good kind of crazy and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

This is a standalone romance between two very opposite people who find friendshipand then love as they become roomies.

Lou is desperately seeking  roommate. Abel is desperately seeking his own place. The two go to the same college but are definitely not in the same circle. He is a hotshot football player and she is sorta a college nerd. Very quirky, funny and her own person. The two meet and he is trying to be serious about football and not distract himself with girls.

That means the two becomes besties. Both are pretty awesome characters and I loved watching their friendship bloom. Lou is a character and she kept me in stitches as she charmed Abel. Abel is a total sweetheart and I loved watching him be so good to Lou.

This was a great college age romance where roomies become friends and then fall in love. It was great watching two very opposite people find the person that is perfect for them even if they are very different.

Sparks fly and history repeats itself, when they find themselves thrown together. This second chance might be their last, and Gage is determined to do whatever it takes to prove to Laurel this time will be different. Can he find a way to win her back or she always be the one who got away?

About the Author:

Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast.

Kat’s a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max). When she’s not writing, she’s either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach.

Kat has been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article–a review of a rock concert–for $10 in 1985. Since then she’s been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles. As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey. She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…

This story is about Gage who owns a Hockey Team in Alaska. He is older, a billionaire and divorced, and former military. It is part of a series about the Hockey Team, the Alaskan Blizzards but it only features those characters from other books, so it easily stands alone.

Gage has been a favorite character throughout the series and he is in love with his ex wife. Lauren, is a former hockey player and coach for the Women's Olympic Team. Gage brings her to Alaska to help him out with his team. The why, is something I don't want to spoil as it is a big part of the storyline.

I want to say first that this book was absolutely awesome. I truly loved it. It kept me on the edge of my seat as I watched whether they would or wouldn't make the playoffs and what would happen with Gage and Lauren. Those two are soul mates and meant to be but at times Gage is an idiot because he makes the same errors as he made some 15 years before. Despite that I loved this story SO much. It is well written and extremely heart felt and I absolutely loved every second of this story.

Gage and Lauren were college sweethearts and have known each other for 15 years. They both love each other but Gage went into the military and it caused all kinds of issues for Lauren, as soon as he got out she asked for a divorce and though they are friendly and share friends they are no longer married.

Gage brings Lauren to Alaska and wants a 2nd chance with her. But he is still keeping secrets from her and she is keeping secrets from him, so they really need to learn to trust each other.

I LOVED Lauren. SO MUCH!! I loved Gage too at the start of this book. I would say he was a favorite character of mine before this story however he was a total idiot. Years later he is still making the same stupid mistakes and as the book progressed I felt he betrayed Lauren over and over again.

I really wanted her to punish him a lot more than she did. And I don't think I could have forgiven him. In the back drop of the story we get to see the Blizzards fight to become a cohesive team. I loved this book and Lauren's story but Gage was a gigantic jerk until he finally gets a clue.

JUNK MAIL by Kendall Ryan

Junk Mail, a hilariously sexy standalone by New York Times bestselling author is live and available everywhere.

It all started with a sexy selfie. 🍆

A deliciously naughty, tell-everyone-you-know read!

About The Book

It all started with a sexy selfie. Texted to the wrong number. Oops. Not my finest moment—but I have nothing to be ashamed of. She thought I was no better, and I quote, than the knuckle-dragging douche-bags she was never dating again.

It was a stupid dare from a girl I’d met online, but since she’d given me a fake number, I didn’t feel bad that my interests were suddenly focused elsewhere—on the fiery and sharp-tongued, Peyton that I found myself sparring with over text for the rest of the evening.

The following day, my case of mistaken identity came back to bite me in the banana. When I strolled into the office, I was introduced to Peyton as the new client I needed to win over. The Peyton , in case you're not tracking.

And let’s just say she had my full attention. Brains? Check. Beauty? Oh yeah. And the best part? She hated me on sight. Dear God, do I love a challenge. Let the games begin.

This story was pretty awesome though I was told  Peyton has a hate on for Josh and I never saw that at all. This is a phrase from the book description:

And the best part? She hated me on sight.

I didn't see that at all. I kept wondering if it would happen but it never did. This story was fun and pretty awesome and very flirty but there was no enemies or hate at all between the two main characters.

Josh is the owner of a company that owns some coffeehouses with his partner. He is lonely and has been meeting women on the internet. One such gives him her number so they can start texting. BUT he ends up sexting Peyton. It was so cute that sexting part. He is VERY bad at it and it was so cute.

The next day he meets a new business associate Peyton and well I am not spoiling how much fun that scene was for both of them. This is a really fun and flirty and HOT story and I truly loved every second of it. It is very much a finding love in the work place romance as Peyton and Josh end up as partners of sorts.
