Miles and Sydney work together and also, she/he are best friends. They both are crushing on each other as well. But both fear starting something that could end up breaking their friendship and work relationship.

In this story Miles is a doctor and he is the one needing fixing, hence the title of this book. Can Syd make him see that he is a totally awesome guy, and that love is worth taking a risk on?

This was an enjoyable story. I loved how long Syd has wanted Miles. Miles is a guy who is a serial dater. Meaning over the time he has worked with Syd, six years, he has had several girlfriends. As the story begins, he has just been dumped by a girlfriend who suggested he date the one he really likes, Syd. He does not date anyone else in this book, but he also has just broken up with his latest.

At times the book was a confusing. At one point it tells us that Syd is Miles best friend, but it also says they have never hung out, outside work. I did love their relationship and how comfortable they are with each other. At times I felt Miles had no clue what he wanted and because of his past, he was a bit immature, because he ran from his past rather than getting over it.

I loved seeing the gang from the Moore family series and hearing what they are up too. I also LOVED Syd's siblings and I hope the author gives them stories as well. This was a fun book and I really enjoyed it.

ON SALE NOW! PUFFIN BAY by Annie Dyer (Roman and Amalie)

ABOUT THE BOOK
Heartbreak led me to Puffin Bay, searching for peace in a small, coastal town. Four years later, my bar is thriving and my next business is just what the town needs.

It doesn’t need Roman Tominey. Arrogant, city-boy, suit-wearing grump - he knows how to push every one of my buttons, and after an evening of bad decisions, he knows how to push that one too.

When Roman’s newly found teenage son joins him, Roman’s summer stay is extended. We spend the days arguing over a building project the local council insist we do together, and the evenings with him sneaking into my room.

Then Roman’s ideas for Puffin Bay’s development cause all out war between us. Those sparks between us? They become weapons. Only Roman doesn’t fire his. It seems he wants something more than another zero on the end of his bank balance and he might just discard his suit - and its buttons - to keep on pressing mine.

This is Amalie's story. I really liked her when I read the Callaghan series so I have been waiting for her happily ever after for YEARS. This is the authors new series and we see a lot of her previous characters from other series pop in.

In this book she lives on an island called Anglesea in England  in an area called Puffin Bay. She has lived there for four years, is 38 and runs a Pub and B&B there called Puffin Inn. It's a quiet town during the off season and busy with tourists in the summer. She has goals of building the town up and providing jobs to the towns people. Money is not an issue with her, its more about becoming a part of the town and helping it grow.

Trouble comes with a man named Roman who has started buying up the town. He is in the area as he is trying to take care of his grumpy grandpa. Him buying up the property causes sunny and loveable Amalie to feel like he is after her dreams and is getting in the way of her dreams for the town.

Roman has some big secrets and the way he shares the info with Amalie was a bit jarring. Her reaction was shall we say on the mild side.

One aspect of this book is that Amalie has no desire for marriage and babies and love totally freaks her out. Bur Roman who has very little family, well he wants love and commitment. His bigger concern with why he hasn't done that yet is that he travels a lot for his job and it makes relationships hard.

This was a fun story about two very different people who have different dreams and goals starting off as adversaries and finding what each are searching for.

Falling for the Jerk - Vaughn Brothers Series - by Amy Alves (Jensen and Gracie)

Falling for the Jerk by Amy Alves is now live!

ABOUT THE BOOK

It was an accident, I swear. Jensen Vaughn may be the absolute worst, but I didn't push him down those stairs.
Not intentionally, anyway.

It was supposed to be my graceless butt lying in a broken heap at the bottom of the steps.
But no, the golden boy firefighter and beloved town hero had to take the fall meant for me.

He saved me.
And now the whole town thinks I maimed him on purpose.

So despite our mutual disdain, I'm compelled to help the surly man determined to endure his recovery alone.
Fortunately for him, I'm not deterred by doors slamming in my face.
Because the physical therapist most qualified to get him back on his feet (literally) is me.

Convincing him to put aside our differences long enough for me to help with his recovery was hard.
Accidentally falling for the jerk? Stupidly easy.

Jensen is the main character in this book, Falling for the Jerk, and he has three siblings, Olivia, his twin Jaxon and older brother, Brody. Jensen is the Assistant Fire Chief and his twin, Jaxon is a fire fighter, and his brother Brody is the Chief of Police. He has a frenemy in the town and her name is Gracie who works at the town medical clinic.

This is a romance between the grumpy assistant fire chief, Jenson and his nemesis, Gracie who is a sunny, Physical Therapist (PT) who is extremely accident prone.

They have this really fun adversarial relationship where he saves her from herself most of the time. Gracie is very accident prone because she has disability that makes her very accident prone.

When Jenson gets hurt very badly and Gracie wants to nurse him or at least PT him until he recovers, well that's when the fun begins.

Gracie is awesome. I loved her so much because she has a disability called Dyspraxia and she is a therapist that works with people/kids who have a speech issues. This really hit home for me because my daughter has Apraxia and its similar to the issue that Gracie has/had.

I really adored this romance between two people who start out as enemies with lots of bad feelings between the two. Gracie has a past littered with bad men choices and Jenson has an ex who is still messing with his brain. Can they both overcome hurt feelings' and let love win, well you will have to read this fun story to find out.

SEDUCTRESS - Whiskey Dolls Book 4- by Jessica Prince (Hardin and Ford)

I knew my best friend’s little sister was off limits, I just couldn’t help myself.

When a tragic accident caused Ford Grimes to trade the fast pace of the city for the refuge that came with being a small-town firefighter, the last thing he wanted was romance. Then he met the seductive manager of the local pizzeria and found himself questioning all the rules he’d put into place for his new life.

Hardin Shields may as well have had a neon sign strapped to her that said do not touch in big, glowing letters. The single mother had enough on her plate. With a family restaurant to run and an ex who was making her life difficult, the last thing she needed was for her unrequited crush on her older brother’s best friend to take a turn into . . . something.

When the chemistry becomes too hot to ignore, they decide to keep things light and fun, but when danger comes lurking, threatening Hardin, Ford has to decide if he’s strong enough to let go of the pain of the past in order to protect the woman who’s coming to mean too much, or let her go.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

Hardin is a single mom to an adorable 7-year-old daughter and runs the family pizza restaurant. She is an honorary Whiskey Doll. That is because brother, Owen is engaged to Whiskey Doll, Asher and she is very close with all the women. She got pregnant at age 19 so I believe she is 26 now.

Ford is 39 and moved to town about four years before and he had a flirt with Hardin until he found out she was a single mom. He hurt her by just cutting off his flirting with her. Instead he became close friends with Hardin's brother Owen.

Now years later he has a hidden crush on her. She is ready to restart dating again and this makes Ford rethink if he can stand seeing her with someone else. I LOVED Hardin super much. She is a tough single mom and has the cutest and sweetest kid. Ford hurt her years ago, but she let it go and they formed a casual friendship.

I did love Ford's scenes with Hardin's daughter Hazel. She really made the softer side to his personality come out. I also really enjoyed his relationship with Owen and while I did not like how he treated Hardin, the truth is she allowed it and he accepted it. One aspect I liked about him was his protective nature for Hardin and how he could not resist her once he kissed her.

While I loved seeing Hardin find a guy and I liked how the book ended, I did have issues with Ford and how he treated Hardin. But once he really started to come to grips with his past is when I started to like him. I would have loved to have had more scenes with him as his softer side came out more. This is not my favorite book in the series, but I did enjoy it.
