Combust by Laramie Briscoe is now live!

ABOUT THE BOOK

From USA Today and WSJ Bestselling author Laramie Briscoe comes the next book in the Bradford Station Series!

The heat is on.

Situated on the Tennessee and North Carolina border, this town is nothing like you've ever experienced. Hot guys, the women they love, and a town worth saving. Bradford, TN is the epicenter of the next great romance dynasty.

Firefighters, family, and community...

Cameron Hines

I take my job very seriously. Both of them. I'm a Lieutenant at Bradford Station Company One, and I'm a single dad to a little girl who completely brightens my world.

It's not easy, holding it all together, but I do my best. Honestly, I wouldn't be doing as well as I am without my best friend's sister. Natalie treats my daughter like her own, and watches her for me without complaint.

Things are status quo until one day I see her in a different light. She quits being the babysitter, and becomes a woman. One I'll do anything for.

When her brother finds out all bets are off, and I have to answer for my indiscretions. He and I are sent out on a mission to find a lost child in the woods. We have to bury the hatchet and do our jobs, but when the worst happens, we have to make a decision that neither of us ever imagined.

This is an age gap, brothers best friend and single dad romance between Cameron and Natalie. This is told in duel POV by Cam and Natalie but we also get to see Gauge's POV, the best friend and Natalie's brother.

In this story Natalie is 24 and has been watching Cam's 6-year-old daughter for three years. Cam is a very dedicated father and firefighter, and he is coming out of a bad marriage. But he is in lust with his daughter's caretaker, Natalie. But there are obstacles and a big one is her brother, Gauge.

Honestly, I did not understand why Gauge was an issue. He loves and respects Cam and Cam is this awesome dad and not a player at all. But he also is in a lot of pain and recovering from a painful accident, so I did understand not wanting to stress him out.

Natalie on one hand is very mature and a wonderful caretaker of Trinity, Cam's daughter. But on the other hand, she is at a crossroads in her life, not knowing what she wants to do with it. I loved that she freely gave her heart to Cam and Trinity, but she also was confused about what she wanted to do with her life. I really loved that she was not 100% together.

Cam tries his best to be the best dad, friend and boss to Natalie, Gauge and Trinity. I loved that he opened his eyes and started to see that he deserved more in life and seeing the treasure that was Natalie.

I adored this story so much. The author is really awesome at creating these vulnerable heroes but also making them very strong as well. I am truly loving this series and cannot wait to read Chance's story next.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Charmed by the Player - Never Say Never Football Romance #3 - by Carina Rose (Harley and Lucas)

 ABOUT THE BOOK

Things I hadn’t expected to happen on my birthday . . .
1. To go from brunette to orange when I was aiming for blonde.
2. To run into my ex and his new girlfriend, who happened to be sweeter than my favorite candy bar.
3. To literally collide with a wall of muscle belonging to Lucas Donovan, the extremely sexy cornerback on the Virginia Thunder.

Did I say collide? No, I didn’t just collide, I lingered. How could I not? The man smelled like a dream, felt like heaven, and looked like a Greek god. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought my best friend wished him for me when she helped me blow out my candles. She was all about me finding Mr. Right, except I’d never been lucky in love . . . nor was I looking.

And despite all of his wonderful attributes, Lucas wasn’t my type. So when he asked for my number, I declined. Why? Because I knew he had cleat chasers and numerous athletic supporters at his beck and call. Totally not my scene. Instead, I decided to chalk our encounter up to a perfect ending to a perfectly messed-up day.

Thinking I’d never see him again, I was shocked when he popped into my store to ask me out on a date. To say I was thrown a bit off - kilter would be an understatement. Maybe that was why I eventually accepted. Or it could be because I knew my best friend would disown me if I kept turning him down. Not to mention, the man had enough charm to fill my boutique and then some.

Finally happy, I figured my luck had changed. Maybe Lucas Donovan was my Mr. Right. But then my past slammed into my present. And all I wondered was what that meant for our future.

This was a very charming romance. I loved Harley and I loved Lucas. It features a bit of insta lust/love as Lucas falls for Harley pretty much right away.

I also loved that the ex-got what was coming to him and the whole secret identity thing, I really enjoyed.

I did not love the misunderstanding, but I did like how fast Lucas realizes his mistake and how he tries to rectify it.

This was a really fun story with awesome characters and a big plot twist along the way, but I am not spoiling the plot twist.

It takes place in the football world, but it was only the environment, it didn't feature much in the way of sports within the romance.

Meet Scarlett Cole

The tattoo across my right hip says it all really. A Life Less Ordinary. Inked by the amazingly talented Luke Wessman at the Wooster Street Social Club (a.k.a. New York Ink). Why is it important? Well, it sums up my view on life. That we should all aspire to live a life that is less boring, less predictable. Be bold, and do something amazing. I’ve made some crazy choices. I’ve been a car maker, a consultant, and even a senior executive at a large retailer running strategy.

Born in England, spent time in the U.S. and Japan, before ending up in Canada where I met my own, personal hero – all six and a half feet of him. Both of us are scorpios! Yeah, I know! Should have checked the astrological signs earlier, but somehow it works for us. We have two amazing kids, who I either could never part with or could easily be convinced to sell on e-bay.

I’ve wanted to be a writer for a really long time. Check through my office cupboards or my computer and you’ll find half written stories and character descriptions everywhere. Now I'm getting the chance to follow that dream.

This is the final book in the series and what an original rock star romance it was. I don't think I have ever read a rock n roll romance like this before.

There is a small love triangle as Chaya is engaged at the start of this book, but she also is not in a romantic relationship with Ben at this point either. This is very much a forbidden relationship with two besties who love each other but also a rock n roll romance.

Ben met Chaya when he was 16 when he saved her life when she was kidnapped at age 11. They love each other and are best friends and both want more but religion and family expectations have made it a forbidden romance.

Chaya comes from a very religious Jewish family. They keep kosher and the Sabbath, and she wants that for her future. Ben is an atheist and so he is someone her family will never accept; in addition, he is this wild rock star.

In this story Chaya has a lot of decisions to make. She is at a crossroads and has to decide where she wants her heart and head to lead her. Ben loves her and needs her, and I loved that no matter what Chaya is there for him no matter what.

This was a very passionate story and filled with angst and longing. There is also a lot of love between Chaya and Ben and his band and his Nan. I loved it so much and could not put it down.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the third book in this series but I never read the first part, Hold the Forevers (Lila and Cole), I did read the second book, At First Hate, (Marley and Derek) and this third book stars Maddox and Josie. Maddox is Marley's twin brother and Josie is Marley's best friend.

This is an angst filled more than one chance at romance with characters that grew up together and had several chances at dating but who kept getting it wrong. At the start of this book they are more like enemies than lovers and they are forced together while they film a movie.

This was a drama filled story and it is told in five parts as we get the whole story of Maddox and Josie's relationship. I really loved the author's story telling style of creating different parts as we get to know the characters. It was an extremely passionate story and I felt all the highs and lows that the characters go through in this story.

I loved it so much and I could not put it down. It has passion, love, mistakes, the messiness of love, and lots of drama.

Crying Shame by Rebel Shaw (Addyson and Graham)

ABOUT THE BOOK

Addyson

Life just threw me a curveball. I have to find a new place to live, but it must be in-district, because my son has his heart set on riding the bus to his first day of kindergarten.

When my brother’s sexy best friend suggests we move in with him, I have to remind myself the offer was for his spare bedrooms… not his bed.

Graham was my childhood crush and being in proximity with him is bringing back all kinds of feelings I thought were long gone. Looks like this time, he’s experiencing them too.

The problem is, now I have a son to think of. We’ve been through enough, and I can’t risk his heart… or mine.

Graham

My gorgeous new roommate is off limits. Not only is she my best friend’s little sister, she’s a single mom looking for help… not a hookup.

From the moment she’s under my roof, sparks fly, and suddenly the girl I’ve known my whole life becomes the woman I want long term.

I know I should stay away. Addyson deserves better than sneaking around, but she’s afraid to give me more. Plus the little boy she’s trying to protect… he’s already stolen my heart.

To let her get away… let them get away, would be a crying shame.

This is a romance between brother's best friend, Graham and his besties younger sister, Addyson who is a single mom to her young five-year-old, Noah.

There is an age gap and a very sexy story about the ultimate bachelor finding his heart. It was an awesome story and I loved absolutely everything about it.

In this story Addyson ends up without a home and her brothers best friend offers her and her son a place to stay. Graham is newly single, his casual girlfriend has just broken up with him because she wanted more, and he is not interested. But as soon as he realizes Addy needs help, he is totally there.

This is a story about finding your one. Addyson and Noah just feel right to Graham, and I loved that part of the story and watching Graham lose his heart to these two.

The brother best friend forbidden relationship really wasn't a huge deal in this story, but it was more about the bachelor finding that it's not always about being single but rather finding your special person.

There is some ex-drama, and I really loved that aspect of the story. It kept my interest throughout the story, and I fell hard for Graham and Addyson and of course, Noah.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The Change Up by Evan Grace

I've been in love with Sawyer Bennett since I was fourteen years old. Too bad I've always been in the friend-zone. Right before he leaves for spring training for the Chicago Hawks, I take a chance and make a move.

After the best night of my life, I sneak out in the night because I'm afraid I'll be rejected. Things fall apart and then he leaves.
Fast forward two years later and a chance encounter brings us face to face again, but this time I have a secret, the kind that will change our lives forever.

MeMe Eklund has always been my biggest cheerleader, and the best friend I've ever had. That is until we cross that line and things fall apart.

Playing shortstop for the Chicago Hawks has been a dream come true. Between the game I love and the women, I try to get my mind off the one person who mattered most. Imagine my surprise walking out of physical therapy and finding my best friend with a baby in her arms, one that looks a lot like me.

As we navigate these new waters our feelings grow, but when someone tries to throw us a curveball are we strong enough to knock it out of the park or will we strike out.

This book was previously released in the Leave Me Breathless anthology, re-edited, and more goodness included.

A Midwesterner and a readaholic most of her life until one day an idea came into Evan’s head and a writing career was born. She's a sucker for happily ever afters and loves creating fictional worlds that others can get lost in. She loves putting her characters through the ringer, but loves when they get to that satisfying, swoony ending.

When the voices in her head give it a rest, which isn’t often, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Aurora Rose Reynolds, (the queen) Kristen Ashley, Kaylee Ryan, Natasha Madison, and Harper Sloan. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, movies, TV shows and life.

She's a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and (the real) Evan, a weightlifter, a home healthcare scheduler, and a full-time author. How does she do it? She'll never tell.

HOSTED BY:

This is a story that previously published but the author has added parts to it and updated it. It was a first time read for me. It is a stand alone book and I liked it but I had some issues with the male lead, Sawyer.

It is a best friend to lover's romance with lots and lots of angst. They share a one-night stand, and she runs away from dealing with the one night and then discovers she is pregnant. The book then picks up after she gives birth and is raising her child. She runs into Sawyer, and he realizes he has a kid and thats when I started to enjoy the book.

I felt in this story both leads were so immature. SO! She runs away and he runs away, then she runs away, and he runs away too. They both love each other but I felt they were not really ready for each other at times as they had a hard time facing up to what they felt and their actions.

I will say that there were times my heart hurt for MeMe. Sawyer wants more with her but he also likes to drown his fears and sorrow with casual sex and at times MeMe sees or hears that and it really hurts her. This was a lot of the angst in this story.

I also felt that how MeMe deals with her child and her baby daddy was very immature. And I felt that Sawyer and his mom just accepted that and never seemed angry about the time they missed with the baby.

But after they meet up again and start to get to know each other and let down some of their walls was the best part of the story. They had a unique relationship and I really enjoyed getting to know each other as they have grown up a bit throughout this story.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
