          ABOUT THE BOOK

USA Today Bestselling author Adriana Locke delivers a “fresh and fun!” romance between a grumpy single dad and his beautiful, spunky employee—the one he can’t have.

Chemistry is not love.

That’s what my boss, the grumpy single dad with brilliant green eyes, says anyway.

I have my V-card. He’s ten years older than me. I work for him.

Nate Hughes has a million reasons why a relationship between us would never work. Honestly? It’s all a farce.

He can’t deny our connection. His soft smiles, brief touches, and protective behaviors come too easily. And when I need a place to stay? He can’t stop himself from offering me a room—though I’d prefer his bed. After all, there are sparks—delicious, sizzling sparks—when we’re together.

Our forced proximity brings things to a head. Our shared experiences and traumas draw us closer. Our undeniable attraction has us toeing the line between friends and lovers—whether Nate likes it or not.

He’s right—chemistry is not love. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t fall in love with him … even if he can’t love me back.

EXCERPT

“Do you want me to pay rent or help with groceries? We really didn’t go over any of that,” she says, licking her lips.

My gaze settles on her finger approaching the pudding container again. “You’re a college student with a part-time job. You don’t have any money.”

“That’s true.” She smiles smugly before lifting her eyes to mine. “I’m sure we could come up with something.”

She trails her finger around the walls of the plastic before bringing it to her lips again. With her hand poised in front of her face, she smiles at me.

Nope. Not letting that happen.

I clamp her wrist with my hand and suspend it in midair. Her eyes go wide, her breath halting in her throat as she waits for my reaction.

Her skin is warm in my palm. Her wrist is so small, so delicate, that I ease my grip so I don’t accidentally hurt her.

I’m not sure why I touched her, but it’s either because I’m sleep-deprived and it’s late or I want to teach her a lesson. Or maybe I just want to see her reaction.

I stare at her as deeply as I can. She holds her breath as she considers—hopes? fears?—what I’m going to do.

I twist her wrist and bring her hand to my face. A smirk settles on my lips as her entire body stills.

Then with the most deliberate move I’ve ever made, I bring her finger to my mouth.

My heart thunders in my chest as my self-restraint shatters into a million pieces.

I suck her finger between my lips. She gasps, her body shaking in response. I run my tongue around the pudding before biting lightly against her skin as I remove her digit from my mouth.

Every muscle in my body tightens. My blood heats to a dangerous degree. My hand trembles as I hold her hand in mine and try desperately not to tug her whole body into me.

Her chest heaves. She forces a swallow as she leans back against the counter. Her breath is loud and quick, breaking the silence of the room.

Shit,” she says, a mixture of a plea and a promise.

I just look at her and smile. “Is that what you wanted?”

She swallows again.

I release her wrist from my palm. Then I lean in until we’re only inches apart—until I’m so close that I can smell the sweetness of her breath—and grin.

“That’s the only time my mouth will get anywhere near you.” I turn toward the doorway, ignoring the protest of every cell in my body. “I’ll see you in the morning.”

This book bridges two of the author's series and brings the readers back home to the Landry's which for me started my love for this authors books. This book is also a prequel or intro to the Carmichael family which is the authors next series.

The Landry series which is a series I was totally hooked on. When that series ended a character from that series ended up with a Gibson Boy and so began the Gibson Boys series, the elder sister in the Gibson Boys ends up together with one of the Mason brothers and so began the Mason Family series. In the Mason series we meet Nate and also Paige as they are connected to Hollis who is a part of the Mason family as he is dating Larissa Mason and he also works with Coy Mason.

Hollis is very important to this story and his book really starts in "The Relationship Pact" where he meets Larissa Mason. It is a stand alone story but really is part of the Mason series. I guess you could think of it as a prequel to that series and also I think its a book you should read before you read this book so you understand who Hollis is and his connection to Paige.

In this book we get some fun scenes with some of my favorite Landry's like Lincoln, Dominic and Ford. Nate also works for Landry Security and he is Dominic's brother. Dom is married to Camilla Landry and thats how Nate is connected to the Landry family and why this book is part of the Landry series rather than the Mason's.

This is an age gap romance. I am not sure the exact ages but Paige in her early 20's and in college and Nate is in his 30's. He also is a single dad to Ryder who is 7 years old. Nate also works at a bar he owns and Paige is his employee and friend. When she is evicted he wants to help her, and so they also become roomies.

While this is an age gap romance, Paige is totally mature. In fact at times I thought she was more mature than Nate. I loved her so much. She wants Nate and I loved how honest she was about it. Nate on the other hand sends her so many mixed signals that I felt he needed to grow up a bit in this story. When he finally owns up to everything, I wanted Paige to torture him a bit more.

This was a really fun story and I absolutely adored it and loved all the Landy's featured in this story. I would have loved to have seen more mason's than just Hollis and Larissa but I still loved this story

Loving Rose - Tortured Teager #2- by Vikki Jay (Zander and Rose Part 2)

ABOUT THE BOOK

Zander.

My fiancรฉ, CEO of our company, is offering me everything on a silver plate – family, love, security.
Things I’ve missed all my life.

My heart almost catapults out of my body whenever I realize how perfectly Zander has filled the empty hole in my heart.

He turned his life upside down for me.

He calls me by my name. A word he dreaded all his life.

He moved to Cherrywood for me, because this is the only place where I feel like home.

Now he’s patiently waiting for me to say three words: I am ready.
But I’m not.

Marrying Zander and starting the family he wants would mean placing my trust in fate, believing that I’m truly safe… that my children would be truly safe.

He’s promising me the future of my dreams, but how can I let go of the past?

Loving Rose is the second and final book in Rose and Zander’s story.

“Then teach me.”
“Are you sure?” His gaze doesn’t leave my face, and I know he’s checking for any of my nervous tics.
“I might be shy about these things, Zander, but I want to experience, or at least try, everything with you.”
A playful smile plays on his lips at my words. “Everything. That’s a big word, couch girl.”
“Not as big as you,” I murmur, rubbing myself against his hardening p****
“Oh, Rose. You shouldn’t have done that, babe.” He leans forward and grabs my lavender pillow from the bed. Throwing it on the floor next to my feet, he says, “Get on your knees. Class starts now.”
My hands move from where they were resting on his chest. Zander grabs them at the last moment and helps me get down.
“What should I do?” In this position, I’m eye level with the towel knot around his waist.
“Close your eyes.”
I look at him in confusion. How can I do this with my eyes closed? I’m not even sure I can do it right with my eyes wide open. But when Zander simply stares down at me, waiting for me to follow his instruction, I comply.
“Do you really want to do this, couch girl?”
I smile despite the nerves. My heart swoons at his tenderness, and some of the nerves settle down.
He knows my heart.
I open my eyes and nod, determined to give him the best blow job in the whole world.
“Then remove the towel. I’m all yours.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In those early morning hours when I’m alone, my imaginations run wild and I pen down the life of people living in my head. All my life, I have lived in small towns in different parts of the world. The friendships, the camaraderie that people share around me inspired me to create Cherrywood and St. Peppers, the two towns where all my stories take place.

I write about beautiful coincidences, finding love in unexpected places and times, and fighting hard to get that happily ever after.

I reject to read, see, write anything that does not promise a HEA.
My characters are sexy yet shy, strong yet reserved…

I am married to a man whom I fell in love at an age of 15, proposed him at an age of 23 and married at an age of 30. He has no clue what I write or do when he is snoring quietly in the next room.

This is the second part of Rose and Zander's story. In the first book they got engaged and this story picks up 6 months later. While Rose is happy and engaged, everything else is still the same.

For the most part Zander wants to marry Rose and live with her and just love her, but he has to get her to move along with that scenario. In addition, she meets his family namely the man who meant everything to him and his brothers, Beast.

In this book we also get all the ends of Beautiful Rose all tied together. Rose learns who she is, where she came from and her story. I am not spoiling any of that.

It was a beautifully crafted story, and she has a very complicated past and I loved this story so much. I cannot wait to read more about Zander's brothers and Clem's story.

The Deeper I Fall by Erika Kelly

The Deeper I Fall by Erika Kelly is live!

ABOUT THE BOOK

He's a rough and rugged hockey player.  She's a posh British princess. To win an enormous inheritance, they're forced to live together.

This is not going to go well.

When his former hockey coach passes away, Declan Cadell is shocked to learn the man left him a cattle ranch. Well, not exactly. He's got a little hurdle to jump over first. He has to win a trivia contest against the man's estranged daughter. Oh, and there's a caveat: he's only in the running if he lives and works with the spoiled princess who blew off one of the greatest men he's ever known.

As if it wasn't hurtful enough that Seraphina Crutchley's biological father replaced her with a bunch of sweaty hockey boys, now he's forcing her to vie for her inheritance with one of them. Worse, the guy clearly can't stand her because if–no, when she wins the contest–she'll sell the land and return home to London. Why on earth would she keep a cattle ranch in Wyoming?

But Seraphina comes to learn the contest is about so much more than a ranch. It's about learning who her father was and why he stopped asking to see her. It's about falling in love...and finding the courage to fight for it.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have never read this series before, so it was all new to be and all the characters were new as well.  I felt the story stood alone very well.

This story stars an English girl named Phinny who's just upset her mom and stepdad when she refused to marry her current boyfriend. They are wealthy but when she turns him down, they refuse to support her and then she finds out her father has died.

She heads down for the funeral but the last time she said anything to her father she was 6. So, she is stunned when she is named in the will and ends up having to stick around for a month to learn about her father and pass a test on his life to inherit his ranch. She is joined on the ranch with her fellow quiz contestant Declan who knew her dad well as he was one of his hockey boys.

At first, I hated Declan. I felt her treated Phinny terribly. Seriously he was horrendous to her and should have been ashamed but as I kept reading, he eventually comes around and that's when I started to enjoy this story.

This book is primarily an adventure for Phinny to discover who her father was, and what changed her past and what she had waiting for her on her father's ranch in Montana. I LOVED her so much and I really enjoyed her journey. I loved how hard she works to find out why her father dropped out of her life and who he was, and I adored that she really becomes a big part of the community in Wyoming and gets to know the people in the town as a way to getting to know her father.

This was a really awesome story and I absolutely adored it. The writing was wonderful, and I loved all the supporting characters and the town of Calamity Falls. It's a story about love, family, friendship and finding your roots and your past.

This is book 4 in an interconnected world where each book features a different couple. In this book we get to know Jax, a character introduced in the previous book, Second Chance Vow, and in this book, we get his story. It is an awesome second chance at romance and football romance all at once.

Jax is a football player who met Sophie when he was young. She was his divorced housekeeper's daughter. They were secret best friends, and he knew she had a major crush on him. The story is told in parts between THEN and NOW and we see that he and Sophie had a very complicated, angst ridden past.

In this book he is told he has to get married but not forever. However, he says he will only marry Sophie, but he has not been able to find her. Enter his publicist and agent and they find her. But she has a surprise, a child he knew nothing about, and she hates him. And so he uses her child against her, and she marries him. But he has a huge battle to make it real and he also has some big secrets.

This book was hot, romantic and very angsty. Sophie was one tough cookie and I loved that about her. Jax was a jerk to her at different points, but she loved him and when he makes her hate him, I loved that he had to work hard to win forgiveness and she didn't just forgive him. Sophie grew up in this story and it was awesome watching Jac grow up as well.

EXCERPT

g. It annoyed me. How confident he was. How little he spoke, and how much he conveyed with the few words he used.
“W

One of the good things about Devon Whitehall (and unfortunately, there were many) was that he never took himself seriously. After I had shamefully banished him from my bed, he had stopped calling me. The next time we’d met, however, at a Christmas party, he had hugged me warmly, asked how I was doing, and even showed interest in investing in my club.

He’d behaved as if nothing happened. And to him I guess nothing had. I didn’t know why Devon had never married, but I suspected he suffered from the same relationship-phobia I was prone to. Over the years, I’d watched him parade one woman after another. They were all leggy, stylish, and held degrees in subjects I could hardly pronounce.

They also had the shelf life of an avocado.

Devon never tried to get with me again but remained wryly fond of me, the way you were fond of the childhood blanket you used to snuggle with but would not be caught dead in the same room with it anymore. These days, he made me feel chronically undesirable.

“What’s got your knickers in such a twist?” he asked, running his fingers through his thick hair. Streaks of cool wheat and gold.

I wiped my eyes quickly. “Go away, Whitehall.”

“Darling girl, your chances of evacuating an Englishman from a bar on a Friday afternoon are slim to none. Any requests I can actually fulfill?” The casual benevolence rolling off of him made me nauseous. No one was supposed to be that perfect.

“Die in hell?” I pressed my forehead to the cool bar.

I didn’t mean it. Devon had only ever given me good conversation, compliments, and orgasms. But I was really upset.

He slipped onto the stool beside me, flicking his wrist to check his Rolex. I knew he wouldn’t answer me. Sometimes, he treated me like an eight-year-old.

Our drinks arrived. He pushed the Tom Collins my way, handing my glass of chardonnay back to the bartender quietly.

“Here, now. This’ll make you feel better. And then significantly worse. But since I won’t be there to deal with the consequences…” He gave a careless shrug.

I took a sip and shook my head.

“I’m not good company right now. You’d have a better time striking up conversation with the bartender or one of the tourists.”

“Darling, you’re barely civilized, and still better company than anyone in this zip code.” He gave my hand a quick but warm squeeze.

“Why are you nice to me?” I demanded.

“Why not?” Again, he sounded completely at ease.

“I’ve been nothing but horrible to you in the past.”

I thought about the night I threw him out of my apartment, panicked that he’d somehow find a crack in my heart, pry it open, and sneak into it. The fact that he was here, pragmatic and unbothered, just proved that he had heartbreak written all over him.

“That’s not how I remember our brief but joyous history.” He sipped his Stinger.

“I kicked you out.”

“My arse had suffered worse.” He offered a dismissive flick of his wrist. He had nice hands. He had nice everything. “No need to take it personally.”

“What do you take personally?”

“Not many things in life, to be honest.” He frowned, giving it genuine thought. “Corporate taxes, perhaps? It’s essentially double-taxation, an outrageous concept, you must admit.”

I blinked slowly at him, wondering if I was beginning to see a hint of imperfection in the man everyone looked up to. Under the layers of manners and chiseled looks was, I suspected, a truly odd man.

“You care about taxes, but not that I humiliated you?” I challenged.

“Emmabelle, love.” He gave me a smile that would make ice melt. “Humiliation is a feeling. One must submit to it in order to experience it. You’ve never humiliated me. Was I disappointed that our affair had run its course faster than I had wanted it to? Sure. But it was your right to end things at any given moment. Now tell me what happened,” Devon coaxed.

His accent seemed to have a direct line to that place between my legs. He sounded like Benedict Cumberbatch reading an erotic audiobook.

“No.”

He studied me coolly, waiting. It annoyed me. How confident he was. How little he spoke, and how much he conveyed with the few words he used.

“What do you want? We’re complete strangers.” My tone was matter-of-fact.

“I reject that framing.” He slid a leaf of mint decorating his glass along his tongue. It disappeared in his mouth. “I know every inch and curve of your body.”
