Romantically Perfect - Perfectly Imperfect Love Series Book 3 - By S.E. Rose

ABOUT THE BOOK

Mr. Perfect isn’t always found in the pages of a romance novel. Sometimes, he’s standing right in front of you.

Diana Moore is a fan of love, but love isn’t a fan of hers. After a string of failed relationships, she’s decided to focus her time on finding new passions.

According to Garrett Henley, love is for suckers, and Diana’s heart-on-the-sleeve attitude has put her firmly in the friend zone.

When Garrett volunteers to help her find a new hobby, will the relationship denier and the romance fanatic find true love may be looking them right in the eye?

EXCERPT

I lean my head back against a pool pillow and let the powerful jets do their job.

“So, who’s the latest victim?” Lanie asks.

I’d roll my eyes, but they are already closed. “I think I’m going to take a break from dating.”

“What?!” Lanie says way too loudly and the whole party quiets down.

“What’s wrong?” Kent yells from the pool.

“There’s something very wrong with Di. She just said she’s taking a dating break. I think we need a family intervention right now.”

Before I can even open my eyes, the oversized hot tub is filled with splashing and I groan and sink lower into the water, only my leg touches another leg and I jump back, opening my eyes to find the entire party has moved here.

“What?” I ask them, looking around at all the faces of my siblings and their significant others.

“You can’t be serious,” Kent states. “You are our crew love guru. Should we sign you up for like a dating app or something?”

“Yeah, here, hand me your phone and I’ll find you a good one,” C-Dog volunteers.

“First off, I don’t have my phone on me because we are in the water. Second, I’m allowed to not date. It’s not like I always have a boyfriend.”

Everyone stares at me deadpan. “OK, but I don’t rush out for the next one once a relationship ends.”

The blinking eyes staring back at me make me groan again.

“Di. We depend on you to be…well, you,” Kylie explains.

“Yeah, like our constant Juliet,” C-Dog points out while making an air heart with his fingers.

“We could all set you up on dates!” Kylie says excitedly.

“No way,” I retort. I’ve had several blind dates and they have all been epic disasters.

“Spoilsport,” she mutters.

“We could send in an application for a reality TV series,” Brix says with a wink.

I sigh. “Can’t I just not date?”

Lanie clears her throat. “Just promise us you aren’t giving up on love, and we’ll back off.”

“Fine,” I say way too loudly and throw my hands up in the air, “I’m not giving up on love. Happy?”

They all look at each other and back at me, nodding and murmuring “OK.”

“I love you all, but you drive me crazy,” I mutter as I pull myself out of the hot tub.

“Hey, don’t leave,” Kent pleads as I pick up my sundress.

“I’m not going to stay here and get the tenth degree over the fact that I don’t currently have a boyfriend,” I huff.

“Di-pie, don’t be pissed. We wuv you!” Clark says in his best little-boy voice because he knows I’m a sucker for him even though he’s one giant-ass baby now.

“I’m not pissed, I’m just annoyed.” I pull the sundress over my head. I sigh. “I promise only to be annoyed tonight.”

“Fair enough,” Kent says. “You good to drive home?”

I nod. Normally, I’d stay later, but tonight, I’m just not feeling it.

This is book 3 in the series and I have adored every single book in this series. This is a series about siblings finding love in a small town with a small sports theme going on. This is Di Moore's story and she is a twin and a school teacher and loves romance so much.

Garrett works as a teacher with Di and they both have crushes on each other but Garrett does not believe in love and Di lives for romance. And so they are just friends and have never even kissed. That is until Di dumps her last boyfriend and gives up on love and decides to explore some hobbies and Garrett offers to help her find one she loves.

And so starts this awesome story about friends finding love despite what they believe about love, life and themselves. It is very much a sweet romance with themes of families, being there for your community and small town living. I absolutely adore it and loved both Di and Garrett so much. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, maybe about the last single sister.

ABOUT THE BOOK

This fourth book in "The Scoring Series" features Steele Bailey.

Steele:

I'm a second-year hockey player for the Seattle Sockeyes. Imagine my shock when I return from a trip to find my former roommate has transferred his lease to my nemesis. She's so annoying I can't stand to be in the same room with her. She pushes all my buttons and is my exact opposite. Despite it all, I want to rip off her clothes and make mad passionate love to her. What is wrong with me?

Hyacinth:

I'm the free-spirited daughter of a radical activist. I've marched in my share of protests, and saving the world is my life's mission, but lately I'm wondering where my life is headed. When I'm offered the chance to share the lease on a fancy condo only two blocks from my bartending job, I jump on it. Like with most things, this one is too good to be true. My roommate is a finicky, annoying AF hot hockey player I've butted heads with in the past who thinks my causes are ridiculous. He pushes all my buttons, and I never expected to fall for him, but I did.

This is a part of series and its the first book I have read from it. It easily stands alone.

It stars two characters that are super attracted but kinda hate each other and are very much opposites and are new roommates.

Steele is the controlled, neat freak and good guy who plays professional hockey on the Seattle Sockeyes team. Cin is his total opposite. She is the bartender with piercings and tattoos and who is a slob. They end up as roomies when their friends end up living together.

At first I did not love this story mostly because I did not like Cin at all. I felt she was a much more rough character than I like. She is very casual about sex and not so picky about her partners. I felt she should treat herself better. But as I got to know her, I fell in love with her too. She is a badass with a mother from a nightmare.

As time went by and I watched her with friends and Steele I started tio really like her. Steele was a jerk at times but I really liked him and I loved how he treated Cin. These two made a really fun, hot and sexy story.

Excerpt

The whirl of tires and the hum of an engine filled the air before she could answer. A shiny black Jaguar came down the driveway and my heart dropped.

No. That son of a bitch Brody Carmichael was going to ruin my vacation.

“He’s supposed to be gone.” If he dared encroach on my time with Clara, I’d sneak poison ivy into his bed.

“It’s not his fault.” Clara sighed, quick to defend her boss.

“Did his private plane not have enough spiced cashews for his liking? Surely he can afford jet fuel.”

The second-best part of this week, besides Clara and Gus, was Brody’s scheduled absence. Clara knew there was no love lost between me and her boss, so she’d suggested travel dates that coincided with his vacation.

Yet here he was, parking a car that likely cost more than all of my worldly possessions combined.

Brody parked behind the Cadillac and stepped out of his car, sliding the sunglasses off his face. He wore a navy suit tailored to perfection around his broad shoulders and long legs. In the years I’d known him, I’d never seen him in anything but a suit. Did he not own jeans?

“Brody!” August raced over, holding up a hand for a high five. “Aunt Aria is here. We’re gonna open my presents.”

“I see that.” Brody’s lips turned up in a smile. Barely.

If the man ever learned how to deliver one properly, actually show some teeth, he’d be devastating. Especially with the dark, trimmed beard he’d grown a few years ago. It gave him a sexy edge. Or it would have, if his perpetually sour mood wasn’t such a major turnoff.

He definitely, definitely didn’t turn me on. Oh no.

Broderick Carmichael was enemy number one.

Campus Player by Jennifer Sucevic

ABOUT THE BOOK

Trust me when I say that Rowan Michaels fever is

alive and well at Western University. His fanbase is

legendary.

The guy is a major player.  Both on and off the field.

Girls fall all over themselves to be with him. They fill the

stands at football practice, show up at parties he’s rumored to

be at, and basically stalk him around campus.

It’s a little nauseating.

Don’t these girls have any self-respect when it comes to a hot

guy?

Fine...I’ll admit it, he’s good looking. If you’re into that kind of

thing. Which I’m not. I’ve got school and soccer to keep me

busy which is exactly why I avoid him like an unfortunate clap

diagnosis.

Too bad for me that Rowan is my father’s star quarterback. He’s practically part of

the family, attending Wednesday night dinners with us. To make matters worse,

we’re in the same major and get stuck together in classes every semester. It’s like

the universe is trying to play a cosmic joke on me. The one guy I’d like to steer clear

of is the very same one I can’t seem to get away from.

But what if Rowan isn’t the manwhore I pegged him to be?

What if one little secret has the capability to change everything between us?

*This is a mature New Adult novel with strong language and sexual situations

intended for readers over the age of 18*

I have never read this author before but I really enjoyed it. Its a college age romance between two characters, Rowan and Demi who are Seniors in college and who have known each other since they were 14 years old.

Demi is a really good soccer player and she has this girl that hates her guts and has just messed around with her current boyfriend when Rowan defends her and so starts their romance. Rowan is close with Demi's dad who is his football coach and while he has known Demi many years she has never really been friendly with him until he defends her and so she starts to see him differently.

This was a wonderful story and I enjoyed both characters a lot. The reason that Rowan ends up trying to let Demi breakup with him seemed really silly to me. Essentially a talk with her father and  he goes to her to apologize. While I hated this part of the story I am happy that it was only a tiny amount of the story and the author does not drag it out. I adored the end of the story where we get to see what happened after the story ends.

If you enjoy college and sports romances then this was a really fun story with lots of heat and a great set of characters.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Once upon a time she’d been an intern.
Once upon a time he’d been a rookie.

Then he’d broken her heart. Well, not just broken it. He’d torn it to shreds. Shattered it. Freaking nuked it.

But now Charlotte was older. Leaner. Meaner. Okay, so the last wasn’t really true, but she’d certainly spent the eight years since her fling with one Logan Walker—star defenseman and that former rookie—building fortified walls around her heart at the same rate she built her career.

She was great at building. Great at winning. So much so that she’d become the new GM for the Gold—a GM who was quite possibly going insane because she’d decided to bring Logan to the team. Her heart aside, the team needed his skills to win, needed him to plug a hole in the roster.

What she didn’t need?

Logan deciding that the hole he wanted to plug was the one he’d created in her heart all those years before.

About the Author:

USA Today bestselling author, Elise Faber, loves chocolate, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and hockey (the order depending on the day and how well her team—the Sharks!—are playing). She and her husband also play as much hockey as they can squeeze into their schedules, so much so that their typical date night is spent on the ice. Elise changes her hair color more often than some people change their socks, loves sparkly things, and is the mom to two exuberant boys.

This is the 9th book in the series and it easily stands alone. I have read a few books in the series but not all of them and I was not lost at all. It stars Char who is the GM of the hockey team and a player , Logan. Years before when they were just starting out she was the intern and he was the rookie for a different team. He dumped her in a very painful way and now that she has achieved her dreams he wants to resurrect their romance.

I had one issue with this story and that was I like to picture characters in my head and so descriptions are really important when reading a story. At one point Char calls  herself a woman of color but later she also is described as a red head and with a Scottish relative in her family tree. I was picturing her one way and then had to change the way I saw her. This is a pet peeve of mine and it didn't detract from the romance of the story.

This story is really about Logan and Char reconnecting. He says he loves her very early on and that he did what he did to give Char her dream. This story is him getting to know her again and showing her how he deserves a chance. It was very sweet and a romantic story with no real obstacles except for their hearts.

Take Me Away BY Kelly Elliott

Take Me Away by Kelly Elliott is now live!

To love her is to forget she ever existed in my world.

When I'm not a test pilot flying for the U.S. Air Force, I can be found risking my life in other ways.

Skydiving. No problem.

Bungee jumping off a bridge. Like a pro.

Paragliding in Switzerland. Time of my life.

Zorbing in New Zealand. Fun as hell.

You see...all these life-risking adventures are not just a hobby for me, not just a way to pass the time. I need the adrenaline rush like I need my next breath. I'm addicted to it. It's the only thing that allows me to bury my painful past--even if only for as long as it takes for me to come down from the high. All that matters is that I'm able to forget. And every heart-stopping moment of it was working...at least, until she appeared back in my life.

Both my worst nightmare and my wildest dream all wrapped up in one beautiful woman...a woman I was still very much in love with.

And that's not the worst part...

Linnzi Cunningham has no idea who I am. She has no idea how intertwined our terrible pasts are--and for that, she is lucky.

She doesn't remember the night when everything important in her life, everything that she lived for, was taken from her by the man who promised he would always protect her.

That man was me.

To love her is to forget she ever existed in my world.

This is a stand alone book but is book #6 in the series. Its a very romantic story but also has a lot of sadness involved in it. Its a wonderful story and the author did an amazing job with the storyline.

In this book we meet Nolan and Linnzi and they were high school sweethearts that an accident separated them for over 8 years. This was the heart breaking part of the story you see Linnzi has amnesia and she doesn't remember her past. She has lived 8 years in Paris and still does not remember anything but she is ready and she heads back home to Texax to face her past.

Nolan has been in the air force for those 8 years. He has avoided home because its not the same without Linnzi until he gets the call that he needs to head home for his godchilds birthday and well thats when this story really takes off.

This was one of the most romantic and well written romances I have read in awhile. I loved the characters and this story will make you laugh but also make you cry. Nolan is an awesome character and guy and he is blessed with wonderful friendships. Linnzi has been blessed with a wonderful family and a deep love. She just has to remember it. I loved that she wanted to face her future.

Vicious Vet by Ashley Munoz

Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are excited to bring you the Cocky Hero Club: original works from various authors inspired by Keeland and Ward's New York Times bestselling Cocky Bastard series.

BLURB

I never imagined that I’d be adding Manager of Operations for Park Street Animal Shelter to my resume. Not until my firm closed up, my boss moved away, and I was asked, nearly begged to step in and help. I’d do about anything for my old boss and friend, and since I wasn’t offered a spot with the firm when they moved, I needed something to keep me surviving here in Temecula, California.

Once I found a decent allergy medication and adjusted to the smell that accompanied the shelter, I was oddly excited to start my new venture.

That is until I met our on-call Veterinarian.

Greyson Knox.

Local animal doctor, famously rich, unfathomably gorgeous and my worst nightmare.

I can put up a good fight, always have, but against Greyson; I’ve always been flustered, irritated…weak.

Especially after what happened.

Four years I've managed to avoid him. I’ve stayed on my side of town with my head down and now he’s here…and I can’t escape him.

Some men are cordial, kind, professional…but Greyson Knox is nothing but a vicious vet looking to score.

My first order of business was to strip him of his job, get him out of my clinic. But like everything between us, it turned into a war.

Except for this time, losing would strip me of something I never expected to have. Something I’ve been too afraid to want and when Greyson plays dirty by revealing a secret he’s been harboring; my battle lines grow weak, leaving me vulnerable for attack.

COCKY HERO CLUB

This is a new author for me but I loved this book so much. It stars Kelly who our hero also calls her Kat. The hero is Grayson and he is our vicious Vet. This is a second chance romance and Grayson did some awful things to K 4 years before.

Now he is volunteering as a Vet at the animal shelter K runs and trying to get her to give him a second chance. I LOVE that Kelly makes him work hard for it. I wish she had been more forceful about getting answers about the past right away and I wish Grayson had been more honest about the past and present and the evil Tess and his father. But aside from that I loved this story so much.

This is a fun and light read book and I loved the energy that Grayson and K share and the angyst you can really feel for this couple. I loved the side characters like K's sister Selah and Grayson's best friend  and the employees at the shelter.

ABOUT THE BOOK

How hard can it be?

That was the question rolling around Larissa Mason’s mind just before she asked Hollis Hudson to be her fake boyfriend. It was only supposed to be for five minutes, after all. Granted, that was also before she felt his hand on the small of her back as he charmed the heck out of her family.

She hadn’t heard his laugh yet either. And it was definitely before she saw the football god shirtless. Otherwise, she would’ve had an idea of just how hard some things could be. It turns out that pretending to be in love with a crazily handsome, somewhat enigmatic, and absolutely unforgettable tight end (that has an amazing tight end) is easy. Reminding herself that just because opposites attract doesn’t mean they’re forever is much harder.

What they have isn’t love—it’s a relationship pact. Right?

  About the Author:

USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author Adriana Locke lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana has created her own. She resides in the Midwest with her husband, sons, and two dogs. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather's nice and there's always a piece of candy in her pocket.

  Connect w/Adriana:

This is a 3 book series about three football friends who are in their senior year of college and how they spend their Christmas break, This story is billed as a sports romance and honestly there is no games in this story, and very little sports even happens in this book. Its just that Hollis played sports and it saved him.

Hollis is the star of this book and it easily stands alone. I have not read the other books in the series because I love the author Adriana Locke and the other books in the series were written by other authors.

The story takes place in Savanna and it includes characters from two of the authors previous series. The reason Hollis is in town is related to Lincoln Landry . He meets Larissa and her best friend Bellamy on his first night in town when he rescues her as a fake boyfriend at a bar.

Larissa is cousins to the Mason brothers, Coy and Boone and her and Bellamy grew up with them so they are featured throughout the story. The next book in that series features Coy and Bellamy so it was great to get a bit of a history on them in this story.

This story is told in dual POV and Hollis sorta broke my heart. He is a really awesome guy but life has been very tough for him. My heart really broke for him. He has a past that makes letting people in extremely hard and at times I felt so bad for him because he is so lonely but he doesn't know how to really let people in.

Larissa was an awesome character. She is mostly a happy person and she really sees how good a guy Hollis despite him being a football player. She lightened this book and I loved her character and how she is always there for Hollis.

This was an awesome story and I really enjoyed it but its not a light story. It is definitely a wonderful holiday story and I loved its message about friendship and family.

This is book 4 in the series but easily stands alone and its extremely different than any of the other books in the series, it almost seemed like it was a stand alone in that the tattoo parlor and characters there are seen only seldom in this story.

In this book we meet Dawson and his daughter Emmie, who is 17. They live in London and she is now his responsibility as her mom handed her to Dawson, He enrolls her in a top London school. What he is not expecting is that the assistant principal is his ex, Piper from when he was 18 who he thought died with her parents in a fire. The fire that his family set.

This is a mafia story. Its also a hate to love or revenge plot or second chance romance plotline. Dawson is not in the mafia but he is the son of a powerful gang/mafia group in London. When Piper died he had a one night stand that resulted in Emmie and so he got out so she could grow up safe, and that meant his brother and father ran things and they will be very unhappy when they find out that Piper is not dead.

Piper did some things and it resulted in her family being killed and she has been hiding but she wants to go home and that's how she ends up working at the same school that Dawson enrolls his daughter. These two hate each other but also they cannot stay away from each other and they don't really care what that means.

This book was extremely well written. But its also not a fun story or even romantic. Its gritty and hard and some of the characters do things that were hard for me to read. I like light and fun romances so this is not my type of story but it was also entrancing and I could not put it down. If you love mafia and dark romances well you will adore this story. It has violence in it as well. The author went hardcore and so I want you to be prepared for that. Its extremely well done but I feel it does need that warning.

My two favorite characters in this story was Dawson's  mom. She saved the day and was so awesome. And Emmie, I loved her so much. I hope the author writes a story for her.
