I am a HUGE fan of this series and I have read all the stories in this series. Largely they stand alone. Though you will understand things better if you read the previous books. This book stars Apple, Lemon and Cherry McCoy so you will want to read their books at the very least and maybe even Caleb's and Brody's too if you are new to the series.

While the Lawson boys are mentioned, they don't really appear, as this is about their cousin Preston who has always had a crush on Apple. This is his story on how he gets Apple to have anything to do with him and date and fall in love with him.

Apple, who everyone thinks is slutty, isn't, its all an act. As is her tough girl act. She is really a big marshmellow inside and Preston has always known that. But she also has been hurt and has done some bad things and while I knew she did, I have always had a soft spot for her.

I did read Caleb's book and I always thought what he and Iris did to Lemon was really crappy. So I pretty much sided with her on one of the biggest issues in this book and her history with the Lawson's. I LOVE that Apple takes a lot of convincing to give Caleb a shot.

In fact its a friends to lovers story and Preston is fanatastic. He wants Apple and their is absolutely nothing he won't do to get her. These two when they are together, they are so cute, romantic and sweet that I fell hard for them as a couple.
