ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Before becoming a romance writer, Danielle was a body double for Heidi Klum and a backup singer for Adele. Now, she spends her days trying to play keep away from Theo James, who won't stop calling her or asking her out. And all of this happens before she wakes up and faces reality where in fact she is a 50-something mom with grown kids. She's been married longer than Theo's been alive, and she now gets her kicks riding a Harley. As far as her body, she can thank Ben & Jerry's for that, as well as gravity and vodka. But she says that she could never be Adele's backup since she never stops saying the F-word long enough to actually sing. Danielle writes about kickass women with even better shoes and the men that try to tame them (silly, silly men).

Dirty Player by Mira Lyn Kelly

About the Book

He’ll play dirty to get his girl

“Fun, addictive, and outrageously sexy! Dirty Player brought all the feels and left me panting for more!”—Annika Martin, New York Times Bestselling Author

It started as a joke…
A throw away promise between friends.
A dare for a single kiss at our reunion and nothing more.

But that kiss…
That kiss was no joking matter.
It was hot and wet.
A hands-everywhere, breathless kind of insanity that left us both teetering on the brink.

She’s got rules about dating guys like me…
Rules I respect the hell out of when they apply to any other pro athlete.
But as they apply to me? Well, those rules are about to be broken.

JULIA

I don’t want to talk about that look. In fact, up until ten seconds ago, I’d been doing a bang-up job of ensuring we haven’t had the opportunity to discuss it all evening. It’s a big ballroom, and if Greg happened to be at the north end, I managed to stay south. The few times I couldn’t stop our paths from crossing, I made sure to pull someone, anyone, along with me, thus ensuring the conversation stayed far, far away from the look that got away from me.
Until now, it had been working. Unfortunately, my conversation buffer just saw her fiancรฉ come in, and the little traitor sprinted off, leaving me staring up at Greg. Nothing to distract me from this gorgeous man in his tuxedo and the trouble I’m having keeping my eyes to myself.
I’m surrounded by good-looking men on a regular basis, and it never gets to me. But with Greg, I can barely breathe. I can hardly look at him without heat spilling into my cheeks, and as to tearing my eyes away? Forget it.
Which is crazy. I’m not fifteen. This isn’t my first crush.
It’s not a crush at all.
It’s Greg, one of my oldest friends and the guy I just promised I wouldn’t objectify tonight. We’re friends. Just friends.
With no more hookups between us.
No more kissing.
No more flirting.
I shake my head, mentally amending the no-more-flirting clause, because this is Greg. Flirting is like breathing for him—an involuntary response, and one I sort of cherish.
But no more staring!
“Thought we discussed you avoiding me,” he says.
Don’t look at him. Don’t look at him. Don’t—
God, he’s so handsome it hurts.
A waiter passes by, and I swipe a glass of white wine from his tray. “I’m not.
He lets out a low laugh that slides right through to the deepest parts of me.
“Glad to hear it.” He steps closer, ducking his head so his next words are directed at me and me alone. We’re standing in the middle of hundreds of people, but when his eyes are on me like that, a glint of amusement edging a more serious intent, it feels like we’re alone. “Should we discuss that look?”
My cheeks burn hotter, and I toss back half my glass in one swallow. “It was just one look.”
I’m such a liar.
He laughs again, letting up on the eye contact as he surveys the crowd. “There’s that just word again. I’m starting to think maybe you don’t think it means what it really means. And P.S. … it wasn’t just one.”
Geeze. This guy. “Greg, we’re past it. Everything is fine.”
So long as I don’t look at any part of him for more than a fraction of a second, we’re totally good.
“You’re sure?”
No. But I’m subscribing to the fake-it-’til-you-make-it school of thought here. “Absolutely.”
He rolls his shoulder in my peripheral vision. “Well, that’s a relief.
“Good.” It’s definitely good. Right? I hazard another look at his face. “But out of curiosity, can I ask why?”
The corner of his mouth curves, and I feel the tug of it all the way through me.
“Because if you weren’t past it—if, for example, another one of those rogue looks got away from you while we were in the midst of this crowd—I could see where that might be a problem.”
I force myself to focus on the orchestra set up across the room. Only Greg isn’t done.
“But even if by some miracle they don’t catch the look in your eyes, and I do… then we’d have to worry about them seeing the look in mine. The one that says it’s only going to be a matter of seconds before I’ve got one hand in your hair and the other finding out what’s under that incredible dress.”
I try to swallow, but my throat makes a dry clicking sound, so I drain my glass.
Taking the empty from my hand, Greg returns it to a passing waiter.
He’s amused, the sexy jerk. He knew exactly what kind of effect that casual reference to getting under my dress would have.
“Good thing there’s zero chance of another one of those looks getting away from me. Ever.”
Okay, ever is probably a stretch, but he doesn’t have to snort about it. Cocky bastard.
I should let it go. Let him have his little laugh.
Taking the drink from his hand, I tap my index finger against the condensation-covered glass before bringing it to my lips. Club soda and lime.
It’s not strong enough to justify what blurts past my lips, but I can’t stop myself. “So you don’t need to give what kind of tiny and delicate I’ve got going on under this dress another thought.”
His body stiffens, and his eyes cut to my chest. He’s built like a superhero, but despite his apparent laser focus, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t actually have X-ray vision.
All I wanted was the satisfaction of seeing him squirm. Maybe to gloat a little.
But neither one of us is the type to relinquish a win so easily.
“Jules, you’re going to have to be careful. Tiny and delicate sounds like it might not survive these rough hands of mine.”
My breath catches as need spears through me, and my center goes hot and liquid.
I open my mouth, wanting to say something sharp that puts him in his place. But I can’t make a sound. I can’t think about anything but the snap of elastic and my panties falling apart in his big… rough… hands.
Greg seems to be waiting for the comeback that isn’t coming too.
The seconds stretch and pull.
Our eyes meet and, suddenly, that smug satisfaction washes clean off his face as his nostrils flare and his eyes turn to midnight. I’m pretty sure this is the look he warned me about.
“Aww, fuck. Now you’ve done it, Jules.
I take a shaky breath. “I know.”

This book was soooooo good. I truly loved every second of it. It is a s great 2nd chance at love and best friends to love romance story.

It is #2 in a series but easily stands alone. Its stars are Greg, a NHL player and Jules, a very successful sports reporter, she reports on football though. However she has a very high profile image and so she has a very strong rule of never dating or being seen with any kind of sposrts stars socially. Hence why her and Greg are very taboo for her.

However they have been friends since high school, texting buddies and well Greg sees her at their reunion and wants more than that and that is when the heavy flirting and fun starts.
The book was great BUT Greg and Jules are in the closet for most of it. And when she gets brave that is when the fireworks really go off.

I don't want to spoil too much except to say I LOVE this series and this book and story was even better than the first. I love when Greg starts thinking like a Football player. What a great line in the story!!

Marek: A Cold Fury Hockey Novel Book #11 By Sawyer Bennett

About the Book

Marek Fabritis is used to delivering blows, not receiving them. But when he gets tipped off by an anonymous email about his ex-girlfriend, the news leaves him ice cold—and it’s not because Gracen Moore is getting married to a total jerk.

It’s the fact that Marek has a three-year-old daughter he never knew about. Now he’s going back home, not to play knight in shining armor but to make damn sure that no man takes what’s his. For the first time, there might be something more important than hockey. Gracen Moore has always loved Marek. That’s why she let him go, so he could pursue a career in the NHL. And that’s why she never told him about Lilly.

Only now does Gracen realize that she made an unforgivable mistake. But is that any reason for Marek to crash her wedding and make an epic scene? If the spark that still smolders between them is to be trusted, maybe. Still, Gracen’s not getting her hopes up. Because she knows better than anyone that appearances aren’t always what they seem. . . .

She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both. Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I am a HUGE Sawyer Bennett fan and I have read this whole series. This book can stand alone but it really starts in Reed so I really recommend you read that one first. Marek is Reed's best friend and he is in this story alot, as is his girlfriend, Josie. In Reed, Marek learned he was a dad when he busted into his exes, Gracen's  wedding to another guy.

When he saw her daughter he knew she was his and demanded she follow him to Raleigh where he plays hockey. And that is where this story starts. In Raleigh as both Marek and Gracen are living together with their daughter and Marek is one pissed off man.

I really loved this story. Gracen had good reasons for what she did and eventually Marek comes around. You understand his pain but you also understand Gracen's. This was a fun, light and enjoyable story and I loved every second of Gracen and Marek's journey to forgiveness and love.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it, though I have no plans to read the first book in the series. The first thing I noticed in this story are that the names are a little out there. It made it a little strange to read, that everyone featured in the story had a name I had never heard before, but aside from that I loved the story.

It is a little brady bunch in that the two main characters, each have a son and a daughter and they form a friendship with each other thru their kids and then romance follows. I freaking LOVED the heroine, Olivia. She was super smart in high school until she sleeps with this one guy and she ends up pregnant. She literally gives up everything for her son and becomes a dedicated mom.

Meanwhile Aidric Jones  sleeps with anything that moves, is how he is described, mostly women but men are not off the table either. He is the uncle of the 1st books hero, Dempsey and he has a HUGE family and his sister is mayor and butts into his life constantly. Until one day he finds out a woman he slept with died and had a child. One who is now 11. The same age as Olivia's child.

Meanwhile Olivia is running her dads construction company and Aidric hires her and they have been aquaintances until Olivia OLivia befriends him and offers her son to befriend his daughter. This story is 3 sided and I loved that. We don't just hear from Aidric and Olivia but also from Kendra, Aidric Jones newly discovered daughter.

This was a sweet and heart warming story that reminded me a little of the brady bunch. I hated the annoying older sister but otherwise I really loved Aidric Jones  and Olivia and both their kids.

What had originally started as a six-month road trip across Cali, hopping from one shithole bar to the next, had stretched into a year and a half thanks to our manager, Chris Evers.
He’d approached us after watching us in San Diego, one of our last shows before heading back to San Francisco with our tales between our legs. We were officially out of money, and because of that, out of time. My heart was broken at the thought of going back. But then Chris appeared, promising that he could get us success if we signed with him.
At first it had all seemed too good to be true. I had to admit, there was something about the dude that didn’t sit right with me. He was slimier than a used car salesman, and twice as slippery. But he’d lived up to his promise. For the past year, the five of us had been living in a crappy little studio apartment in LA, recording our first album, and playing at bigger bars where people who mattered could see us. We’d busted our asses, put in our time, and it was finally paying off. Now we were on a fucking tour with one of the fastest-growing bands in the US. As far as I was concerned, Chris Evers could be Satan himself—as long as he kept living up to his own hype, I was on board.
Looking across the shitty apartment, I spotted Tatum sitting on the worn-to-hell couch Mace and I had found in the alley behind our building. I broke from the guys and headed toward my girl, scooping her into my arms and spinning her in a circle.
“You hear that, baby? It’s finally fuckin’ happening. We’re going on tour!”
She smiled and placed a kiss on my lips, but there was an uncertainty in her eyes that made an uncomfortable knot form in my stomach. Something was off. Tatum hadn’t been herself for a long time now, and I didn’t understand why. I got the impression that Chris made her uncomfortable and that she didn’t trust him, but she’d never spoken a word against him, and the guy hadn’t done anything to warrant us dropping him. I kept telling myself that it was just the instability of our life over the past eighteen months that had been weighing on her. Now that the doors were finally starting to open for us, she could breathe a little easier.
“That’s fantastic, Deck. I’m so happy for you guys.”
I set her back on her feet but kept her close. “What’s wrong, Tate? You don’t look that excited.”
“No, I am!” she declared loudly. Her expression finally began to warm, and genuine happiness shined in her eyes. “This is it, honey. I’m freaking thrilled.”
Resting my forehead against hers, I spoke in a hushed voice. “Nothin’ but good from here on out, baby.”
“I’m so proud of you,” she replied, her tone just as quiet as mine.
“I’m gonna give you the world, Tatum Valentine. Just wait and see.”
Her smile wobbled as tears pooled in her eyes. “I don’t need the world. All I need is you.”
She might not need it, but like hell I wasn’t going to give it to her. She deserved nothing but the best. My girl deserved to eat at the best restaurants, wear the most expensive clothes, live in the biggest house I could build her. She deserved to drip with diamonds. And I was going to make all of that happen.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

This is Dec and Tate's story from age 7 age 32ish. That is when they meet and become besties and it details how Tate meets the guys and dreams up the bands name Civil Corruption. At age 15 the two fall in love and are together until age 22 when Dec destroys them in a huge way. We get to see Tate's pain and it was understandable why she dumps him and does not talk or see him in 10 years until the music awards show with her new friend Camden, also a rock star. The story really starts at Will's funeral where Dec finally decides to fight Tate for her heart by begging her to be their new band manager.

I LOVED Camden. He is so there for Tate throughout the book and after what Dec did to Tate I loved how he enjoyed making Dec jealous. The only thing I hated was how promiscuous Dec was before he decides to fight for Tate's heart. It was heard to like him after we watch him having sex with others.

However, once he makes his move to get Tate back, I loved how into her he was and how there he is for her. He has always loved her and he knows he majorly screwed up but he also knows Tate is his happiness and heart.

This story was well written and I really LOVED Tate and enjoyed Dec's characters. It is a very romantic story and very HOT. I really fell hard for Dec and Tate's story and I loved seeing how the band began and seeing young Tate and Dec and how they began.

START FROM THE BEGINNING WITH TRADED:

 BRODY & KARA

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Like most of her characters, Tess Thompson hails from a small town and will always feel like a small town girl, despite the fact she’s lived in Seattle for over twenty-five years. She loves music and dancing, books and bubble baths, cooking and wine, movies and snuggling.

She cries at sappy commercials and thinks kissing in the rain should be done whenever possible. Although she tries to act like a lady, there may or may not have been a few times in the last several years when she’s gotten slightly carried away watching the Seattle Seahawks play, but that could also just be a nasty rumor.
She currently lives in a suburb of Seattle, Washington with her brand new husband, the hero of her own love story, and their Brady Bunch clan of two sons, two daughters and five cats, all of whom keep her too busy, often confused, but always amazed. Yes, that’s four kids and five cats. Pray for her.

This story was so wonderful. It stars two young lovers, Jackson and Maggie who have always loved the other. But Maggie had the devil of a father and he made everyone believe she had died 12 years before. Meanwhile Maggie has been living it up in NYC until she gets a your dad is dying phone call.

And that is how Maggie comes back from the dead. I loved how everyone reacts and especially Jackson. No spoilers here. But the two are also very different people 12 years later and I enjoyed watching them reconnect and have a more grown up relationship.

There are some big surprises along the way and I truly loved them, This is a great story and I cannot wait for more.
