 iBooks ➣ https://apple.co/2LFR6Yl

ABOUT THE BOOK

Going for gold cost world-class hockey athlete Hailey Dobson everything. She may have walked away with the medal, but everything else in her life is a disaster.

She has no job, no place to live, limited savings and six long months until the check comes with the money for law school. The only bright spot is her long-distance relationship with a professional hockey star. Kane “Hattrick” Hatcher got his nickname because scoring three goals in a single game was his thing.

But when he gets traded to a new team in Alaska, he has three new obstacles to overcome: His game is off, the coach is riding his ass and the girl he’s crazy about lives on the other side of the continent. When an unexpected opportunity brings them back together for the summer, they find that the consequences of their actions may leave them playing co-captains for life.

Neither Kane nor Hailey are prepared for this game changer. With everything on the line, can two over-achievers overcome adversity off the ice?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast. Kat’s a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max).

When she’s not writing, she’s either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach. Kat has been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years.

She sold her first article–a review of a rock concert–for $10 in 1985. Since then she’s been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles. As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey.

She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…

This was a wonderful story, it is book 2 in a new series about an Alaska Hockey team and we get to see other characters from the earlier Hockey series by the author. Please note I have read book 1 and some of the other series, though not all.

This book does stand alone but Hailey and Kane do meet in the first book and Hailey is also introduced there. This story starts as book 1 ends and it starts when Hailey and Kane first meet in person at the medal ceremony at the Olympics.

Let me just say this book is HOT! Kane and Hailey shall we say are very attracted and they also are friends with benefits but they also live in very different places. Her Boston and him Alaska. So it starts off as a long distance relationship and then something happens (spoiler free review). It binds K and H together and well that is what this book is about. Can a long distance relationship really go the distance? Well I loved watching K and H work it out.

This is a fun story, it is sweet and sexy and full of fun times and great characters. I totally loved every minute of this fun story and loved revisiting the characters in the first book.

This is a great 2nd chance romance and it starts off so cutely. Jordan and Mandy were high school sweethearts but College was tough on them and Mandy cut him loose in a text message. Now 6 years later he is a rich NFL player who is profiled on TV where he says he still thinks about the one who got away.

Mandy has never forgotten him either and so when he says that on TV, she messages him online and he responds. They end up as text buddies and he then invites her to a game. And that is how they start seeing each other.

Jordan is a very busy star but he is very lonely and when he gets a chance with Mandy he has to grab it. This was a very fun and hot story and I really enjoyed it. That said I found that things moved a little too fast for me. They barely have two dates and he invites her away with him. He also is very busy and for them that was a big deal in college and so I was not sure that would not be an issue as time went by.

This story is well written and I liked all the characters and absolutely loved the story. I just wish that the characters had more depth and their issues were more developed. But this is a really wonderful sports romance and 2nd chance at love story.

EXCERPT

Suddenly, being alone with Nick in the dojo has me nervous. I’m shifting my weight from foot to foot and not completely sure what to do with my hands. “Hey,” he finally says, offering me a small smile.
“Hi.”
“You ready?”
“As I’ll ever be,” I grumble, not really sure if I can do this.
Or if I should.
No, I definitely should. After what happened last week, a woman should know a few basic self-defense moves.
Nick heads over to the bench and unties his belt, dropping it on the bench beside my bag. Then, he strips off his white jacket.
My jaw hits the floor.
Unlike our time on the boat Monday, where he wasn’t wearing a shirt, this time he’s wearing a white tank top underneath, and if it’s possible, I think it makes him hotter. It hugs his very hard, very muscular upper body in a way that I’ve only read about in books. (Or saw one time when Linkin stripped for my sister, Lexi.) His shoulders…my word, his shoulders. The definition and muscles are like a work of art. Nick turns back to face me. “Is this okay? It’s hot.”
Yep. Definitely hot.
“Umm, sure. Whatever. Fine.” I know I try to sound casual, but really, it just comes out like a bumbling, blubbering teenager.
“Good. Now come here,” he instructs, and the tone goes straight to the apex of my legs (which are practically shaking, by the way). Why does it sound dirty?
“I’m going to show you just a few moves to help you escape an assailant. The first is an open hand strike. You’re going to use the heel of your hand to strike some of your assailant’s most sensitive areas,” he teaches, demonstrating the move. “Aim for the eyes, nose, mouth, or neck.” He stands in front of me and holds my hand, positioning it and showing me the correct ways to execute. “Here,” he adds, moving my hand to his face.
I can feel his breath on the palm of my hand as I slowly shadow his movements, practicing without actually striking him.
“Good. Now, if he comes at you from behind, your elbow is a valuable weapon. It’s hard, and when thrust into his face, neck, or stomach, you could definitely buy some precious time to get away.” He moves behind me and I immediately thrust upward with my elbow. He easily dodges the blow, as mortification tinges my cheeks.
“Oh my God, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to try to hit you, it just…was a reflex,” I insist.
“You’re fine,” he chuckles. “It’s good for you to actually practice the moves. Well, except this next one. No need to practice the knee to the groin. Just know it’s one of the most effective ways to disarm an assailant. If done right, your perp will be lying on the ground, crying for his mommy while you run away,” Nick teases, holding his hand over his…area.
Of course, my eyes drop down.
Why wouldn’t they?
He was just referring to someone’s…package.
“Yeah, no need to practice that,” I quickly reply, again a blush burning my neck and cheeks.
Is it hot in here?
“Let’s go over a few ways to block a punch or slap,” he says, showing me a few techniques using my arms and hands, before finally demonstrating what to do if the assailant gets me down on the ground.
Yep, I’ve officially lost my mind. I’m practically rolling around on the mat with Nick, who is trying to teach me moves that might one day save my life. And all I can think about is the way his arms feel when they wrap around me or the way his package brushes up against my thigh, not once, but five times.
Five.
Yes, I counted.
“Okay, that’s the basics. I want to do a few of them in a real-life situation. Stand over there, and I’ll come at you. I want you to take me down.”
“Wait, what? I can’t take you down. You’re…big.”
And, cue the blush…
Nick chuckles. “I’ll be okay, honey. Promise.” Then he winks at me, and my entire body seems to catch fire. “Ready?”
No. I’m definitely not ready for this.

This story was absolutely wonderful. It is the final book in the series though there is a novella coming out as well. This story puts together Megan and Nick and it stands alone though to really fall in love with this family you should read the entire series as we glimpses of Megan in all the stories.

If you have read this series you know that Meg was in love with Josh when he was tragically killed and now 2 years over she has not moved on at all. She still lives day in and day out with Josh's ghost. Nick is her boss and best friend.

This is a best friend and boss romance. But it is also a story about making room in your heart for more than one love and that its okay to love and move on past a love. Nick is so wonderful with Megan and no matter what he is always there for her. He never forces her to move on but helps her get ready to let Josh go.

This story is fun, sweet, and sexy and is a wonderful finish in this series. We see all the sisters and their significant others and the children. And they provide lots of fun and hijinks. This is one of my absolutely favorite series I have ever read and the way this story ends was really wonderful.

This is book 2 in a series about the King family in the beach town of Castle Beach. This is Quinn's story and she is a hairstylist and only girl in the family. She was very close to her brother, Laird but he disappeared and then was believed to have died and so the family must move on.

No one has known it but for 3 years Quinn has dated Tate, the best friend to her brother, Barron and on the night Laird disappeared she married Tate secretly. However Tate is a bigtime movie and producer and so he had to go away to finish a movie and Quinn has not forgiven him for nt being there for her.

This story is about Tate coming home and being all in for his love and marriage to Quinn. He wants to give her everything but she has to let him in.

This was a wonderful story and I loved all the characters in this book. I definitely will be going back and reading book 1 and more books in the series. I really enjoyed getting to know the Kings.

Payback's a Bitch- Awkward Love #6- by Missy Johnson

About the Book

I’m the girl who likes ‘the cock in the back hole’

At least, that’s what the dating profile my so-called friends set up for me claims. I’m also into BDSM, Furries and ‘I’ll try anything twice.’

I have no idea the profile exists until the replies start rolling in. They range from funny, to downright creepy and everything in between. Just as I’m shutting down my email account for good, a new message pops up.

He’s funny and he's the only one to suspect the profile is a joke, so I think what the hell? I reply.

When he suggests that we meet, I say yes. When I walk into that bar, he's sitting at a table, facing the other way. He turns his head just enough for me to be able to make out his face…

Fuck.

It’s Cameron Hunter, one of the rudest, most arrogant assholes I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting.

He's also the son of one of the state's most influential judges.

The same judge who's about to become my step-father...

This is a funny and HOT story about payback being a bitch and it starts as Darcy's friends play a practical joke on her with the dating profile from hell.

Cameron is her step brother to be and he finds out about her profile and messages her and that's how the two start getting to know the other. Cam is pretty decent and while they text each other and flirt. He eventually comes clean and I loved how he dealt with the fireworks. Meanwhile both get revenge on each other in all the best ways.

This was a very fun step sibling romance  with lots of fun revenge antics thrown into the mix. It is well written and a fun light reading romance.

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.

This story opens up as London is recovering from a leg injury after a fire that took her parents life and left her badly injured. She is a Broadway dancer who can no longer dance but is also very wealthy with a drug addicted, bad seed brother and she meets Finn, at her parents will reading.

Finn is a great uncle and he runs into London back at his vacation home as she is his new neighbor for the summer while he is there with his niece. The two form a friendships and love but London is a star in the making and they have to learn to make things work as real life takes over and the vacation ends.

This book was wonderful. I love this author and this story is the first book in a new series that I am absolutely in LOVE with. I cannot wait to read more about Finn's family and see who they end up with.

This story has a little drama as Kyle, the bad seed brother tries to cause mischief and I loved how Finn is 100% there for London thru all her ups and downs. I also loved how London is with Finn and his niece.

Miss Demeanor by Beth Rinyu

About the Book

Spoiled. Privileged. Brat.

What others saw as entitled, I saw as standards, and mine were high, especially when it came to men. The boys I wasted time on in college were now a thing of the past. I was setting my eye on the real deal: Rich, successful, nice looking, good personality preferred—but not required.

I had it all figured out, I’d live off my family’s good fortune as I waited for my wealthy Prince Charming to sweep me off my feet. That was until my father decided to come up with his own ridiculous plan:

Move to New York City (good)
Take a job at a magazine owned by one of his friends (bad)
Cut me off financially after three months (worse)

All out of options, I headed to the East Coast to start my job. Feeling much like a princess being thrown into court with the commoners, I intended to fail, and fail miserably—that was until I was given an office with a view and my own advice column. Suddenly, working for a living wasn't so bad after all...except for him. Obnoxious, boorish, rude…take your pick. He was the exact opposite in my quest for Prince charming—except for nice looking and good personality not required. He hated me the moment he laid eyes on me and was determined to make my life a living hell whenever I was in his company. Little did he know, he had no idea who he was up against, I planned on matching his animosity toward me in ways he never imagined. But the funny thing was, the more he got under my skin, the closer he was getting to my heart, making me reassess the girl I once was and focus on the girl I wanted to become.

Excerpt

“So, Alex, have you thought of any ideas on how to incorporate the female staff into being a part of Him?”
All eyes were on him as he picked his head up from whatever he was paying attention to on his phone. I impatiently waited for his answer, knowing how much he didn’t want for this to happen. “Actually, I have.” He was upbeat with his reply, not at all what I was expecting.
“Okay, let’s hear it.”
“I was thinking about having them do something that’s the exact opposite of what they would normally do and then write an article on the experience.”
“Such as…” Mr. Andrews waited for him to elaborate.
“Like Laurie hates sports, so maybe have her go with Keith when he’s covering a game and write about the experience.”
“I like that idea. What are your suggestions for some of the other women?”
He cleared his throat. “I, umm haven’t really thought about it. I wanted to bounce the idea off you first and see what you thought about it.”
“I love it.” Mr. Andrews adjusted his glasses and looked my way. “What would you suggest having Rose do for her article?”
My face heated when I sensed all eyes on me. I dropped my head and stared at the table, just imagining what horrible adventure he was conjuring up. Skydiving. Fire juggling. Swimming with sharks. The possibilities were endless.

About the Author

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed Creative Writing. There was always something about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen - or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. I love creating deep characters who you will love or love to hate.

My life is not as interesting as my books or the characters in them, but then again whose life is? My happy place is a seat by the ocean with my feet in the sand or on the busy streets of New York City. You will more than likely find one of these places as the setting for most of my books,

Thanks for taking the time to learn about my books and me! If you decide to read them (and I hope you do!) please be sure to go on and review it for me - yes, even if you don't like them!

Author Links

This is my first book by the author but WOW she killed me with this absolutely wonderful story. It is one of those stories where the characters really grow up and change in the story with lots of surprises along the way.

At the start of this story we have the debutante and that is Rose, she is told she needs to move to NY and work for her dads friend at his magazine or her father will cut her off and that iis how she ends up living with her aunt and working with the hero in this story, Alex who is the nephew and former military officer at the company Rose works at.

It is hate at first sight and I pretty much loved how Alex and Rose bicker with each other. Rose is challenged to work at a homeless shelter and that is where Rose and Alex start to get to know the other. But Alex is very closed off and he keeps some important things from Rose and well when she finds out, it is very dramatic.

Rose is a sweetheart. This is her story of falling in love, and learning to care about people and getting to know them outside her protected world. Every single character in this story was wonderful and I truly loved every second of discovering this story.

Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen

ABOUT THE BOOK

LiamThe moment Sadie Matthews walks through the daycare center door, I feel my world tilt in her direction. Again. I fell for her when I was fourteen, and I’m still not over her. Problem: she still thinks of me as a teen she used to babysit. But I’ve learned a few things about pleasing a woman in the last fifteen years. I can’t wait to show her how good it could be. I need to move quickly before I lose her again. This is more than a game to me, but I still plan to win.

Sadie
I’ve just survived the worst year of my life. As a single mom of twin toddlers, I don’t have time for a man. I barely have time to finish a thought. Who knew that Liam McAllister would grow up to be so devastating? He’s everything my husband was not: tall, built, and willing to have a tea party with my girls.

I can’t possibly get involved with him. He’s too young for me. Too handsome. But he’s so persuasive...

Nook: http://geni.us/BTnook

EXCERPT

I messed up. Big time.
These are my thoughts as I rush into the bathroom for the world’s fastest shower. The hot spray of water judges me as I hastily wash Liam off my thighs.
A better mother wouldn’t let this happen. I shouldn’t have a younger lover. If I didn’t, he wouldn’t be so deliciously appealing. I couldn’t lose my mind, wake him up out of a sound sleep to ride him like a pony. And then collapse beside him in peaceful, sated slumber.
Seriously, how did I let that happen?
You know how, my hormones scold me. Because he’s the hottest thing you’ve ever tasted.
Oh yeah. That.
After showering I get dressed at top speed. Poor Liam is currently shouldering all my parental responsibilities. Throwing on yesterday’s sundress, I pause for a moment to pop a birth control pill, because that’s one thing I won’t goof up.
Then I hurry downstairs.
The sight in the kitchen gives me heart palpitations. But not because there’s flour dusting much of the countertop. Rather, it’s the hot, shirtless guy holding my toddler and making a dump truck sound as Amy tips the measuring spoon over a bowl.
“Yes! Well done, little miss,” he says, relieving her of the spoon. “Batter up!” he says, easing her to the floor and catching Kate, who’s trying to climb him like a tree.
Aren’t we all.
Liam easily rests Kate on one of his perfect arms, measures a half teaspoon of baking powder one-handed and then hands the spoon to Kate. “Beep beep beep,” he says, making the sound of a truck backing up. “Look out below!”
Kate dumps the spoonful into the bowl and giggles.
“Awesome. Who wants to add the milk?”
“My do it!” Amy yells.
Boy, I need another minute of alone time to compose myself. Because I love this picture a little too much. I love Liam’s ease with my girls. I love how calm he is at the center of toddler-induced mayhem.
It causes a little pain in my heart as I allow myself one more comparison to my former life. The truth is I never once saw Decker elbows-deep in kitchen chaos with a kid on one arm. Starting breakfast with twins in tow? He was more likely to captain a NASA expedition to Mars than he was to do this simple Saturday morning thing.
I feel like crying for no reason at all. Clearly I’m on some kind of emotional overload. Maybe coffee will help.
Sliding into the kitchen, I go right for the coffee grounds.
“Mama!” Amy says. “Wiam making pancakes.”
“That is amazing,” I say in a wobbly voice. “What a lucky girl you are.”
“Sorry about the mess,” he says, casting a glance in my direction. And I know he doesn’t just mean the flour on the counter, but the bigger mess of waking up naked in my bed.
“You know,” I say with a small sigh. “Messes shouldn’t scare me so much. It’s going to be fine.”
Liam’s smile is so filled with relief, that I now feel like an ogre. This man wants to make pancakes with us on Saturday morning, and I said no to that before? I’m clearly insane.
“Which frying pan should I use?” he asks, casting an eye on the cookware hanging from the rack over the sink.
“Oh, no. You want this.” I pull a double-burner griddle out of a lower cabinet.
“Oooh,” he says. “Mommy has the fancy pancake griddle.”
Kate giggles. She’s gazing at Liam as if he invented fun.
And in my life, I guess he did.
Here’s the tricky thing about being a shrink—sometimes you notice that you’re doing something that’s exactly contrary to the advice you’d give your patients.
I’m having one of those moments right now.
If I had a single mom in my office telling me there was a lovely guy in her life who was kind to her kids—and yet she was giving him the stiff arm? I’d tell her: “Be kind to yourself. Don’t push away the good people in your life, especially if you think you don’t deserve them. Let people surprise you.”
I’m such a hypocrite.
Also, I need caffeine.
Ten minutes later I’m sipping from a mug of coffee, but Liam’s is cooling on the countertop. The man has his hands full right now as he puts pancakes on the griddle with “help” from my daughters.
“How about a few of these?” he asks, holding up a bag of chocolate chips. Meanwhile, Kate waves the spatula around like a ninja. “A guy needs to make smiley faces in his pancakes sometimes.”
Good. Lord. It’s a miracle I’m not just a puddle of my former self right now. This is some serious mommy porn I’m watching. Shirtless guy feeds toddlers before eight a.m. I walk over to the high cabinet where I keep the ramekins. “We could make smiley faces with dried organic currants,” I say, just to be a pain in the ass.
Liam makes a face of disgust as I take the chocolate chips from his hand and pour some into a ramekin. “Joking! Here.”
He gives me a big, hot smile. Okay, it probably wasn’t meant to be hot, but I feel flutters down below.
“Choc-it!” Kate yells, grabbing for the ramekin.
“Easy,” Liam says with a laugh. “That’s for my artwork. Come here and I’ll show you.”
I set the table and pour the sippy cups of milk. And Liam manages to serve up two smiley pancakes—one for each girl—at exactly the same moment, in exactly the same size. This is a man who knows his way around toddlers.
“Not cut it!” Amy yells when I approach her plate with a knife. She picks up the pancake in two hands and takes a bite right out of the side of its face.
“Okay, right.” I back away. Forks are optional today, then. No big deal.
Liam takes advantage of this moment of quiet to quickly pour six more pancakes onto the griddle. He leans over his work, dotting them with chocolate chips.
I step closer to him and put a hand on his lower back. “Thank you,” I whisper.
“For trashing your kitchen?”
“No.” He glances at me and I give him a shy smile. “For being so amazing all the time.”
His eyes get very warm, and I just want to stay right here in that blue-eyed gaze as long as I can. “This might be a good time to confess that I didn’t make smiley faces on my own pancakes.”
“No?” I look down at the griddle. Side by side, two of them have a different design—little bullseyes in their centers. “Those are…?”
“Boobs,” he whispers. “My inner fourteen-year-old has a dirty mind. He can’t shut it off sometimes.”
“Drink your coffee,” I whisper, handing him the mug. “Sit down. Let me finish these for you. Or go put on a shirt because my inner fourteen-year-old has her tongue hanging out all the time, too.”
He gives me a wicked, wicked smile and then runs upstairs to find his shirt.

This is book 3 in the series and while it is not my favorite I did enjoy the story. It features a younger man and older woman but it is a difference of 6 years so it is not huge but Sadie used to babysit Liam so its a little complicated.

Liam is Sadie's twins teacher at daycare and thats how this story begins. He has always been in love with her and so this story is also an insta love romance. It was sweet and fun and I really enjoyed the story and there were lots of hot sexy times between Liam and Sadie.
