There’s a hot new hire.
Too bad she’s Donavan’s ex.
Oh, and there’s one other problem—they hate each other.
The last thing he expected to see when he walked into the office was Paisley Williams.
She was the only person to graduate ahead of him at Columbia. The one woman who could give it back better than he could dish it out.
She was also the biggest regret of his life. What he did to her was unforgivable.
Now, she’s back in Chicago, working at his firm.
When old feelings interfere, stakes get raised, and secrets are revealed,
Will they have a shot at making it the second time around? Or are they more doomed than the first?

This is book 4 in the series and while I enjoyed it, some parts I did not love. I would say it was my least favorite book in the series but still a great story. Its also the final single brother, but I am thinking Harlow will prob get a story.
This is the story between Donavan and Painsley and I felt at times confused about the issues between them. I understand the author was trying to keep me guessing but when it was revealed things didn't seem that big a deal to me.
Also at times Donavan calls Painsley names and I did not like that. They had a very sexual relationship and a time or two he said some negative things about her and I did not like his tone, it felt disrespectful.
Aside from those two issues I did enjoy the story, while it was a little instalove in my opinion.
Years before while in college D and P dated for three years. He knew her parents extremely well but he never introduced her to his or even told them about her. Why? You are wondering right? Well its because he felt his brothers looked down on him and he didn't want to take the abuse.
This is a big issue in the story, D's relationship with his father and brothers and how he feels they are not there for him and don't care and listen to him. And one big point is the hiring of P. Now to be honest his brothers don't know he had a relationship with her ever, but they also don't listen to him when he gives an opinion. He does have a point.
But he still loves P and she still loves him and so they both have to decide if they should resurrect their romance. That's all I can say about this story. It was an enjoyable 2nd chance at romance with lots of secrets between them.
I have loved this series and so if you have not read them all, you definitely should because they are so much fun.
