Kat's been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article--a review of a rock concert--for $10 in 1985. Since then she's been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.
As you can guess from her Las Vegas Sidewinders series, Kat loves hockey and occasionally writes articles about her favorite team, the Florida Panthers. This was a really fun book. It stars Rowan and Blake who are exes who fell in love in high school but broke up. He ended up making lots of mistakes in the ten years they have been apart. Meanwhile she was a huge success and now works for the Phantoms team.
This story begins with a bang and I am serious, its a big disaster that ends up injuring a bunch of the Phantoms and requiring some players from the minor league team to come up to the majors and play in the playoffs. That is how Blake ends up as a temp player on the team that Rowan works on.
This is a second chance romance within the sports and playoff world. Blake made some bad decisions and needs for his chance to payoff. Rowan has a no fraternizing clause in her contract and so its also very much a forbidden relationship.
I really enjoyed this story. I love ow we get to see both families, Rowans and Blakes within this book. Its not all support and love but thats what made it a lot of fun. This was a really fast read for me and I really loved the drama in this book.
