And, of course, that’s when the curse words start flying.

The more nervous she gets, the worse her Tourette’s becomes. Which is, of course, why she stands up and gives the man a perfect target.

Thank God that the coughing giant in the corner makes the same move and saves her life.

And how does she repay him? By calling him every awful word in the dictionary.

So this story was just wow. It was so different than I expected and kinda dark. I am still reeling from reading this story. If you want a light read and to laugh well I would NOT read this story. But if you want romance, hot scenes and emotions well then this is the story. I seriously cried. Its a HUGE tearjerker and so many things I found just shocking.

This is Samuel Adams story. He is Miller and Mercy's son and we see a lot of them in this story. He is also cousin to Louis and all the other Spurlock's and he is part of the swat team. He is having a VERY bad day and I mean BAD. I cannot imagine a worse day.

He has the flu, has to go to work, sign calendars, have an interview, and runs out of medicine, he goes to buy some he gets held up and then it gets even worse. But its also the day he meets Hastings who runs and lives near his apartment on cop row. She is a new character that we might have seen in other books who has Tourette's and attended nursing school though in this book she manages the apartments and is a romance writer. She knows the wives of the cops but not super well and she doesn't know the men at all.

Samuel falls really hard for her but she has Tourette's and a romantic life has been very challenging for her so she doesn't believe he can be into her. So Samuel chases her a bit which I kinda adored. I fell in love with her as well. She is a strong and awesome woman and what she goes through in this story I cannot even imagine. I was utterly shocked at what Lani makes happen in this book and I am not spoiling. But I want to warm you that its very intense and will make you cry. I am still a little shell shocked from this story.

I loved Mercy in this story and you really see why Samuel is such an awesome guy, because how great his parents are. I loved how there Samuel's family was for her and how accepting of her she is. She fits in perfect with the swat kids and their families. The author did a wonderful job with this story and its a dark story. While I adored Hasty and Sammy together they face some challenges in this story.

This was a fun story about two besties finding love together. Its also a story thats been building for a long time. They have been good friends for years, since Greg who is Ruxes friend and teammate married Cammie's sister Julia from Dirty Player.

Cammie is a single mom and was abandoned by her high school boyfriend when she got pregnant. But he has moved to town and wants to get to know his son and so Cammie feels she needs a boyfriend to show him what he gave up years before.

And so Rux who is very close with Cammie and her son, plays at being her boyfriend, until things get real and Rux feels he not the best choice for Cammie. This is a fun story and very light reading. Its more a story about him realising that he is in love with Cammie and that he deserves her and a family and he needs to accept his past and move on from it.

This is a new series by the author and I absolutely adored all the characters and especially the main guy, Royce and his awesome brothers.

Royce meets a woman on a plane, Sawyer. She is moving to his town and starting a new job and he meets her on the airplane and they really hit it off. She really likes him back and is going to call him but....

She runs into him again and this time he is her new boss. And he is so different from airplane Royce. Thats the significance of the book title. Royce has many layers and Sawyer starts to see all the different ones that make up a very complicated man.

This is book 1 in the Riggins Brothers series and the story is made even more wonderful with the side characters of the Riggins brothers, their parents, Sawyer's bestie, and Jase and Sam from Play By Play, a prequel to this story which was absolutely awesome and a great intro into Royce and the Riggins brothers.

If you adore romances at work, 2nd chance at romance (sorta), and a big grumpy boss finding love with his perky assistant then you will adore every minute of this romance.

This is a brand new series but it features Candace, sister of Evan from the previous series and book "This Is Crazy". Evan ends up married to Zara who is one of Matthew's sisters in that series. Evan is considered and as his sister, Candace is as well. And we do see a fair amount of Evan and Zara in this story.

Ralph is a new character. He is a new single dad and his girl friend died on the day she delivered his daughter Ariella. Now the baby is 5 months old and its time he heads back to hockey and his friends and teammates are there for him. They all recommend he hires Candace to help him with PR and achieving sponsorship.

And thats all I am saying. This was an awesome story and I adored all the characters. I cannot wait for more stories in this series.

This is the finale book in the series and it ties everything up nicely and also introduces us to the next series which will also happen in Alaska. While its sad to say goodbye to a family I grew to love I cannot wait for the new family.

This is Jamison and Sedona's story and in the last book she was 8 months pregnant when she left him. In this story she has given birth to Palmer who is 18 months. And she is also super pregnant. But Jamieson is NOT the dad. I kinda figured out who the dad was before but I am not spoiling that here.

This story is about Jamieson more than Sedona, J is sorta an honorary Bailey. He was a scottish exchange student in the early books when he met Sedona in High School and later they went off to college and ended up together after college. However as a soccer player life was not all smooth for him and the stress made him lose Sedona. In this story he wants to get to know his daughter and achieve forgiveness from Sedona and his second family, the Bailey's.

It was an awesome story and he knows what he wants but he has to earn everyones forgiveness. I loved that Sedona made him really work for it. We don't see Juno and Colton in this book at all which was kinda strange. We do get a lot of the other Bailey's though and that made it extra fun. I adored Phoenix in this story and I love how there she is for Sedona. This as an awesome conclusion to the series and ties everything up super well.
