Blurb
I’m over this year, and I’m over relationships. I’ve
learned that the only person you can count on in life is yourself. Moving
forward, I’m living for me. Working toward standing on my own two feet,
that’s my goal. Funny how meeting him changed my path.
It’s been years since I’ve been back in this small town of
West Virginia for more than a day or two. Spending time here brings back
a lot of fond memories. When I stopped by an old friend’s bar, I was
expecting to grab a drink and catch up. What I didn’t expect was her.
We share an undeniable attraction, but we continue to fight
it.
Until one night in Vegas changes everything.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a stand alone, HEA romance between Rhett aka Whisky, hence the title and bartender, Saylor aka Short Stack. It is a feel good, sweet romance between two people who fall slowly in love and share friends which is what brings them together.
I beyond loved this story. There are no bad guys and no big conflict. It is purely character driven and I ate up every single word. Kaylee is one of my favorite authors. I am not sure how she does it but she writes these wonderful heart warming stories and I think she gets better with every new story.
The book starts up introducing both characters, Saylor has just buried her foster mom and she comes home to her boyfriend of 6 years telling her he is a cheater and is marrying his baby mama. Saylor is upset because she just sold her mother house and moved to the new town for him.
Rhett, is a rich, hot guy with a sick grandfather who has a Whisky company, Rhett decides to help out with and that brings him to a bar that Saylor ends up getting hired at. Saylor down on the dumps goes out for a drink and meets Molly and Jake who are also close friends with Rhett.
This story is not only about love between Rhett and Saylor but between friends and family. Saylor is an orphan and has no one until one day she walks into a bar and meets Molly. Molly and Jake change her entire life and I LOVED them.
This was a wonderful story that I am sure I will read again because it is that wonderful.
