ABOUT THE BOOK
Not all first loves are lucky enough to get a second chance...
Talented orthopedic surgeon Dr. Grant Jergenson finds himself part of a special residency program in Switzerland.
The last thing he expects while spending a year abroad is to be reunited with the woman who broke his heart four years ago.
Newly divorced, Sophia Lakkas has made a lot of mistakes in life, but her biggest regret by far was walking away from the only man she ever truly loved.
When a trip to Lugano to help with her sister’s baby brings them face to face, old flames burn bright.
As Grant and Sophia work to forget the past, they find that the future is also full of obstacles.
Can Grant keep the woman he loves without sacrificing his career or is one of them going to walk away again... making this second chance their last.
About the Author:
Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home.
She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast.
Kat’s a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max).
When she’s not writing, she’s either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach.
Kat has been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years.
She sold her first article–a review of a rock concert–for $10 in 1985. Since then she’s been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer.
She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.
As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey. She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story.
The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…

This seems to be book 3 in a series. I have read this author before but not this series, I did not feel lost at all though the previous books did sound intriguing.
This story takes place in Lugano, a city in southern Switzerland which borders Italy. The two main characters are Sophie/a and Grant. They meet as they are exiting the same plane and they knew each other 4 years before in college.
Grant is in town for the next year as a resident at the hospital and Sophie/a is visiting her sister, BIL and nephew. They have a very complicated history and so while both S and G are interested they dance around each other for a bit. Thrown into the mix is the dr working with Grant that tries to matchmake for him and his daughter.
Grant is a wonderful character. He is very moral and he has a major thing for S. S has made ALOT of mistakes in her past and I mean ALOT. Can these two make up for the past? well you will have to read to find out that answer.
This was a fun story with lots of twists and turns and a wonderful cast of characters. It easily stands alone and was a lot of fun to read.
