I read the first book in this new series, "Mistletoe Cottage" and so I was excited to read this book which is the second book in the series. It does stand alone but there are lots of side characters so to know who is who and what happened before I suggest reading the first book.
This book while is #2 in the series I would call it 1.5. It is Shay and Michael's story and it happens right after the end of book 1. In it Michael has been abandoned by his bride, is sad and he hits his favorite bar. The bar is owned by Shay, his high school girlfriend who ended up in jail for stealing his car. Now she is out and both her and her uncle hate him. So when he hits the bar well things go flying.
This about all I am spoiling. This was a fun intro to Shay and Michael. It is a very short book. I would estimate 60 pages. It goes very fast with lots of hijinks, drama and action. The ending well it makes you want more. That said the adventure ties up loose ends and by the end Shay and Michael are in a good place. I am sure there will be a second book for them and I look forward to it.
