I LOVE Kaylee Ryan, so much that going into this story I had no idea about the plot. But I have never read a bad book by her so I couldn't wait to dig in. I am happy to report that I loved every minute of it. The only thing I hated was the end.
This is the story about two very lonely people who start off as enemies but end up not being able to resist the other. It is a also a race car NASCAR romance story. It is told in dual POV and I really fell hard for every single character in this story.
Blaine " Checkmate " Bishop is our race car driver, he is 25 and he has wonderful parents and extremely close friends who are part of his team. He is afraid of love, commitment and marriage because he wants to win a championship first and not have to leave a wife and kids while he races.
Aubree Chance is a massage therapist who is very alone, she ha s never known love and her strongest connection is to her best friend Maria and her husband Isaac. She wants to fall in love but she understands that she has a very tender heart. The two really irritate the other and Blaine is fighting his attraction and that causes Bree to think he hates her.
However Blaine only does temporary so they fight their attraction very hard. When the two are forced to travel together and get to know each other well that is when the book gets fun and I loved all the fireworks between these two.
