Icebreaker by Elise Faber & Kat Mizera (Banks and Aspen)

ABOUT THE BOOK

She hates me…

I’m going to make her fall in love with me anyway.

As captain of the SoCal Vipers, the last couple of seasons haven’t been going well. My stats are slipping, and I’m at risk of being traded.

So, I’m not in the mood for a case of mistaken identity with the woman playing bouncer at the arena door.

But when I find out she’s come to town to escape her controlling family and make a fresh start, I know I can’t just let her walk away.

I’ll do anything to make sure she’s safe.

And if that means claiming her forever…then all the better.

Because she’s mine.

Even if she doesn’t know it yet.

When the Game Breakers meet more than hearts will be broken…

They’ll claim, protect, and...maybe just rock their women's worlds.

Meet Kat Mizera:

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Kat Mizera was born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of Wanderlust. She's lived from coast to coast, and everywhere in between, but home is wherever her family is. A devoted mom and wife to her wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max), Kat loves to travel the globe with her adventurous, hockey loving family. Greece is at the top of that list. She hopes to one day retire there, spending her days writing books on the beach.

Kat is former freelance sports writer who now writes steamy hockey romance about her favorite fictional teams, the Las Vegas Sidewinders and the Lauderdale Knights. The library of novels she's penned also include sexy contemporary stories about baseball stars, alpha sex club owners, bodyguards, rock stars, and royalty. Regardless of genre, her books about bad boys with hearts of gold will steal your breath, rock your world and melt your heart.

Meet Elise Faber:

USA TODAY
bestselling author, Elise Faber, loves chocolate, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and hockey (the order depending on the day and how well her team—the Sharks!—are playing). She and her husband also play as much hockey as they can squeeze into their schedules, so much so that their typical date night is spent on the ice. Elise changes her hair color more often than some people change their socks, loves sparkly things, and is the mom to two exuberant boys. She lives in Northern California.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a new series with two authors of hockey series I have enjoyed. This is a stand alone book and none of the previous authors series are connected to this story. While we start out in a hockey/sports romance, the next books get away from the sport.

This series characters are a group of guys who went to college together and were besties. They each went into careers in different paths. One of them ended up dying and the left behind friends honoring him by opening a nightclub in his honor. They are all partners in the business. All the guys are single and one has a sister who has a share in the club. The story starts on the night where they are celebrating their missing friend.

One of the guys in the club is named Atlas, and it drove me crazy because the female lead in this story is Aspen, and it was very distracting while reading to have two main characters with a name that starts with an A.

Aspen is down on her luck. She runs from one job to the next hoping to make enough money to support herself. Thats how she meets Bank. But she barely has time to eat never mind dating a guy.

But Banks is not just some guy. He cares and he was a sweetheart for a majority of the book. At close to the end he freaks out and I was not a fan. But up to that point he seemed like a catch. But if there is a message in this book, it is that we all have our own demons to fight. No one is perfect and we are all just trying to live life and try to make the best life we can with the time given to us.
