Beau - Mavericks of Montana Creek (#2) by Somer Hayes

Available via Kindle Unlimited

Beau Maverick has a great life-a close family, a thriving veterinary practice, and the privilege of being a Maverick in Great Falls, Montana. Despite all that, he fights a feeling of hollowness. After the death of his beloved mother, he throws himself into her role of charitable and philanthropic duties in the community. He was least interested in being on the chair of the local symphony, but when the feisty new director comes to town, he finds the challenge brings with it a spark of life.

Grace Sutherland is devastated at the news that the Manchester Philharmonic in her hometown in New Hampshire has voted to relocate her to assist one of their lesser known symphonies in a small town in Montana. Her unconventional methods, while effective, were at odds with their traditions. However, she accepts the challenge and is determined to regain her standing and get out of Montana as quickly as possible. Unfortunately for her, the chair of her new board might make that difficult.

**Standalone**

Somer Hayes is an avid reader and writer of stories, hailing from the Midwest.

This is book 2 in the series and I have read both books, though this book easily stands alone. We do see the characters from the first book which was nice to see if you read the first book. But we get an up close look at Beau in this story. He is a Vet and is very single and he is on the towns board for the symphony. That is how he meets Grace who is transferred into town to run their symphony.

Grace is a tough cookie. She is big city and when she meets Beau fireworks go off as he is a country boy. But the attraction is very strong and both cannot resist the other. I loved watching their relationship develop and I loved how adorable these two are together.

The big issue is that Grace is on town short term and Beau wants her around longer. Can he convince her to stick around and give them a shot? Well it sure was fun watching these two together.

Off The Ice by L.P. Dover

About the Book

He’s always made the scoring plays, both on and off the ice, but this time he has a new goal … the one for Meghan’s heart.

I’m Justin Davis, all-star center for the Charlotte Strikers. For years, I chased the spotlight, not only with hockey, but through television as well. That’s why I decided to play the bachelor on Rich and Single. Unfortunately, I was stuck with a fake fiancée from hell who I couldn’t stand to be around. Now that our contract is up, I’m allowed to do whatever I want, with whoever I want. I plan to take full advantage of my newfound freedom.

After being on the show, people don’t recognize me for hockey anymore, even with just winning the Stanley Cup for my team. That’s why I’m spending the off season in a remote cabin in Wyoming where the chances of people knowing me are slim. Space is what I need, but when a down to earth beauty needs help on her ranch, I can’t resist. Meghan Taylor is exactly what I’ve been looking for, even though I’m not the kind of man she wants.

Getting her to see the real me has its challenges, but the more time I spend with her, the easier it is for her to see that I’m not the same guy she knows from TV. Being away from the media is one thing, but as soon as I’m back in the spotlight, I’m afraid it’ll change what we have. I don’t want to lose her, but I also can’t hide away in Wyoming forever. It’s a choice I’m not ready to make.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author L. P. Dover is a southern belle living in North Carolina with her husband and two beautiful girls. Before she began her literary journey she worked in periodontics, enjoying the wonderment of dental surgeries.

She loves to write, but she also loves to play golf, go on mountain hikes and white water rafting, and has a passion for singing. Her two youngest fans expect a concert each and every night before bedtime, usually Christmas carols.

Dover has written countless novels, including her Forever Fae series, the Second Chances series, the Gloves Off series, the Armed & Dangerous series, the Royal Shifters series, the Society X series, the Circle of Justice series, and her standalone novels It Must’ve Been the Mistletoe and Love, Lies, and Deception. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense, but if she got to choose a setting in which to live, it would be with her faeries in the Land of the Fae.

This looks like the last book it the series and stars Justin, who was the hockey player in the reality love show who dated Miranda the fiancée from hell. In this story he breaks it off and it is VERY MESSY. So he runs away to Wyoming where he meets his new neighbor, Meghan.

The two form a friendship and while both lust the other Meg feels Justin is too public for her since she is a mom of an 8 year old daughter. This story reminds us that love is what is important and that sometimes despite the odds against you, you just have to take the leap and hope the other person catches you.

It was well written and I loved every single character except for Miranda. It was sweet and sexy and I fell hard for Justin who was willing to be traded for Meghan and her daughter.

LOVE SINCERELY YOURS by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn

ABOUT THE BOOK

Dear Mister...**strike out** no, too formal. Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.   To whom it may concern, Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free. I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide. I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter. I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me.

The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets. For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees. And as long as we're being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss. Love, Sincerely, Yours.

EXCERPT

I open the company messenger app on my phone and scroll through the executive names, knowing full well I’m about to break a policy. It’s the company’s phone, and the company’s app, and I’m about to use it for personal use. To flirt. With my boss. I close my eyes, find his name—next to it is a little, green dot, which means. . . He’s on the app.

I’ve never talked to him live before so this is a huge step, but then again, it might be more fun to get his initial reactions to my comments. Debating it for all but two seconds, I type out a message to him, making sure I’m signed on under my LSY persona. HandsRomingMyBody: Hey you. My text turns into a new message on the app and I wait on bated breath to see if he will respond. Nerves prickle up my spine, my fingers feeling numb, my mind playing mutiny with my heart just as little dots appear letting me know he’s typing.

Oh God, I don’t think I’ve been more excited.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Sara Ney is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the How to Date a Douchebag series, and is best known for her sexy, laugh-out-loud New Adult romances. Among her favorite vices, she includes: iced latte's, historical architecture and well-placed sarcasm. She lives colorfully, collects vintage books, art, loves flea markets, and fancies herself British. She lives with her husband, children, and her ridiculously large dog.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy

voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

This book was seriously pure fun. It is a enemies to love story but also a boss/employee romance. And it was done is such a way that made it so much fun!!

The stars of this book are Rome, he is the BIG boss. He is grumpy and is a stick in the mud but Peyton has this HIGE crush on him. The two meet as she quits her job to start her own company. And that's when she grabs Rome's attention.

From then on the two spar and flirt and that's when the fun starts. Then Peyton gets drunk at her birthday, creates a fake work email and drunk emails Rome. That is how the two become pen pals and friends and when Rome lets her in.

This was so much fun and I loved every single character in the story. Well almost everyone. If you love sexting or stories with secret pen pals then you will love this story. It is filled with fun, flirting and hot times and lots and lots of humor all taking place at work.

Trusting You - Players to Lovers #1 - by Ketley Allison

About the Book

Carter

My best friend died tonight and her baby girl might be taken away from me, too, if I don’t find Lily’s father before she’s ripped out of my life and given to another family.

Unfortunately, I know who he is. He’s my best friend’s ex, and I hate him in memory and on sight.

I love this baby, but I don’t love him. Even if he does whatever it takes to make me trust him, and it seems he’s determined to do exactly that.

There’s just so little of my heart left, and I can’t—won’t—reserve any of it for that bastard, Lachlan Hayes.

Locke

A pro-football prodigy, success was laid out in golden dollar signs—until an injury so cringe-worthy it went viral laid me out for good.

Since then, I’ve discovered booze and sex, and I get both whenever I want.

Until a girl shows up at my literal doorstep, telling me about a baby I never knew I had.

As she looks at me with tears her eyes, I have a sick feeling my world is about to spin out again.

I’m in deep sh*t, because in no life plan did I think I’d raise a daughter, and I sure as hell didn’t think I’d fall in love with the woman that comes with her.

CARTER
“I’d better go,” I say.
“Yeah.” Locke waves us off. “Go. But make sure to come back, okay?”
I offer him a small, deflated smile as I push the stroller through the doorway. “I’m not going to abscond with your baby.”
“I don’t just mean the baby.”
The door’s almost shut, but I catch a glimpse of his face as he says it, and in those brief seconds, I detect nothing but irritation.
It makes no sense, his words coupled with his expression, but I’m coming to understand that about Locke. The conflict and layers and constant upkeep it takes for him to keep pretending everything in his life is okay.
I lift the stroller the way I saw Locke do it—surprised by the lightness—and descend the staircase sideways. Lily smacks at my face and tries to palm my nose. I blow a raspberry at her, but I’m thinking about the man I left behind, and how I’m coming to learn that sometimes, it’s not kindness I crave.
Seeing Locke angry is upsetting. But understanding its impact unearths a sexual lust coiled beneath my bones.
I’m used to emotional charge. Usually in the rollercoaster form of grief, thinking everything will to be all right, like when the treatment’s working and Paige has more energy, before the crash of devastation when told there’s nothing more that can be done.
But this ride with Locke…the leap from anger to happiness to sweetness, then back to anger, in such a short amount of time, has me wanting to lift my dress and deal with the overdrive in an entirely different way. I want to straddle him, to massage and kiss and tame him.
I shudder as I drop Lily’s wheels to the ground.
Maybe…

I can keep looking forward to dinner.

About the Author

Ketley Allison has always been a romantic at heart. That passion ignited when she realized she could put those dreams into words and her soul into characters. Ketley was born in Canada, moved to Australia when she was thirteen, to California when she was twenty, and finally to New York to attend law school, but most of that time was spent sitting in coffee shops and wine bars thinking of her next book.

Her other passions include coffee, wine, Big Macs, her cat, and her husband, possibly in that order.

This book was just so different than I have read before. It takes star crossed would be lovers and turns them into enemies and then roomies and makes them bond over the love of a child. But Locke has some big secrets and as all secrets it blows up in his face.

Carter at the start of this book has lost her best friend but she has her best friends daughter. Until she doesn't. That is why Carter goes after Locke to get the child she loves out of Foster care. Locke and Carter went to college together and he was and still is a manwhore. Until the day Carter tells him he is a dad.

In this story we watch him grow up and become a father and it was rather special watching that. He has some big secrets in relation to Carter's best friend and so you know that is going to blow up and when it does I really enjoyed the fireworks. I love Carter's character. She loves with her whole heart and I loved watching her come to see who Locke is and help him grow up.

This was a wonderful story about a single dad who becomes one overnight and the woman that falls for him and loves his child. I cannot wait for the next book in the series about Locke's sister.

Southern Charmer - Charleston Heat #1 - by Jessica Peterson

 About the Book

He’s sexy. He’s southern. And he’s a superstar chef. Meet Elijah Jackson, my hot new neighbor...

From the outside looking in? I’ve got it all. Prestigious job. Pretty house. And a perfect boyfriend who proposed with the perfect ring.

But as beautiful as my life looks on the outside, I feel like something’s missing. So I hop in my car and head south. I’m hoping the thousand mile distance will clear my mind--and give me time to work on the romance novel I secretly want to write.

Charleston, South Carolina: home to stunning architecture, sultry accents, and--oh yeah--my new neighbor, Elijah Jackson. A chef at one of the city’s most renowned restaurants, he’s simultaneously intimidating and inviting. Especially when he shows up at my door, shirtless, offering me homemade biscuits.

As if his abs for days and inked up deliciousness aren’t enticing enough, he also encourages me to chase down my dreams, one chapter at a time. And the chemistry between us? Hotter than the kitchen at Eli’s restaurant.

But I still have a life a thousand miles away. One I’ve worked really hard to build. And I don’t know if I can just leave it all behind.

Romance novels always end in happily ever after. But is one possible for a southern charmer and this yankee girl?

SOUTHERN CHARMER is a slow burn, standalone romance. It’s the first book in the CHARLESTON HEAT series, set in Charleston, South Carolina.

About the Author

Jessica Peterson began reading romance to escape the decidedly unromantic awkwardness of her teenage years. Having found solace in the likes of Mr. Darcy, Jamie Fraser (OMG love the gingers!), and Edward Cullen, it wasn’t long before she began creating tall, dark and handsome heroes of her own.

She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Mr. Peterson, and her smelly Goldendoodle Martha Bean. She is the author of the super sexy STUDY ABROAD and FLINGS WITH KINGS series. Check her out at www.jessicapeterson.com

This was a well written and interesting romance between a hot chef, Eli and a writer of hot stories, Olivia. Olivia has it all, great job, good man, money but she is very unhappy. She runs away to Charlotte, SC where her friend has a house she can stay in. That is when she meets hot chef, Eli, her neighbor.

They start out as neighbors and become good friends and he cooks for her and she lets him read her work in progress. Olivia at the start of the story is on a break from her boyfriend and I liked that she waits to end things before she gets romantically involved with Eli.

Eli when he finds out about the boyfriend well things do not go well. Think alpha and jealous man. Eli has some issues as well. He owns two restaurants and one is a success and one is failing so he is a man needing comforting and I love how Olivia flirts and helps him deal.

Together they were a fun couple and I really enjoyed watching them fall in love.

ABOUT THE BOOK

She can't stand him. He thinks she's never more adorable than when she's pissed at him.

Liddy Drake would rather gamble on double black diamond runs than take a chance on love. Escaping dreary San Francisco for a Colorado mountain resort with her besties is just what the doctor ordered. But an injury on the first day lands her in the lap of a loud-mouthed ski instructor who knows exactly how to get under her skin.

She doesn’t have time to waste on a playboy with a too-easy laugh and gorgeous blue eyes. Luke Sawyer left New York ten years ago for the ski runs of Colorado, concealing his identity as a Rothchild heir. He’d seen money change too many people, never for good. Scrappy, sassy, and oh-so-sexy Liddy doesn’t fall for the mask of his over-the-top charm. He accepts the challenge to show her his true self.

Their chemistry is enough to melt snow-capped mountains, until she finds out the truth. There’s no way her humble background could compete with America’s royalty. How can he melt the ice around her heart and convince her that Mr. Wrong is actually Mr. Right, who loves her just the way she is?

“Anyone need skiing lessons? We have the best instructors on the planet, right here at Buffalo Ridge. Or at least the best ones who showed up to their final exams.” He grinned and got a few chuckles from bystanders. “We promise full support and positive reinforcement, and will only make fun of you behind your back. We encourage everyone to take a nice full shot of whiskey before they put on their skis, to help loosen up your muscles and your wallets for extra tips.” “Oh, brother,” Liddy mumbled under her breath, and pushed through a crowd of teenagers watching the man’s pathetic excuse for a sales pitch.

The instructor continued, “Safety is our top priority, followed closely by leaving all inhibitions at the door.” Just as I expected—one of those guys. Liddy had almost made it to the end of the hallway. “You, the gorgeous woman in the white coat trying to sneak by...” Liddy froze. And cringed. The man grinned. “You look like you could use ski lessons. Or at least a stiff drink at the bar.” She straightened her spine, and addressed him eye-to-eye, despite all the gawkers and bystanders. “Are you the instructor? My instructor?” “I can be, for you.” Liddy smiled. “Then, no thanks.” The man’s smile slipped. A few guests oohed at the burn, and others chuckled. “Why not?” he asked. Never mind that I ski black diamonds, I just don’t like you. “If it were with one of the others, I might consider it.”

A few more hisses came from the crowd.
She turned to find the rental shop, but she heard his footsteps behind her, trying to follow. “Wait, you don’t like me? Everyone likes me.” “I can’t imagine why,” Liddy threw over her shoulder. He laughed, the sound of his voice much closer than before. “Why don’t you like me?” “You’re obnoxious. And I already know how to ski.” “I could make you better.” She rolled her eyes. “Modesty is so hard to find these days.” “I’m not being cocky, just trying to find the best way to talk to you more. It’s not every day an angel walks into Buffalo Ridge.”

About Mia:

Mia loves to write! She’s been reading fiction for years and finally decided that the images and scenes floating around in her head needed to make it to paper. She’s a huge fan of romance, highly optimistic, and wildly faithful to the HEA (happily ever after). She’s inspired by most anything around her.

And her biggest obstacle is not having enough time to get it all down on paper (or my computer, as the case may be). Her goal is create a fantasy you will enjoy with characters you could love. She lives in Texas with her attentive, loving, super-model husband, and her perfectly behaved, brilliant children. Her produce never wilts, there are no weeds in her flowerbeds, and chocolate is her favorite food group. And then she wakes up.

This is my first time reading this author and it is book 3 in a series of which I have not read any of the previous stories. That said I easily followed along and this story easily stands alone. It is a series about three besties finding love on vacation. Liddy is the star of this story.

Liddy is a 30 year old woman living in San Franscisco where its very rainy and she is super bored. She calls up her besties and they decide to go skiing. Liddy is very down on romance and love for herself and so when she sees handsome Luke, she lets him have it.

Luke meanwhile is in lust. This is a HOT story. Lots of sex scenes. It is a little longer than novella but not a full novel size either. While having lots of sex scenes, it still manages to tell a great story and I never felt it was too short.

The biggest issue in this story is trust both from Liddy and Luke. Liddy has been majorly burned so trust is very important to her and Luke has a HUGE secret about his family. So when it comes out well it gets very COLD.

This was a well written and enjoyable story, that if you enjoy sex in your stories you will love. It is also a vacation romance, so its like a vacation without you having to leave your house.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who wrote sappy poetry about every relationship gone wrong. She had her heart broken many times before the man of her dreams stepped off a big Navy ship and swept her off her feet, promising to never hold her shoe obsession against her.
From that day forward, she swore she'd never again write sappy poetry of unrequited love. Instead, a sucker for smooches and happily-ever-afters, Niecey Roy now writes contemporary romance inspired by her sailor's sexy brown eyes and charming sense of humor.

This is book 2 in the series and it easily stands alone. It takes us to a small town River Bend where everyone knows everyone and everyone grew up together. It introduces us to Trey and Hillary who are close family friends and close friends but who have never even shared a kiss. Until they do and that is when Trey decides he is all in but Hillary, thinks he is a bad bet and so the convincing begins...

I loved this entire story. Even the exes that try and get in the way of Hill and Trey. I want to see them find happiness. I loved Mia and Brett and Mason and Clarke and Jaxson and Sybil. Every single side character was wonderful even if at times I wanted to slap them.

At times Trey was a wonderful character full of romance and hotness and other times I wanted to kick his butt. Hillary has this great guy and she has to learn to open her heart to him and when she does well WOW.

I absolutely LOVED this story and I am really loving the author's writing style. This is my third book by the author and she is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.
