Her Greatest Mistake by Eve L. Mitchell

ABOUT THE BOOK

I knew the moment I saw Aiden that he was the kind of man who would break a woman’s heart. With his looks, he could grace the cover of any book or magazine.

Even as I got to know him, his hard no-nonsense attitude was alluring. He was as captivating as he was intense, and having his attention was as intoxicating as it was overwhelming. My pulse raced and my stomach fluttered when I was near him.

Yes, Aiden would break a woman’s heart. If she let him.

Maybe, even if she didn’t.

I didn’t mean to let him break mine. I didn’t mean to let him get so far under my skin that he got into my heart.

One moment of passion—that’s all it was. I was reckless. I was stupid.

I didn’t know.

He ripped my heart out without even breaking a sweat.

He said he could explain. I don’t want to hear his lies.

I was stupid that night, but I can’t be again. I can’t let him close enough to make the same mistake twice.

This is my first time reading this author and I did not love this story for several reasons. That said it is very well written and it was an engaging story and I could not put it down.

The reasons I did not enjoy this story is:

1. It featured cheating. I don't want to get too much into the how and why of the cheating because it would be considered a spoiler but if cheating bothers you like it does me, I would not read this story.

2. There are big mob/mafia aspects to this story. Again I can't give you specifics and spoil the story, but if you hate mafia/mob storylines then I would not pick up this book. I will say that no one dies in this story and its more of a mafia family type of story with threats and the mob family, but nothing violent happens in this story either. The mob aspects were fairly tame.

This follows Gemma, who is a PA who works for a lawyer, she is friends with. The office building needs repairs and Aidan's company is hired to do the work. Gemma becomes his liason with the firm and so starts a very sexual relationship between these two.

The story is told ONLY from Gemma's point of view and I tend to not like one sided stories but Aidan has alot of secrets and for most of the book he refuses to tell Gemma what they are. So the story needs to be told with with only his viewpoint.
