The Games We Play by Melissa Toppen

BLURB

Roman Danvers.

Collegiate athlete.

Notorious playboy.

And my arch nemesis since birth.

Our parents’ friendship meant we had to co-exist. But it didn’t mean we had to like it. He purposely did things to get under my skin. Like spreading rumors about me in junior high so no boys wanted to go out with me. Or sleeping with several of my high school friends, just to prove he could. And let’s not forget about him conveniently choosing to attend my first choice college, even though he had dozens of other schools desperate for him to play ball for them, just to spite me.

His life mission has been to make me miserable. But when I decide to give him a taste of his own medicine, he doesn’t respond well to the shoe being on the other foot. The further I push, the harder he pushes back.

I know it’s only a matter of time before one of us breaks. I just never dreamt it would be him who would crack first. And we he does, things take a turn I never saw coming.

I thought we were just playing games.

I was wrong…

GIVEAWAY

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The author did an amazing job with this story. It was hot, sexy, swoon worthy but also deals with a very serious subject and was intense at times. It's a bully, hate to love kind of romance and I adored both Roman and Bexley.

Roman has a major thing for Bex but he has a serious health issue that has forced him to try and keep distance between them. He loves her enough to want to save her from being with him. The way he does this is by bullying and torturing her.

When they go home for the holiday's things get very intense and he has to make a decision to let her in and let her see him issues and all. And Bex has top decide if she can let the past go and forgive Roman and move forward.

This was a wonderful story, and I really felt the characters pain. I loved how strong Bex was and how much Roman adored her. This was a really romantic story and I really enjoyed reading it,
