Under The Stars is the second book in the Cottonwood Cove series and is connected to the author's previous series Honey Mountain. Yes, we see the honey mountain crew in this story in a cameo appearance near the end.
This was such an awesome story. Georgie is totally the best assistant ever and I loved how Maddox is with her. He tries to be this really tough and difficult boss, but her beautiful spirit and heart totally disarms him, and he cannot resist her. The interview was like the best interview ever and I loved how was the best meet cute I have read in a while.
This is a romance at work. It's a bit secret at first because Maddox tries super hard to resist Georgie. She is 22/23 and he is in his thirties so there is also an age gap. But the biggest issue is that he has a slimy father who cheated with his assistants', and he never wants to go there so it's more of a personal code and that's why he tries to keep it secret.
But these two forms such a wonderful boss/employee and then they become best friends. Maddox just cannot stay away, and he falls so hard for her that it's not something he can turn away from. This is probably one of the very best love stories I have read in years. Like you can feel the love they have for each other as it explodes off the pages and into your heart.
It's not all love and hearts though, I actually cried near the end. My heart kind of broke for Maddox and Georgie. But I loved the ending so much. I also adored Wyle who is Maddox's brother and I hope he finds love too because I loved him so very much.
This was such a wonderful romance. It was light and fun until it got a little bit serious and then I could not put this book down. This is one of those stories that I know I will be re-reading over and over again because it was just so wonderful and romantic.
