That wasn’t in my carefully crafted, five-year plan. The one I came up with after I got a second chance at life. Neither was giving my heart to the beautiful baby boy I was taking care of. Even if I saw that coming the moment I laid eyes on him.
Falling in love with his father… now that, I didn’t see coming.
But I’d dare anyone to spend time getting to know the real Jace Kingston…
The man behind the hockey jersey, grumpy attitude, and panty-meltingly gorgeous face.
The one who sings his son to sleep so sweetly… who holds him with such care.
The same man who knows how to light every inch of my body on fire.
The one I can’t resist.
It was supposed to be one year of my life.
I’d pay off my student loans.
He’d get through his first season of pro hockey.
Then I’d help him find my replacement.
If only it was that easy.

This is Jace's story. He is just 21/22 when this story begins and it's a standalone book, but we also see the beginning of it in Sawyer and Wren's book, Shaken. In this book we get all the details of the worst day in Jace's life that also shapes his future and his relationship with his family.
In this story he has become a single dad. If you are wondering how that happened well that's part of the mystery in this book and also the growth that happens to Jace in this story that he goes back and tries to find out what happened and how etc.
Jace has made many mistakes, but he also has done some really awesome things. In this book he really has to learn how to move on and forgive himself as he is not the same guy as he was in his past. WE really see his growth in this book not only with his past but also as he becomes a man, a dad and as he relates to his family.
He meets India/Indy when she comes to interview for his new baby boy, Cohen. For these two it's a little bit of insta love/lust. He needs help because he is now playing for his families hockey team and training is about to begin. The scenes with little Cohen were so sweet and adorable and the author really made me visualize how hot Jace was while holding Cohen and the care and effort he took with his son.
Indy was an awesome character. She has graduated college and is a teacher but with no experience, she ends up applying to be Jace's nanny. She really is one strong woman and a total fighter. I loved how she dealt with Max and his sister and the entire family. She also comes with an adorable grampa and a very hot football playing brother named Atlas.
I really loved that both Jace and Indy fall hard for each other but it's not all lovey dovey and they have real issues to confront and learn how to deal with it. They both are very young, but we see them really grow and learn to communicate during this story.
This was a wonderful story and I adored both Indy and Jace. I also adored Sophie and Harper and I hope the author has stories for them too. I loved how good friends they are to Indy and how they support her throughout the book.
