In this book we meet Drake and Wren. Both are doctors who live in Heartwood Lake, and they are keeping some really big secrets. 

Wren is a single mom raising her five-year-old son. Wren ends up working alongside Drake so this is a romance at work, enemies finding love and so much more. 

I found the buildup of this series took a while in this book. It was setting the stage, I guess you can say. I felt the romance aspect of the story happened a bit too fast for me. And the wrap of this couple just happened too fast for me. I would have enjoyed more getting to know Wren and Drake as a couple and watch them date. But I also really loved the concept of this story and there were so many aspects of the future stories that I am really excited to see what the author does next.

There is also an age gap in this story though I have no idea of Wren's age. We do know Drake's age and that is 42 and many times her calls Wren young. But we never learn her real age. In my mind I was picturing around 30 but I really wish the author had given this detail.

I enjoyed this story and could not put it down. I still have tons of questions and favorites that I met in this book. This book easily stands alone, but future books are prob not stand alones.
