ABOUT THE BOOK

Slone Day, defensive end for the Longview professional football team, has a lot on his plate.

He’s at the peak of his career, he’s a single father raising a girl that’s border line genius and can’t seem to find the time to date. Let alone see someone seriously.

He’s perfectly content living his life as it is.

Then he goes to a circus.

There, he meets a woman that literally takes his breath away.

And in one bold, crazy, this is probably going to backfire move, he not only asks the woman out. But he invites her to spend the next two weeks with him while she’s recovering from an incident.

***

There she is, a practical invalid who can’t go anywhere without being babysat, experiencing a crisis in the middle of a public setting, when she spots him.

The moment that Caristonia Singh meets Slone, she realizes her life is about to change.

Meeting men when you work in a circus is practically impossible. That’s why she’s the inexperienced girl that doesn’t know how to act around a hot guy.

A really big, really sexy, holy crap he could toss me over his head and make it look easy, guy.

From the moment he comes to her defense—family can be dicks sometimes—she starts falling.

But nothing good ever lasts when it comes to the circus life.

People come and go. No one ever stays.

But Slone is dead set on proving her wrong, but she’s learned firsthand that nothing good ever lasts.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The whole circus series seemed a bit strange to me so I have not read the first book in the series. But when I saw this book starred Slone, you could not keep me away.

Slone was a teen dad who had a great family that helped him out with his newborn baby. The babies mom was killed and he went on to play football and be a single dad. This happened in a previous book several series back. If you don't remember this, no biggie because we get his back story in this book as well.

In this story he helps out when Toni or Ari's sister gets kidnapped (1st book in series which I did not read.) From the second these two meet its like fate. They just get each other. Ari is a very different character than I have read before. She is very family oriented, is afraid of heights and works with her family at a traveling circus. If you are thinking her family is great, they are beyond awful and she hates her job. But she does love her siblings. Though several times a year she gets to take a family vacation where she goes so she can escape her family and circus. This vacation coincides with Slone going to play some football games and she tags alone. She also has some quirks and things she cannot control about herself but she is open and shares this info so it doesn't become this thing that can come between them.

I loved Ari and Slone together. They both are just there for each other through ups and downs, and I adored how he fought for her, even with her own family. I also adored that we get to catch up with the Dixie Wardens and a few old-time characters show up in this book as well.

This book starts and ends at the circus, but it actually is not about circus life. It actually is more a football romance than circus romance. I absolutely adored getting to see Slone find his happily ever after.
