This is Georgina/Gio and Rick's story, and it easily stands alone. It also takes place in the mafia/billionaire world that the author has created in her previous series. It is a sports romance and takes place within the British sport of Hockey.

This is a fake relationship/engagement romance with close proximity/roommates trope and Rick is a total male alpha in the very best of ways. 

This is also a very HOT book so be warned it might burn your kindle. Rick is very HOT and he is deeply into Gio. But she is the one who is not quite ready for him, until he makes her burn for him that is.

I really loved this couple and their intensity and connection to each other. I also loved all the new players introduced in this book and I cannot wait for them to find their happily ever after. 

I felt this book was too long. It easily could have been two books. At times I felt it dragged in the middle as you have Rick lusting for Gio and she him, but he also helds himself away from her and we don't really find out why until later in the book. For me to get to that point, it took a really long time and a few times I almost quit. Once I got to the why and what the whole point of this story was, well I was all in. It gave the book a fun revengeful angle and it kept me turning the pages I wanted to see what happens next. But to get there I felt took way too long.

Something I loved about Gio was that when Rick hurts her, she is not an easy forgiver. She makes him work hard for it and that takes time and I really ended up respecting her because she did not accept his apology and move on. She made him suffer and I was totally cheering for her the whole time.
