This is Hammer/Peggy/Aurora's story. She is a 20 year old college student and she is in love with her dads best friend who is 33 and a player on her dads team and her dads neighbor.
Sounds forbidden right? but its so not. First Peggy is extremely mature. Her dad had her as a teenager so to some degree she grew up with him. She also has this really amazing mother who was not always there physically but was always with her spiritually.
We also get to know Hollis and he is a very hot fella but he had his broken 7+ years ago and he has locked his heart up since then. That is for everyone but Peggy. When he was not looking she snuck in there. He seems her as a kid, until well he doesn't and that is when the fun begins.
This is a long book. You have been warned. I am a fast read and it took me almost a week to finish it. But I love that the author did not make anything easy. She makes Hollis work for Aurora's heart and she has to work for his as well.
We also get some jealous moments which I LOVED. The time that Hollis and her dad crash her first date. OMG it was awesome. He also has an ex who comes back to town and tries to stir up trouble. I really appreciated that the author never turns this into a love triangle.
This couple was so awful but its extremely complicated for them to find their happy ending! I cannot wait for the next book.
