“Hey, Christene. Wait up!”
I stopped mid-step, and my heart stuttered.
That voice. I’d remember that voice anywhere. Thick. Deep.
Sexy.
It’d been months since I heard him or seen him in person.
I’d viewed every movie he’d made, watched every YouTube video of his
interviews, and listened in on my sister’s conversations with her boyfriend
just to hear what was going on in his life.
My pulse ticked up in tempo. Tick. Tick. Tick.
Like a bass drumming on the inside of my wrists.
I froze, took a deep breath, composed myself, and turned
around ever so slowly to find Jordan Ryder—the highest-paid actor in show

In this story we meet Christene/Tene. Her sister is in love with Cade (book 1) and so he throws a party for a promotion she received and Tene is there to celebrate and its also where she meets Jordan who is Cade's foster brother. Jordan is a big Hollywood movie star and so the description of this story seemed to be about romance with a big movie star and the hassles and issues that occur because of that. That is not what this story is about at all.
Jordan many years before was in love with his soulmate, Candice. Candice was Cade's sister and she had a car accident that killed Jordan's father, his girlfriend and handicapped his mother. Cade warns Tene that Jordan is still in love with Candace and so he tries to get them to stay away from each other because he doesn't want her hurt.
Meanwhile Tene is now single after her ex dumped her for his one true love and now they are happily together. She wants a guy who will put her first and being how in love Jordan was with Candace, she worries that he will never love her like he did Candice.
The two have a little sex but Jordan really likes her and wants more but she also does not want to compete with a ghost and that really is what this book is about. It is told in Tene's voice the entire time and so we never hear from Jordan's voice. But its really about can Jordan move on from his first love? Meanwhile Jordan also has a stalker who likes to cause trouble.
This was a lot deeper than I expected and to same degree it had a lot of angyst to the story. I really enjoyed it even though it was different than I expected. It easily stands alone and has some great suspense as things heat up with the stalker.
