Sam does not like sports figures, she feels they cheat on their spouses because of a bad experience and so when River expresses an interest in her, she denies him. This is very much a story about two people who are very attracted but one in which the boy chases the girl.
Sam is a strong woman and has tons of confidence but her relationship with Rover is very much forbidden as she is told she could lose her job if she does not keep it 100% professional.
Both characters were a lot of fun and they are very hot together. It is a novella story but it never feels like that as the story is told.
