This is book 2 in a series from of interconnecting books but each book is a standalone and takes place in the rock n roll world that the author has created.
Honestly I have read a majority of the books by the author and there are many couples and recurring characters in this book and if I was a brand new reader I would have been lost with who is who and who is married to who and who has who kids. But aside from that I really feel this book can stand alone.
This story introduces some new characters, Logan, Kennedy and Amy. Logan is Amy's brother and Kennedy is the fiancee and new bride that we meet at the beginning of the book as we get Colin's romance. He is part of the 22 Goats band and is the drummer. He also grew up next door to Logan and Amy, who is his little sister that had a major crush on him growing up.
When Colin sees Amy he is very attracted and enjoys getting to know her again, but he is afraid to express interest because Logan is his best friend and its against the bro code, but he also fears his and Amy's mom and how they will see grandkids in their future.
So because he really likes Amy he ends up hiring her as his new PA and even offers her a guestroom and so they also become roomies. This is very much a forbidden and second chance romance.
One aspect to the story I really loved a lot is that a lot of the songs mentioned in this book, you can listen too by clicking the link/s in the book. Its a really idea and I loved hearing the songs.
