This is a fun romp between two people who have known each other from high school, they also share the same group of friends, but they are also very opposite in personality and dreams. This is not really a second chance romance because they have never even kissed.
Kendra is a black woman, and she is back in town helping her dad run his restaurant. She is smart, savvy, and very sexy but she also has always had big dreams and been very driven for success. She is back in town dumped by a guy she trusted, her business is stuck, and she is working with her dad. She feels very down and like a failure.
Jason has never left town and became a fire fighter after high school. He is out of a long-term romance where his ex-married a rich guy. He is also up for a promotion, but he is unsure if he wants it. He is the fun guy, casual, laid back and the life of a party. Except most of his buddies are in relationships and his heart is a bit bruised by his ex.
As Kendra and Jason get to know each other they rekindle their friendship, and you start to see how they are building each other up and cheering each other on is their professional lives as well as becoming very close friends.
I really adored their relationship and when they start seeing each other as rebounds well that's when it gets really interesting and fun. If you love opposite romances, small towns then you will love this story.
