Easier Said Than Done - Lindell Series #2 - by Marie James (Cash and Adalynn)

BLURB

If you can’t ask your best friend to get you pregnant then who can you ask?

Adalynn Tate made a promise to her childhood friend.
They vowed that they’d do everything together, including marrying their junior high crush and having all their babies at the same time.
Her friend has succeeded. She got the guy, and the first bun is in the oven.
Now it’s Adalynn’s turn to make her own dreams a reality.
When Adalynn’s best guy friend comes over, he sees the pamphlets for her to have a baby on her own.
Cash does what any best friend would do – offers his free, platonic services instead of extra medical bills.
He doesn’t know Adalynn has had a crush on him since junior high, something she’s done her best to lock down deep as not to threaten their friendship.
Adalynn knows in this world you don’t get to have it all: the baby, the man, the fairytale.
But Cash has other plans for her.

AUTHOR BIO

Marie James is a full-time author, mother of two boys, and wife of 18+ years. Dog Mom to four great danes: Maximus, Sassy, Kiki, and Hagrid.

She has spent almost my entire lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. She is currently residing in a sleepy little town in East Tennessee.

Writing is her passion, and she absolutely loves being able to sit down and put all of her thoughts and emotions into her stories.

She loves dogs, coffee, making handmade cards, and reading steamy romance novels!

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is Adalynn and Cash's story and its a story about two besties who are in love with each other but have no clue about each other's feelings, figuring out that they belong together. Its a very slow burn and a very twisted road they go on. They have to figure out how to be vulnerable with each other and at times I was very frustrated with them because everyone knew how they felt, well except each other.

In the middle of it, Adalynn decides she wants to get pregnant, and she feels Cash is hopeless and he will never see her as anything other than a friend. Meanwhile Cash has a lot of excuses about Adalynn and why they can't be together. On one hand he thinks she is all vanilla sex, and he wants it not vanilla. Then he feels unworthy of her because he is a foster kid with no family. He kind of drove me as crazy as he drives Adalynn and I really felt for her. She loves this really complicated guy who is so confusing. Honestly the decisions she makes, I would have done too. But I am not telling you what that was.

This book when it finally gets going is HOT. So, if you like a hot sexy guy then Cash is definitely that. And while he has all these excuses, his heart is Adalynn's and has been for years. He definitely had some very swoony moments for me.

There are some shenanigans in this book related to Adalynn's brothers and at times I am not sure I loved that. They like sharing girlfriends and well that's a bit too much for me. Then the author introduces this guy Carter and I have no idea what's going on there.

I enjoyed reading this story but at times I just wanted for these two to communicate. I really wish I got more scenes with Cash and Adalynn after they confessed their feelings and less of a rollercoaster of their finding their way. But aside from that I enjoyed the book.
