I have really enjoyed this series, but my favorite book was book one about Lexie and Kade. And Kendall, the heroine in this book was in that first book as she is Lexie's twin sister with bipolar. In that first book Julian is secretly dating her and using her and Kade saves Kendall from his enemy and former friend Julian

This story is Kendall and Julian's story. This is the aftermath. While it was one I was anxiously waiting to read it was not my favorite. I really loved the first book and this one was a close 2nd favorite, I would like to say that I admire the author for writing a very risky story, one we hardly see in romance stories.

Kendall has had bipolar and depression her entire life. She finds drugs that work for her in this book and turns her life around and gets a job and learns how to stand on her own feet but she is still bipolar, she doesn't magically get cured and I admire the author for writing about a segenbt of the population thats voice is never heard.

Julian wants kendall back and he has changed. He also has issues as he is a former drug addict and is now in AA and has a sponsor. I liked that the author showed how its not an easy thing to beat addiction. That it is always there and you just have to work the system and make decisions that help rather than hinder your recovery.

This story is about Kendall learning to forgive, Julian moving on and overcoming his past and even Lexie and Kade learning to let go. It was an enjoyable story and I enjoyed the characters. Was it my favorite Carly Philips book? No. I felt there were alot of sex scenes but they were not scorching like I have been used to in her other stories.

I also to some degree didn't connect super well with Kendall and Julian. I just have never suffered from their issues so maybe that is why. But I did learn alot and I was definitely entertained.
