Wedding Date by Monica Murphy

ABOUT THE BOOK

Wedding Date by Monica Murphy is now live!

Kelsey Phillips is over the dating scene.

All that time and energy perfecting your profile and taking just the right picture and articulating exactly what you're looking for, only to get the same sleazy propositions? No thanks. She's doing just fine on her own, so there's no point in a fruitless hunt for "the one" that doesn't exist.

Besides, she already has the perfect man in her life. Theo is the type of friend who's always there for a laugh, a hug, or a drink-- and no propositions.

So when he somehow manages to agree to be a groomsman in his ex-fiance's wedding to his cousin, the least Kelsey can do is be his date.

But why stop at doing the least?

Pretending to be in a relationship is easy. They already know everything about each other. And it sure isn't hard to fake attraction to a guy as gorgeous as Theo. Soon enough, the only pretense left is that they haven't fallen for each other for real... and the very small matter of the secret Kelsey's been keeping. Can a fake relationship survive this real revelation?

This is Kelsey and Theo's story. Both are characters that we have met and gotten to know in previous books in the series. However this story while sixth and the conclusion of the series, can easily stand alone.

In the last book Kelsey became good friends with Eleanor when they met at a speedating event. Kelsey is also friends with Alex and Caroline from another book in the series as she is Alex's assistant.

Theo and K have become good friends. When she met him, he was depressed after his ex cheated on him with his jerk cousin. Now the ex and cousin are getting married and so he decides he needs a date to the wedding and he wants K to go with him.

K is stunner but she has low self esteem and has done some terrible things to get ahead in life. She really feels for Theo and they are good friends so she wants to help him out. They decide the first step is to introduce her to his family before the wedding.

And so the hijinks start and K and Theo start exploring more than just friendship. K is a bit much for me honestly. At times she is wild and reckless and very exciting to Theo. What I adored about her is her loyalty and love for her friends including Theo.

As they explore a relationship I think K struggles a little as its all new to her. Theo falls really hard for K and at times I felt he struggled to get to know K on a deeper level.

I loved how K really matures and grows in this story  and starts to want a different life than the one she has had up to now and Theo and his family is a big part of that.

I have loved this series. It takes place in Carmel, CA which is by the ocean and I love how the author weaves the locale into the story. It was a great way to end the series and very hot and sexy and romantic.
