This was an interesting story. It stars the marriage planner. Thea and the previous runaway bride x3 and the father of the bride, Oliver, a very wealthy and single dad. His daughter is engaged and he needs to pull off a wedding in NYC at The Plaza in 4 weeks.

This was a really fun story and I loved the attraction between T and O and how she runs away from her attraction as she feels she will just break his heart and ruin her business. While he knows she is different and absolutely chases her.

All the characters in this story were great and it was very well written. I highly recommend for some fun and light reading.

Excerpt

"Don't expect romance and declarations of love from me. It's not who I am. If you agree to this, there won't be anyone else, for either of us. I was never good at sharing when I was young, and I'm worse now. I can't let you agree to this unless you understand that you'll have my body, but I don't have a heart to give you."
"Keep it. Giving away something you can't live without leaves you to wither and die. I know, I watched it happen to my mother, and I will never be like her."
"So, are you willing to give this a try?"
I looked at him, really looked at him. Could I keep my heart safe? Already he'd shown me glimpses of someone possibly as broken as I was under his polished veneer. He was dangerous to me because he might tempt me to do the one thing I'd always avoided, fall head over heels.
God help me. I thought I'd evaded temptation in the past. I'd run from every boyfriend who threatened to make me feel anything more than lust. Maybe, knowing he wasn't going to fall in love with me would be the difference. We could fight off the loneliness together, and guard our hearts at the same time. It had to work because I didn't think I had the strength to say no to him. No, that wasn't exactly true. I didn't want to walk away from him, and that scared me more.
"Yes. I want to give this, whatever this is, a try."

This is a brand new author for me and this story was a little different than I am used to reading. It read very much like Pretty Woman and a retelling of Cinderella in many ways.

The heroine in this story is Evie/Evelyn and she is a 23 year old waitress with a college degree when she meets Beckett. He is an extremely wealthy guy who has some big problems and he decides Evie is the person to distract him and so he hires her to be his assistant and girlfriend and it all begins on a business trip.

Evie has had a very hard life and she refuses to be pitied. She has a very wealthy best friend but refuses to use her to get ahead but when Beckett gives her a job she goes for it. And it changes her life in some really major ways.

If there is any message in this story it is that take a chance on life and just LIVE it. And I really loved Evie. She is a strong female lead and she has had a very hard life but she keeps on going. Beckett is silent for a lot of the book until nearer the end when we start to see inside his head and discover his motivations.

This was a well written story, just I tend to go for a different kind of story. I would class this story as more like erotica but also with a side of drama. Beckett has some secrets that he tries to not expose and Evie is a go getter and so we wants to really know who he is.

Learn to Love - Bowser Belles #3 - by Teddy Cat Hester

Blurb

What happens when the worlds of Pollyanna and Charlie Brown collide?

Megan Pennybaker is a preschool teacher whose life is full of sunshine and her two yellow labs—Happy and GoLucky. She’s determined her gifted students have permanent access to the strip of land running behind her property and the neighboring golf course. Unfortunately, the owner of said golf course—a Gloomy Gus with piratical good looks who obviously knows nothing about children or dogs—wants that land, too. She's going to need cash and public support to outwit him.

William Love is an injured golf pro who carts around his own thundercloud and an abandoned pit bull he refuses to name. He needs that strip of land to be part of the golf course he just bought. Who knew that his neighbor--who was practically squatting on the place with her rowdy kids and dogs--was connected to half the town? It’s just his luck that she’s a flighty, entitled child-woman, uncomfortably reminiscent of his ex. Maybe the nameless mutt that's latched on to him can be a way to outwit this beautiful thorn in his side...

Author Bio

A lifetime of experiences fill the pages of my stories. An elementary teacher and single parent for twenty years, I supplemented income with sidelines like special-occasion garment designer and creator, cake decorator, interior designer, bank teller, computer consultant, admin clerk at a nuclear power plant construction site. Everything is grist for my writing mill.

This girly-girl prefers pearls, Guerlain’s L’Instant Parfum, peonies, and the color pink.

What ties it all together? What has been a universal constant through it all?

Romance.

And so that’s what I write. Clean romances with charm, chuckles, and chapters of love, with the sweetest of happily ever after you can imagine. If you’re in the mood to read something romantic, you’ve found the right place. After all, kisses are only a dream away…

Author Links

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was different than I expected. First its  a VERY clean romance. There are lotsa kissing but nothing more than that. I also was a little iffy if I really liked the heroine as she sorta betrays the hero by keeping a secret from him. Also this story has ALOT of dogs, ALOT and they play a big part in the story.
Aside from that I LOVED the hero, he is grumpy fellow but he had good reasons for that. I also enjoyed the story as the author threw lots of stumbling blocks at the couple.
Megan is the heroine in this story and she is a preschool teacher and is William's neighbor but they get off to a rough start in this story. William has bought a golf course, he is the new guy in town and is a divorced ex golf player.

He believes he is cursed and bad things happen to him all the time and Meg believes that life can be hard but she is very Pollyanna like in that she makes lemonade from lemons. One of the big issues between Meg and Will is a piece of land they both want. One of the reasons I did  not like Meg was because she wants that land and goes behind his back to try and get the land back but she never ever tells Will. It made it hard for me to like her as in a way she is betraying Will's trust.

Aside from that I highly enjoyed this story and fell hard for Will and his dog PAL.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Swallowing lies has never felt so good. Reed freaking Rivers. I wouldn’t trust a word out of the arrogant music mogul’s mouth if his gold-plated tongue were notarized. The Man with the Midas Touch would say anything to get me into his bed, and I know it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want him to succeed. Indeed, the moment I laid eyes on Reed while he was speaking at an on-campus event I’d crashed, my body physically ached to feel his golden fingers—and tongue—all over me.

Unfortunately, though, I can’t give into my powerful craving to jump Reed’s cocky bones. Not until I’ve figured out my best strategy with him . . . The truth is Reed has something I desperately want. Something my heart desires even more than my body craves one night of delicious fun with the yummiest man alive.

Reed assumes he’s running this game of seduction. He thinks he’s a thirty-four-year-old big cat on the prowl, and I’m nothing but a blushing twenty-one-year old field mouse with stars in my eyes.

Yeah . . . no. As Reed is about to find out, he’s not the only cat on the hunt in this game of cat-and-mouse . . . . BAD LIAR is the first book of the standalone REED RIVERS TRILOGY.

The full trilogy is BAD LIAR, BEAUTIFUL LIAR, and BELOVED LIAR, to be read in order.

This is Reed Rivers story and when I heard it was a trilogy well I HAD to read it because I have loved Reed so very much in other books the author has written. This book series stands alone. Meaning if you didn't read The Club or the other books related to that series no worries as Reed is introduced in this story. Now this series is NOT a stand alone, meaning you read Bad Liar first and then book 2 (on March 9) and then book 3 (in April).

In this story we meet Reed and while I have LOVED him in other books I really get to know him in this story. We learn about his past and his present and the new woman he lusts for.

This story is HOT but also fun and sexy and I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for more in this series. I typically don't read trilogies because I hate the wait but while this is a series and I cannot wait for more, it does not end on a HUGE cliff hanger. Its more of I want more than I will die if I don't know what happens next. This is a series I can really recommend if you have always wanted Reed's story.

They’d always called her a bitch.

But she didn’t think that was a bad thing.

Bitches were strong, tough AF, spoke their minds, and definitely didn’t take any crap from anyone. So when anyone called Olivia a bitch, she took it as the best type of compliment. She was strong and tough, never hesitated to speak her mind, and was about as far away from a pushover as one could get.

Great for her job—she’d become a VP at Prestige Media Group, managing some of the best athletes in the world and she was excellent at her career of choice.

Great for her bank account—it was flush, and she could live well on her salary, even in expensive San Francisco.

Not so great for her love life.

Turned out that most guys weren’t super into women who could take care of themselves, women who didn’t need rescuing. Either that, or they wanted her to take care of them, including every night out and sometimes even rent. Now, she didn’t mind paying her fair share, but that’s where she drew the line. Her fair share. As in, she was looking for a partner, not an owner or, worse, to be someone’s mother.

She wanted an equal. But she’d all but given up on finding that.

Until, Cole.

Cole was about as far away from Olivia’s city girl polish as one could get. A retired hockey player, he wore jeans to her suits, cowboy boots to her heels, ate simple food to her gourmet. Hell, he lived on a ranch half the year.

And yet . . . he also challenged her mind. Never gave her an inch. Not to mention, he was gorgeous, kind, incredibly insightful and always, always, called her on her B.S.

He’d done it when she’d been his agent, and continued to do it every time they talked.

The only difference now was that she was no longer his agent and so Olivia was faced with the age-old question . . .

Did she play it safe or take a leap of faith?

I love this author she is kinda an auto buy for me and I have read many of her other series. But this was the first one I didn't love. I had a tough time finishing it. I think its because it moved very slowly and I didn't really love the male lead, Jayden.

The plus is that its a offshoot from her last series and is a brand new series about guys who work at a private detective agency. Izzy is their office manager who the guys don't want out in the field until she comes up with her own case and she wants to take Jayden with her as he is the PI and they have to pretend to be a couple.

It was a fun story once it got going and I enjoyed the dynamics between Jayden and Izzy. She is a very fun character and I loved how she pushed Jay's buttons. This is a friends becoming more romance and once it started to speed up I started to enjoy it.

I have read every book Samantha Lind has written and if this is your first book of hers, you are missing out. She writes very heartfelt stories that are hot and sexy but the characters have a deep and abiding love for the other characters in the story.

This is a brand new series for her and its extremely loosely connected to her last series in that Derrick was a client of Madison's who was a sports agent who married Richard, a hockey player. That series was a hockey player series and this series is a baseball player series.

Derrick is the pitcher and he has had a lot of work pressure as he has tried to win a world series for his team. This resulted in parties and drinks and a wild life after games. But he at the time had a wife, Jillian and two young daughters. His wife got fed up and divorced him and that is what happens at the start of this story.

But he still loves his wife and he wants his family back and so he is willing to do absolutely anything to make up for his past errors. Jillian did not know how to find the man she loved in the wild partier and so she divorced him, but she still loves him and so agrees to give him a shot at redemption.

This is his story of redemption. Can he make it work? Can he become the guy he was before work got in the way, well I am not spoiling this. It was a wonderful 2nd chance at romance story with two exes who still love each other. Wonderful start to the new series.

Hate You Not by Ella James

Blurb

I didn’t know I was that person. You know—the one who gets the kids. But that’s what the will said. June Lawler: Legal Guardian.

My niece and nephew are 6 and 9, and all they’ve ever known is San Francisco. I arrive the day after the wreck, pack up my sister’s mansion, and fly them back to Georgia.
The small-town farm where their mom and I grew up isn’t what it once was, but it’s home. That’s all they really need.

I was courting an investor when it happened. Tromped all up and down the Himalayas, and he didn’t even buy in. It was a week before I found out what I’d lost. My little brother meant the world to me. Now even his kids are gone.

Spirited away to Heat Springs, Georgia—population 298.
They’re living on a farm that’s half a breath from bank foreclosure with a 26-year-old who didn’t finish high school. Nowhereville is not the place for little Mastersons. But I’ll get them back. It’s the money she must want, and I’ve got lots of that.

“June Bug” Lawler is poorer than that red dirt she comes from. I can make her dreams come true—and do one last thing for my brother.

I hate him.
She makes me crazy.
He thinks he can buy me off! I’ve never met a man so arrogant.
There’s no woman anywhere more stubborn.
I wish I had never met him.

But that’s not the story.

This book was supposed to be released a few days ago but the author delayed it an extra week and let me tell you its soooooooo good. It does take a bit for the story to build up, but once we start to get to know the characters and they get to know each other, it becomes a really awesome and fun small town story taking place in Georgia.

This is a sad story about two people who die way too early and leave behind two awesome and great kids, Oliver and Margot. Burke is  the fathers older brother and June is the mothers younger sister. Burke is a HOT and rich tech guy who is single at age 36 and lives and works in San Franscisco. He is a bit broken by his past and so at times he sorta vanishes on June and that was not something I loved about this story. But I did love how June accepts this about him.

June is 26 and loved her older sister dearly, she has other siblings but she had a special connection to her older sister and niece and nephew even though they lived in San Franscisco. She is left the two children as a guardian and she comes to get them and take them back to her home in Georgia.

June is the best part of this story. She is so strong and truly is the one that holds her whole family together and when the kids are left to her. Its the absolute best thing in her life.

Burke thinks he will be the better guardian and that's when these two start the hate on for each other. But as Burke sees the life she is offering the kids he starts to see who she really is and the hate turns to friendship and maybe something more.

This was very well written and I really loved the story and characters. It is a fun small town southern romance and I truly enjoyed it. For most of this story Burke is a very strong leading man, almost like a playboy but as the story develops you stark to see how broken he is. What was wonderful was how he lets June in and her family.
