This is the last book in the series, and I am going to miss the GD Taylor family so much. They provided hijinks, family fun, laughs and lots of romance. This is the youngest Taylor kid; Penelope's story and she is 22 and just out of college and she moves to NYC to work with her brothers.
Pen had a best friend growing up, Beckham, who was super rich in the money department, but his home life was very poor. He met Pen in Kindergarten and they were besties their whole lives. That is until he kissed Pen eight months before and then ghosted her. And he is suffering and needs to have her back in his life and so he moves to NYC and tries to get their friendship back.
Pen was an awesome character. She is one tough cookie but has the sweetest heart and I loved seeing her sassy self in relation to hanging out with her brothers and their families. I also loved that she is upset with Beck, and she shows him that and makes him chase after her.
Beck is young. He is 23 in this book and so his ghosting of Pen I forgave him because he is very young, confused about what he wants, but also willing to do anything because Pen is everything to him. I loved their friendship and how desperate he is to have Pen in his life.
He has always loved pen but never felt he was a good bet for her. In a way he had self-esteem problems because he never felt good enough for her. In this story he goes through a journey of self-discovery because he has to see that because he had a crappy set of parents that does not have anything to do with who he is.
This was an awesome story and I loved how Beck was always there for Pen. The good, the bad and everything in between. I also loved that the authors made them neighbors and my favorite scene in the entire book was when Pen gets sick, she texts him HELP and he comes running.
This is a second chance for Pen and Beck but also a story about coming of age, growing up and finding your special person and realizing you don't have to be perfect or have the perfect family, you just have to be you.
This story made me tear up near the end. Made me laugh with the Taylor family and made me sigh a few times. It was an extremely romantic story about two best friends coming to grips about who they are and who they are to each other. It's a stand-alone story but also a wonderful way for this series to end.
