ABOUT THE BOOK
Haddie Carmichael has made it her mission to take care of others—from her nieces and nephews to the hospice patients she takes care of as a nursing assistant.
As she finishes up her nursing degree, she’s ready to take that next step, but sometimes life has other plans.
Chris Anderson has always been the biggest douche bag, until circumstances cause Haddie to look at him in a different light. On a night when she was there for him, she made the biggest mistake—sleeping with her brother’s best friend. To her horror he doesn’t remember any of it.
Six weeks later and two pink lines, and everything changes.
Life has thrown Haddie a curveball, but she’s bound and determined to finish school and have her baby, even while the father of her child fights his demons.
Chris Anderson has always loved things to excess—women, booze, and lately…drugs. When a devastating diagnosis rocks his family’s world, the excess gets worse. He’s spiraling and he can’t seem to stop.
He hits rock bottom when he learns he knocked up his best friend’s baby sister when he was on a bender. Chris decides he needs help and so he heads to California for treatment. For a whole year he stays gone, working on his sobriety, but when he comes back, he’s healthier than ever.
As he gets to know his baby girl, he develops feelings for Haddie. First its friendship, but then it turns into something neither of them expected…love.
When Chris begins to doubt himself will he succumb to his demons or will he fight like hell to beat them?

EXCERPT
“I think I’m dying,” I whimper from my spot on the floor.
It’s official, I hate my sister. She’s a big meanie, and I’m never speaking to her again.
Earlier she picked me up, and as soon as I saw Abby in her little bootie shorts and sports bra, I was immediately jealous. She’s had three kids (Natalie is her adopted daughter) and is lean and tight where she should be.
She brought me a pair of her bootie shorts and a sports bra tank top—Abby’s such a mom—and brought me a bottle of water too. When we got here, I was immediately intimidated by all the ripped men and women. First, I had to sign a release, and then Abby introduced me to a couple of her friends.
After that I don’t remember anything, which brings me to now. I’m face down on a mat in the corner and my bitchface sister is laughing hysterically at me. I’m a sweaty, stinky mess right now, but I can’t drum up enough energy to care.
“Come on, Haddie. You can’t stay here all day.”
I open my eyes to see her lying on the floor looking at me. Instead of answering, I hold up my hand and give her the finger. She stands up and holds her hand out to me. I let her pull me up until I’m standing. I feel like a newborn foal and my legs feel all jiggly.
It’s not lost on me that Abby’s Crossfit buddies are all laughing at me as we walk by. “I seriously hate your guts,” I tell her as we step outside.
After Abby drops me off, I take a long hot bath in a tub filled with Epsom salts. When I climb out of my tub, I wrap a towel around myself and grab my bottle of ibuprofen. After swallowing them down I change into something comfy and crawl into my bed to promptly pass out.

Is the newest release and it stars Haddie, who is Abby's sister and is 20 and Chris, who is 26. and is Joe's best friend. He and Joe shared girls in the past and in the previous book, Chris is a HUGE jerk and honestly, I am not sure the author can make me like him.
In this book Haddie comes into his life as she is a hospice nurse for his mom who has a bad case of Cancer. Chris is hot, rich and single and I was not a fan of how he treats women. I did not love him in the beginning of this story. He is really sweet with his mom who has terminal cancer. But when she dies, he spirals really badly. So much that I was not sure the author could redeem him.
One year later the book picks up at about 40% and we see Chris enter Haddie and his infant daughter's life. He has come a long way to go as he has to prove himself to Haddie, his father, his new baby, Joe and Haddie's entire family and he has a long way to go. By the end of the book, I loved this book so much. The author did an amazing job with this story, and I fell in love with Chris so hard.
This was my absolute favorite in this series, hands down. It's one I would reread over and over. If you love a good redemption romance, then this is an awesome one.

OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES REVIEWED
Book 1 Broken Love
I received a complimentary early release copy of the entire series in e-books from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a romance with a single dad and a very hurt woman who is also being stalked. Ben is also black, and Abby is white, and the author used the racial bias in the plot and with the stalker. It was a very interesting story and I enjoyed it.
Book 2 Secret Love
I received a complimentary early release copy of the entire series in e-books from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Carrington's story, and she is Abby's best friend and roomie and cousin. Because she needs money, she ends up working as a waitress at a strip club and that's where she meets bad boy Damien who also works there. Damien likes her right away but he knows he needs to alienate her and so he is a huge jerk to her and so this is a bit of hate to love romance. This was a good story, but somethings felt a bit rushed and there is a bit of violence in this story. Also, Luke who is Cari's father was a HUGE jerk and I had a tough time forgiving him.
Book 3 Forbidden Love
I received a complimentary early release copy of the entire series in e-books from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book stars Violet and Diego. Diego is older at 34 and a professor at Violet's college and her teacher. Violet is Abby's cousin and is only 21/22 in this book and more Innocent while Diego has very casual relationships. This was my absolute favorite in this entire series. I adored Violet and I really loved Diego as well. They have this amazing chemistry and they both try and resist each other so much. There is a little blackmail and exes chasing them and some issues with family members, but I loved this story so much.
Book 4 Unexpected Love
I received a complimentary early release copy of the entire series in e-books from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Joe is Abby's brother, and he is 24 and he has a thing going on with an older woman, Chloe who is 31. Chloe and Joe are related as cousins of cousins but with no blood relations, so they have known each other for years. This story let's say kept me guessing. At times Joe seemed SO immature. He runs from things; he does a lot of blaming and his choices in friends left a lot to be desired shall we say. Chloe on the other hand I loved. She is strong, she has a great family, and she has some absolutely awesome friends. Honestly, I got that Joe was hot but beyond that I don't know what she saw in him. I think this story was my least favorite story.
