They have known each other for years but Brooks never really felt anymore until they start dancing and flirting at Palmer's brothers' engagement party. Palmer has always crushed on him but as he is friends with her brother, it was more a teen kinda crush on her brother's friend than anything else.
But after the engagement party their relationship changes and they end up being friends who hook up. As time goes by they start to get to know each other and have this strong connection which ends up with them falling for each other.
I really loved and enjoyed this story. Palmer is a total sweetheart and I loved how flirty and great she is with Brooks. Brooks was attracted to her but they have a lot of connections, and he took his time considering his moves because of the family connections.
My only real issue with their romance was that they date but he never calls it a date. I felt that they fell for each other as they spend time with each other, but I really missed that Brooks never actually asks her out. Their hookups were just so casual, and I wanted the romantic dates to really swoon over Brooks.
