Boss to the Rescue - Billionaire Boss #2 - by Janie Grey (Jasmine and Ed)

BLURB

That time you need to make a brilliant first impression for a competitive internship, but accidentally arrive late and with an armful of soggy kittens…only to find that your new boss, Ed Malden - who needs to adore the crap out of you if you’re to secure your dream job - is not only one of New Zealand’s hottest billionaire heartthrobs, but he is *majorly* allergic to cats.

The sneezing begins.

The glares / orders / bosshole attitude / intolerable demands follow.

And while the other interns (the punctual ones without wet cats) are given achievable tasks with which to prove themselves worthy of the one covetable position available… I’m given an unthinkable challenge to overcome. I *need* this job, but property mogul Ed clearly doesn’t want me on his team.

It could be worse, I suppose.

I could end up spending time with the boss and falling for the cat-hating, ball-busting, ego-toting, potential-realising, oddly inspiring, actually sort of gooey inside, swoon-worthy, panty-melting jerk… damn it.

Boss to the Rescue is a standalone romance with an HEA. While it's part of a series, each book is a different couple and can be read on its own.

AUTHOR BIO

Janie loves good coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and contemporary romance in all its forms. But while she loves many genres, billionaire romance is her favourite to write. Who doesn’t like a hot guy with buckets of money? Especially when he has to work hard to win the love of his life.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 2 in the series but can easily stand alone. I did read the first book and both main characters are seen in the first book as they each have connections/friendships with characters in the first book, but they don't actually meet each other until this book begins.

This is a boss/intern romance with an age gap (he is 34 and she is I think 22) and also a slow burn romance. It's a really great story and I found Ed fascinating and the assignments, and the projects Ed has his interns and Jasmine working on.

I also really enjoyed the writers writing style and I found it a fun, easy read that was fast paced and I could not put it down.

Ed is a very rich guy, and he runs his own real estate firm. He has 8 interns he usually accepts for 8 weeks and usually the best ones get a job offer at the end of 8 weeks.

Jasmine ends up being a wonderful young and smart woman who charms Ed with her hard work and brain power. But she is also very dangerous for him as he only does one nighters and he does not believe and even want love.

This is very much about a guy who is not the most mature guy in the world. Jasmine is one tough woman, and she attempts to tame his heart. She is much younger than him, but she also knows what she wants and knows what she deserves, and she does not accept anything less. I absolutely loved her so much and truly she schooled Ed and really changed him and helped him grow up.

Because they work together and she is his intern, one that he will grade. They cannot be seen as anything but boss and intern. This is very much a forbidden romance, but they also share some friend connections and that makes it even harder for them to stay away from each other.

This story takes place in New Zealand, and I really enjoyed learning more about the country and how different it is than America and even the UK.
