This is Hudson's story and I loved that the author paired him with Maddie. Maddie is the sister of Brandon Dixon who is a teammate to Hudson's families football team. These two siblings are very connected, and Brandon does not approve of Hudson so there is an element of this being a forbidden romance.
After Hudson is hurt, Maddie becomes his roomie and helps to take care of him while he recovers. It was a great opportunity for two people who really like each other to spend time together as they get to know each other as more than just friends or family friends.
Hudson is a MMA fighter as well and has given up sex before his big fight so they have some very hot and heavy scenes together, doing everything but having sex. That is until the big fight.
This was a really awesome friends to lovers' story with two characters who are very different but who find each other and really connect as they fall for the other.
