BLURB
A small town, single dad, enemies to lovers romance.
Crawling back to this small town was never in hockey star Chase Woodson’s plans.
From hitting hockey pucks in front of thousands to selling urinal pucks at his father’s hardware store, coming back home is his worst nightmare.
But being a (newly) single dad of twin boys means making sacrifices. His boys need stability and his dad needs his help in the store.
Now he needs her.
Except, Chase has been the bane of Madison Kelly’s existence since high school.
She just so happens to be the only available nanny in town.
Besides, high school was ten years ago.
People don’t hold grudges that long, right?

Marie James is a full-time author, mother of two boys, and wife of 18+ years. Dog Mom to four great danes: Maximus, Sassy, Kiki, and Hargid.
She has spent almost my entire lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. She is currently residing in a sleepy little town in East Tennessee.
Writing is her passion, and she absolutely loves being able to sit down and put all of her thoughts and emotions into her stories.
She loves dogs, coffee, making handmade cards, and reading steamy romance novels!
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a really awesome book. Its also my first book that I have read by this author. It has several tropes like second chance, nanny and boss, single dad, small town, former childhood neighbors, close proximity and hate to love.
Madison has hated her old neighbor, Chase Woodson since she was in 8th grade. He is the town superstar, because he left town to be a NHL player, married a model and had two adorable kids. Until things fall apart for him and he comes home.
Madison has also moved home but its killing her. She needs her own place because her parents are very amorous. When she hears that Chase is hiring and is very desperate for help with his twins, she applies but only if its live in, so she can escape her parents.
And so the fun begins. I LOVED Madison and I adored Chase and his twins are so much fun. I am not sure the hate to love was really here. I think it was more he irritated her, and I was glad it was not more than that because why she didn't like him was kinda silly, after all the years had gone by.
I really enjoyed this story and getting to know everyone in Lindell. I was totally rooting for this couple because I could really feel their attraction and connection. There is a break up near the end and I wish that Chase had done more groveling and Madison had been less forgiving. But I also loved them together and I really loved this story.
TIPS
When I opened the book, it mentioned that there is a prequel book that is free, so I downloaded and read it first. While this book stands alone, I definitely suggest you read the prequel (Foot in the Door) because some characters are mentioned from the first book.
As I read the book, some things are mentioned that happened at Kalen's wedding (he is a main character in the prequel) and I wanted the details on that. I messaged the author and she said they happened during her Cerberus MC series in the 28th book, Legacy. So if you have questions like I did, you will find them in Legacy.
