BLURB
Matteo
My time with Bella McIntosh was only supposed to last a week—I needed to focus on the family business—but I’d soon realize I couldn’t let her go.
She haunted my dreams and drove me to the point of distraction.
That’s how I found myself on the verge of saying ‘I do’, but deep down, I knew I couldn’t go through with it.
Leaving my bride at the altar wasn’t part of the plan, but I had to follow my heart … which was on the other side of the world.
I could only hope she’d never forget the time we shared.
Bella
I had everything I ever wanted … except him.
Matteo Mancini.
He was supposed to be a vacation fling, but he turned out to be so much more.
We promised each other forever, but our time ended before we got that chance.
I left my heart in Italy and returned home to focus on the life I was building. All the while pretending I was over him, but I wasn’t. I never would be.
We lived a world apart … if only our love was strong enough to withstand the obstacles that stood in our way.

This is single mom, Bella's second chance romance with Italian billionaire businessman Matteo. It takes place about two years after they met.
Matteo fell hard for Bella two years before and they parted ways. He never forgot her and so when he starts getting the pressure to marry, he decides to find her. Meanwhile Bella's life changed two years before and she really loved her life though it was hard to leave Matteo behind. When he re-enters her life, she is utterly shocked.
I have read this author before and I have enjoyed her stories, but primarily they have been sports romances. This one is really very different in that Matteo is a billionaire in Italy and he has no sports connections at all. At times I enjoyed the romance of this book. I am sure we all have that ex that we left and how awesome would he be if he came back into our life and professed love.
But Matteo lives in Italy, and he has a complicated relationship with someone there. (I don't want to spoil who she is too much). Bella is not Italian, and she does NOT speak Italian. So he has to convince her to leave her family and home with her child and move to Italy. In addition, he really never tells her about that complicated relationship. I felt this was very unfair to her. So, I was not a fan of that.
Bella on the other hand I adored. She takes these huge risks, and she is smart and resourceful, and she knows how to speak up for herself, I totally adored her, and Matteo was one lucky guy.
I did enjoy reading this story and I loved watching Bella flourish in Italy. If you love second chance romances, then this was a very intriguing one that I enjoyed.
