Desperate Times by Emily Goodwin is now live!
ABOUT THE BOOK
I fell in love with Chloe Fisher when we were only kids. I knew then, just like I know now, there will never be another woman in the world for me but her. A silly childhood pact to marry each other if we were still single and thirty kept us together…until I messed up, hurting the only woman I’ve ever truly cared about. I swore if I ever got a second chance, I would make things right, prove to Chloe I’ve changed, that I’m not the same guy who broke her heart years ago.
History has a way of repeating itself, and now that Chloe is finally giving me what I’ve always wanted, I’m terrified that maybe Chloe will always be the one that got away. That maybe, just maybe, she’s entirely too good for me.
I’ve never been one to give up, and I’ll keep fighting for her—for us, even though the universe is doing its very best to keep us apart. It’s true what they say: desperate times call for desperate measures. And I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make her mine.

This is book 2 in a duet. I liked this book much more than the first story but I think that is because in this story we really get to explore Sam and Chloe's relationship.
In the first book it was more about them finally admitting their feelings and how they get to that point. By the time they get together and admit their feelings they have to split up because he has to go home to Chicago and her to LA so while they agree to a long distance relationship. I felt the I love you's happened so fast and I didn't get to see them in their relationship. Book 1 did end up with a cliff of sorts with Sam's ex coming back and the why on that is further explored in this story as well as the relationship between Sam and Chloe.
The ex drama is really not the center of this story. It is Chloe and Sam and how they in real life work to make their relationship work and truly by the end of this story I saw how much they loved each other. And thats why I loved it. We see them meeting each others friends, we see them date, we see them hanging out together and we get many sex scenes. It was an intimate look at their relationship and I absolutely loved that about this story.
