GIVE ME FOREVER by Layla Hagen (Sam and Avery)

ABOUT THE BOOK

Don’t fall for your ex … famous last words. Conned out of my business I have no other choice but to move back home to Chicago. I’m determined to rebuild everything, but I’m so broke that I can’t even afford to pay rent. Then my first love, Sam Maxwell, unexpectedly pops back into my life and turns out to be my knight in shining armor. When he offers to share an apartment, I’m eager to accept. After all, it's been fifteen years since I last saw him, and we hardly know each other anymore.

But I was wrong—so very wrong. The second we move in together, I realize I’m in over my head: Sam is even hotter than I remember. More daring. More shameless. More…everything. And the spark I’d thought was long gone rekindles and neither of us tries to stop it. Sam Maxwell is my past and my present. And he may be my future too.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the final Maxwell brother story. All the brothers are now matched up except for the baby, Sam. He is the doctor and he finally is staying in town and needs a new place to live. He ends up as roomies with his high school ex, Avery.

Avery came home after losing just about everything to her jewelry partner, Sophia. She wants to restart her business but can't afford a nice place by herself, so she becomes Sam's roomie.

This was one of those stories I could not put down. You can really feel the heat and electricity between Sam and Avery, and I adored this story. Its prob my favorite in this series.

Both characters are really good people who never broke up because of any one thing, it was more about Avery moving and taking care of her mom than that anything happened between Avery and Sam. So, when they start spending time together things get really fun, and I loved watching them go after their second chance.

For both of them they are sort of at a crossroads professionally. Sam is a doctor and working at the hospital, but his dream is to open a clinic. When he gets a shot at that, what will he do? Avery has lost everything to a very bad business deal so she is starting all over. What direction does she want to go professionally? It was a really fascinating read and I loved seeing what direction each character decides to take.
