This is a start to a new series by this author. It takes place in the small town of Eureka, where we have two very different families, the Bailey's and the Stone's. The Bailey's are a more magic/circus type of family. Where the Stone's are more serious. There is also an aspect of religion/faith in this story.

This is a story about Aiden Stone who is age 35, a single dad, and a serious sheriff. He is a former SEAL who was married to a woman who cheated on him and died. He has given up on love and trust and is all about his small town and his family.

We also meet Britt Bailey who is 28 and has been out of town working as a forensic photographer. She is called home when her grandmother who is also the mayor asks her to come home and work with sheriff.

Things heat up between these two while they work together and get to know each other. There is also an element of suspense to this story. One of my favorite parts of this story is the family connections between the Stone and Bailey family.

This is a second chance romance with lots of small-town politics, and age gap, brother's best friends and romance at work.   Britt has some secrets and Aiden has the mystery to discovering the connections between what's happening and the big mystery. Aiden is a by the book sheriff, and he has to learn to let love and trust in.
