This book starts off a brand-new series, but it's also connected to the Cottonwood Cove series as Romeo is the brother of Lincoln Hendrix, who is married to Brinkley Reynolds. You can read their story in On the Shore.
Romeo Knight runs a boxing gym that is located next door to Demi Crawford's new coffee cafe, they are also neighbors as he lives behind his gym, and she lives above her cafe. She is 22 and comes from a very rich family but she is also a hard worker and is well respected in town. Romeo, is around 23 hates her family and is a big old grump with her.
There is also a side plot where Romeo has to decide whether to accept a big prize fight with this other guy. If he does, he can make lots of money, but he is not sure it's something he wants to do. Demi offers to help him by making him nutrition drinks.
On Romeo's side this is hate to friendship to love romance. On Demi's side its that he is a big grump with her and she wants to make him smile and he is hot. Then there is the fact that her parents HATE him and he HATES her family too for something that happened when he was 14 and happened 9 years before. Why? Well you will have to read this book to find out.
This story has a lot of characters, as this is the first book in the series. I really enjoyed getting to know them and I can't wait to see who the author pairs them with.

Nash and Kingston run a construction company.
River and Kingston are brothers.
Hayes has a sister named Saylor who is college friends with Demi.
Nash is a single dad and has a 6-year-old son named Cutler
River and Romeo hate the Crawford family because of something that happened years ago.
Professionally River is a lawyer, Romeo is a gym owner, Nash and Kingston run the construction company, Hayes is a firefighter.
This was a book I could not put down and I highly enjoyed it. It does have some serious subjects that it deals with like drug addiction, Boxing, Juvenile Detention, stalking and assault.
