We meet Adrian Astor two years before when he meets Leia at a bar and they go star gazing and have an amazing night. Afterwards he gives her his number but in reality its a bad time for him to meet someone. The story then picks up two years later when he and Leia meet at her best friends wedding and it turns out that her friend is Adrian's cousin.
This is a second chance romance but also a multicultural read as Leia often calls herself Indian, Asian and a person of color. She still lives at home, is a graduate college student and is from a very traditional family. It also is an extremely forbidden story and if Adrian and Leia want to be together they have MANY hurdles to get over first. One is that Adrian is a single dad with prime custody of two twins.
As the book progresses fate has a big part of this story as Adrian and Leia are thrown together and their relationship becomes very taboo:
- Adrian is Leia's graduate advisor at college
- Leia is Adrian Teaching Student
- He is a dad to two kids and just divorced
- Leia becomes the kids nanny
I loved this story a whole lot. Its a a long story and has 63 chapters but I could not put it down. It is well written and I loved that Leia and Adrian have so many obstacles to get over to be together but through it all they both act intelligently, carefully and maturely. There are no fights between them but rather its them against the world.
