This sexy attorney may just have his second chance at a future with her…
Jake Sutton doesn’t have time for romance. He tends to skip dinner and head straight to dessert. It’s not like he’s a complete jerk, he knows how to be romantic —it happened once. His friends have been trying to set him up on a blind date for months with the new bakery owner in town, to no avail. But when they end up at the same party and their eyes meet, it all comes back. Turns out Avery is no stranger.
Jake and Avery had a summer together a few years back in a different city. They were so many things… then one day they were not. Yet seeing each other again, well, it’s a struggle—the not jumping into bed or lying her down on the kitchen counter kind of struggle.
But closure and a second chance are not the same thing, and they’ll need both if they want to try again. And this bakery owner and hotshot attorney are about to realize that finding their way back to one another could just be bittersweet.

E.H. Lyon hates folding laundry and decided one day to avoid it by writing witty and a little steamy stories. Her stories take you on a light and bantering ride until the very end, when your couple finds their happily ever after. Along the way, there may be the occasional emotional twist thrown in and the essential appearance of a bottle of whiskey. E.H. has a thing for witty women, determined well-dressed men who fall in love, and the steamy scenes that bring them together.
An American from the Midwest, she now lives in Northern Europe with her small pack of humans. She believes the essence of balance is sitting on a yoga mat listening to music whilst eating a donut. And she absolutely loves finding a new book boyfriend to swoon-over, hearing from other authors, and connecting with people who read her books.
This is book 4 in the series and stars Jack who we have met before who is the in town lawyer and Avery's Cousin, Abby who runs the new bakery in town. Their friends have been wanting to set them up together for quite a while but Abby said no thanks because she had previously dated a Jake. Jake had never met Abby until one night he manages to find time to hang with his friends at The Matchbox bar and they run into each other. And guess what they are not strangers, and they have a very complicated past together. Now 5 years later Jake wants to connect with Abby but first they need to figure out their past.
This was an awesome story. Its actually my new favorite in the series and easily stands alone. It did have its serious moments but it was also a fun and light read and I really loved getting to know both main characters better.
If you have not read this series yet, well do it its a really great series about a group of friends who find love in a small town in Colorado and hang out at the local bar.
